Kat/Inv, go for S/L or positional?
Invulnerable is very solid...I cannot recall, but if invincibility buffs positional defense also when you are in range of foes, you might be able to go positional, I would look at it at least.
If not, then I would definitely skip Divine Avalanche and take the early AoE as an attack instead, slot for S/L/E/N/F/C easily...all you need to do is put 3 Aegis resists in your auto/inherent powers, 4 reactive armors in resist toggles...luck of the gambler everywhere you can...and take Manu/CJ/Tough/Weave etc. to help you get your defenses where you want them.

Well, took a quick crack at it before bed tonight. It hits 47.5 S/L 40.6 E/N and 42.8 F/C with T4 agility.
The build feels a little awkward, and hasten isn't quite perma... ugh, just not feeling real confident in it. But it's my first crack at /inv, and those defense numbers layered onto a resist set should be pretty sturdy I suppose. Not sure how I feel about it really.

Okay. Again. Passive Resists (any power that says "Resist X") should be the ones getting the Aegis treatment.
You get nearly the same amount of raw Resistance enhancement from 3 Aegis (Resist, Res/End, Res/Rech) as you do from 4 Reactive Armor (Resist, Res/End, Res/Rech, Res/End/Rech). And you see better endurance reduction in powers that actually benefit from it.
Here's a slightly different take on your build. Slightly closer to Perma Hasten. VERY perma DP.

Thanks for the tweaks and such. I wasn't really meaning that the slotting was set, it was just a quick and dirty bit thrown together right before bed so that I would have a record of which sets to use and such. Very nice revamp, most appreciated.

Getting to S/L softcap on Inv isn't the issue. Any idiot can do that.
Getting your defenses on the other defense types up to acceptable ranges is where planning comes in. And using Kin Combats to boost S/L frees one up to make other choices for the exotics.

Agreed. Maybe I should have said that I have s/l/e/n soft capped with f/c at around 32%.
Also, I feel I should clarify. I wasn't trying to seem boastful, I was just remarking to the OPs statement about building inv around kin combats. In my defense, I did advise him to listen to you, as I know you know your stuff, and are a helpful member of the community. I just don't seem to have the ability to explain myself very well at times.
You can be softcapped to S/L/E/N/F/C with a reasonably priced build. This one is very similar to the one I'm currently using on my Kat/Inv Scrapper, so far no complaints so hopefully you can get some ideas from it:

This will be my first invulnerability character, but I have heard pretty good things about it.
I opened this thread and then started poking around in mids and it looks like all the /inv powers are typed defense, so that pretty much locks down that question. I was thinking to leverage Divine Avalanche and go for positional defense instead of having yet another melee built around Kinetic Combat sets, oh well, I guess that's out the door.
So, anyone have any thoughts? I dug about 8 pages deep in the builds forum but didn't see any kat/inv builds there. I can probably cobble something together I suppose but it always helps me out to look over other builds first just to see how people are approaching things. Will check back tomorrow and either post a mids or look at what people have here.

Not sure how far that can be pushed as far as f/c/e/n. It's generally pretty easy to work S/L to good numbers, and then it becomes a balancing act for the others versus getting more recharge to crank kat's big hitters. Price is... not really a huge concern. I mean obviously I would like to keep it as reasonable as possible, but at the same time I have 1-2 sets of rag, heca, apoc and arm banked, pvp 3% def, panaceas, pvp -res aoe procs etc just sitting in my base storage, so if the build looks solid I have the resources to really pimp it out a bit.
