Quote:Because he (the suit) is insane. Did you notice the suits eyes actually change when the Chess personality reveals himself? He can't shed the pieces of the Chess identity because the CEO personality is the mask that Chess wears to hide in plain sight. After all, if Chess was the cop who died, then why does the suit keep going back to that identity? If he's the master planner that we are presented with, the smart thing do to would be to shed all pieces of his Chess identity and create a new one. If they were going to keep it, then the entire framing / Chess decoy ploy is moot.
Just like Clark Kent is the mask that Superman wears to hide in plain sight. -
I always thought most of the ST time travel episodes were poorly written with a built in "Oops never happened" that always irritated me.

While you'll be hard pressed to find anyone that wouldn't appreciate more free transfers, the ones they gave us last year were done in anticipation of Going Rogue being released.
Going Rogue was originally scheduled for release in the first quarter of 2010 which coincided with the first set of free transfers. The second set of transfers was done the first week that Going Rogue launched.
The devs were giving us the chance to open slots on our favorite servers and to move established characters to new servers without having to start over from scratch or being forced to delete characters in order to make room.
So tho I would like a few more of them myself I doubt we'll see free transfers on any regular basis. -
Quote:Yeah I was going off of what I can remember.I think that limit is actually 34:
Lvl 50 base is 20
+9 from Invention badges
+5 for 66 month Veteran Reward
Likewise, the limit for Invention Salvage would be 85:
Lvl 50 base is 50
+10 purchased with Vanguard Merits
+20 from Invention badges
+5 for 66 month Veteran Reward
Edit to add link:
Paragon Wiki: Storage Capacity
I know that only further proves your point.. but just sayin'. lol
And again I'm all for more storage. Especially in bases where storage is more for the community rather than an individual. The limit of 30 is a real PITA when multiple players are trying to share it. -
Quote:Again I'm all for increasing SG storage but just out of curiosity, are you aware of how much storage we actually have available to us on our accounts?I like the idea of increasing the salv bin max to 100 and allowing more salvage bins in the base. If the reason for keeping the limits to 30 and limiting the number of bins is to stock up the market, then the reason doesn't make sense. Salvage drops quite frequently and folks can get roll salvage in AE. Allowing bases to hold more salvage isn't gonna dry up the market. Lots of marketeers have shown that even with several toons buying up salvage for price manipulation, the effect only lasts for a few hours.
When I played Neverwinter nights, there was an item called the Bag of Holding which can hold around 10 swords or 5 axes. When an item is placed in the magic bag, it weighed 0 lbs, thus allowing the player to hold a lot of items. Then there's a Lesser Bag of Holding. 5 Lesser bags can be placed inside 1 bag of Holding, thus allowing the player to bring 10x5 swords.
If the magic based games have such a cool item, why can't we have a super storage unit? I mean, we're super powered folks, so why not have super stuff to store our loot?
When the devs gave us th ability to email items they also gave the ability to store tons of stuff on our accounts using other characters. Using badges, vet reward, and temp powers each character can carry roughly
Inspiration slots - 20
Invention Salvage slots - 65
Recipe Slots - 25
CH Transaction slots - 22 which can hold stacks of 10 recipes and salvage for a total of 220
Vault - 50
Email - 20 global slots
So if you multiply those number by the number of characters slots we can have on an account
NA Account (144-396 characters)
Inspiration slots - 2,880/7,920
Invention Salvage slots - 9,360/25,740
Recipe Slots - 3,600/9,900
CH Transaction slots - 3,168/8,712 (then in stacks of 10) 31,680/87,120
Vault - 7,200/19,800
Even on an EU Account (48-144 characters) (we) players have the ability to store thousands of items.
Each character we make can have it's own SG with a base that holds even more storage, and storage bases are easy to build. Even the laziest of players can make millions in the game and that Inf can be converted to prestige and used to build the base and buy storage bins. Once built base rental is so cheap that 1-2 missions is all that's needed to earn enough to keep the base active for the next month.
The only downside to using other characters for storage is that we can only email items 1 at a time, and we have to keep track of where we store things. -

Quote:I'm not saying that because I'm guessing: I'm saying that because I've counted.
People forget that the distance problems with Vulcan and the Ice planet are mirrored perfectly in the distance problems in WoK between Genesis and the Mutara Nebula. The Genesis torpedo is much more magical than Red Matter. How did the Reliant not notice how many planets Ceti Alpha had? How did the Reliant scan the planet looking for even tiny traces of microbial life and miss finding several dozen people, plus a planet full of killer worms. Also, metal structures?
Although Abrams Trek did have the ridiculous plot point of having academy students crew star fleet vessels on an actual mission. Oh, wait. But Abrams used the ludicrous plot coincidence of finding Scotty on the planet Kirk happens to land on. Its not like the Regula space station was manned by a someone with an incredible coincidental relationship to Kirk. But at least WoK didn't invent an entire relationship out of whole cloth like Abrams did with Spock and Uhura. Like a previously unmentioned wife and son.
I loved WoK: I still think its one of the best Trek movies, if not the best. But the slam on Abrams that it has plot and science holes is I think disingenuous given the rose-colored glasses that are used to view the other movies. I think it was different in tone and visual style, and not everyone appreciated the change, and they are looking for specific reasons to explain their disagreement over the overall movie.
What about the time cops? How many episodes have we seen people from the future coming back in time to maintain the timeline? I guess what happened in JJtrek didn't affect the future. -
Funny thing about this issue is that every single person arguing they should be allowed to download stuff for free would be screaming bloody murder if they were the writer who wasn't getting paid for the stuff they wrote/created.

Quote:That's another often requested suggestion right along with giving us some sort of recipe storage. Unfortunately so far the devs are dead set against it. Their explanation to us is that the limitations force players to choose what things they want to store and the majority of the resty gets sold on the market. And furthermore, how about 50 (or even better, 100) max storage per salvage rack. It is a little messy having to fill one's base up with so many salvage racks.
I'm not saying I agree with their position, just sharing what they told us. -

I really enjoyed it and would love to see more movies done based on all the factions and not just from the Space Marines point of view.

My thoughts exactly. I can get a picture of her for free off the internet. But a one night stand isn't enough time, I have more endurance than Golden Ace so I would need to spend at least two weeks with Summer.

But I'm undecided on where to spend the two weeks. Someplace hot would encourage her to wear as little as possible, but someplace bitter cold would keep her snuggled up to me for warmth.

Exactly. It was entertaining. If it's entertaining we as fans very forgiving, and we can even fall in love with all the flaws in some cases no matter how stupid and obvious they are.

I find the nitpicking of the show amusing. (especially since I've been nitpicking SGU) Do you guys get the idea that the show is being written like a comic book? As such certain storytelling techniques have been included in the show to make it feel like a comic book.
The hero being knocked off a building and getting attacked again almost immediately on the ground happens all the time in comic books.
Superman puts on a pair of glasses and no one can see the resemblence he has to Clark Kent.
More than one hero has a unique vehicle that should be easy to trace if any effort was put into it.
Spiderman lives in NYC, the city that never sleeps and no one has ever seen him entering or exiting his home? Yeah right.
There are just some improbable things we accept as part of a comic book story, and this show is emulating them successfully. -
Quote:As long as the character using the Swingline power blows up and dies I have no problem with that explanation. For magic types, a variation of the old Indian Rope Trick immediately comes to mind. You literally anchor the line to nothing, and then swing (instead of climb).
And since highly-advanced technology is indistinguishable from Magic, just technobabble up an explanation as to why you can do the same without magic. ("Well you see, Timmy, I've anchored the end of the rope to a specific point in the space-time continuum, which is even better than anchoring it to a solid surface!" "Gee whiz, Mr. Lizard!")

Glad to see you find the responses to you as amusing as we find your original posts.
That's a healthy attitude to have. If you can maintain it while you are here you'll find that the people you were disagreeing with on one subject can turn around and be defending your point of view on a completely different topic.

Quote:First SyFy is cheap and would never pay what they want for the liscence.ScyFy should have picked it up. It would be better than the wrestling and cheesy monster movies they have now.
Second, as annoying as Wrestling is that's probably their biggest money maker so they won't get rid of it.
Third the idiot in charge has gone on record saying they hate science fiction. So it's unlikely that programming will change back to a sci-fi focus until that twit gets fired. -
Yeah this is not an uncommon suggestion, however bases haven't been getting the attention a lot of players would like. Hopefully now that GR and I 19 are out some resources can be shifted to address some of our requests.

Hypocrisy - N. - The practice of professing beliefs, feelings, or virtues that one does not hold or possess;
No hypocrisy done on my part. Now if I had been arguing that I thought merging the servers was a good idea before you did the and then did a complete 180 instead of agreeing with you, that would have been hypocrisy.
No obsession either.Quote:You just obsessed over posts I made 3+ years ago instead of discussing the issue here. LOL.
1. As was already shown it takes less than 5 seconds to pull up your post history. Spending 5 seconds to do something isn't remotely obsessive.
2. You just returned to the game a week ago
so any search done on your name is going to bring up old posts. If you were a prolific poster like Memphis Bill you might have an argument.Quote:I just resubscribed a week ago after 3 years away from the game.
3. I haven't been following you to different threads to continue this discussion. The only exchange of posts on this subject has been within the confines of this thread.
You're the only gymnast in this thread, and we're the ones being entertained.Quote:Aside from that, its funny to watch your mental gymnastics that try to completely whitewash a serious issue.
Merging servers is widely acknowledged by the MMO industry as a bad idea that's only done as a desperate measure, and there's a whole slew of reasons why it would be particularly devastating for this game. Memphis Bill has a cut and paste somewhere that he breaks out in the suggestion forums explaining all those reasons.Quote:But hey, if you only want what is bad for the game, that's on you bro.
No he didn't. The first thing he said was that you are wrong.Quote:Because I already know what they are, as Cat just confirmed.
Then he named three channels he personally is a member of that he uses to get teams on Triumph.Quote:The bold is a load of exaggerated horse manure. The italic suggest your memory is faulty.
Nowhere does he say that you are a member of those three channels.Quote:Last couple of weekends I kicked off a TF at midnight Eastern, after running one earlier as well.
In addition to TW 2.0 - which I keep in a operate tab these days and only look at if I am recruiting, there are several multi-SG private channels (Grand Coalition, the Hub and I know there are other).
For folks in those channels, it seems that those are their primary way of getting teams and groups going.
I have 7 characters on Triumph and actively use my /hide feature to keep the random invites to a minimum, and last I checked I don't need a 50 if I want to run a TF.Quote:How about you move a level 50 over to Triumph and start some TFs at 3 or 4am in the morning. Then tell me its not desolate. -
-
Quote:I want to call this movie a pile of manure but that would be insulting to manure. Manure can be used as fertilizer. The latest word....and ain't looking too good from a plot standpoint.
http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=73091
I really do not see this movie doing justice to the Stooges at all and would love to see them abort this project. -
No one is denying that Triumph is one of the lower pop servers but it is far from being desolate like someone is claiming.
-
Quote:Bill, he hasn't even gone down to the Triumph section and asked what the popular Global channels are these days. A simple post saying something like, "Hey I'm back after 2 years and I'm looking for some global channels to meet people." would have gotten him several channels to try out."Everyone" does? You've made it a personal mission to tell each and every character on that server about this channel (unnamed in this post?)
Funny. I don't recall getting any sort of message from you on it. Or anyone else.
Maybe "Everybody on the Triumph section of the boards knows about it." I could possibly believe that. But "Everybody?" No.
And "Knows about" does nto mean "Uses." I'm on every server. If I put up all my SG channels and all these "Everyone knows" channels, I couldn't fit them all.
