Very nice Murk. I like the Classic look the best.
You should give him a street clothes look to custome change into. -
Please no more arrows! ... lol
I'm leaning pretty hard towards the fire/mental. I thinking a nice Ringmaster style toon would be appropiate for that combination. Or maybe a witch doctor with lots of skulls (new science booster pack anyone?) -
Ok, hordies ... I'm going to roll a new blaster for our TFs. Which would you prefer to see:
Fire/Elec for high single target DPS
or
Fire/Mental for high AoE DPS
Also, if you think my AT selection is off, then pls let me know. -

Is this the one that we ran the other night?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes, it's the new one in Founder's Falls. We ran it this past Sunday night (The 5th).
My husband didn't want to do Task Forces on two nights straight in a row (Sunday and Monday night), so he didn't join us for that run. Now he wants to run it. Thus the very odd Thursday night TF.

Man my Alt-itst runs deep ... too many to choose from. I'll find one to bring ... it might very well be my most recent lvl 50 Captain-Mardi Gras who is a fire/kin troller ... need to respec him first though.
Man I wish I had me some purples though ... -
I hate you Chicken. Hate you!!!
Ok, enough ticket roll rage ... -

One week from tomorrow this starts again. So 7 days to get your toons to at least 10!

Ahh ... only lvl 10 ... man I might have to change the toon I'm using then... -
Thank you for the posts guys. That was the information I was looking for.

Bronze>Gold (if you have the time to wade thru the chaff)
Bronze >>>> Silver
Avoid the 30 lvl since it overlaps and has a LOT of chaff. 35-40 seems to be a nice sweet spot.
Don't be afraid to delete recipies that are junk
Keep rolling until your recipes are filled with GOOD items.
Try that and see what you think. -

This is a community... Luna just helped us remember... I for one want to thank her.

AGREED! Well said. -

Only the devs have access to this info and they won't share.
[/ QUOTE ]Understood but what has been you experience? -
So I've now been around long enough to see a pattern of certain Powersets that players use but I wanted to check with the forum gods to see your thoughts as well.
Here are the powersets I see played the most:
Defender
Emp/anything
Tanker
Stone/Stone or Stone/Fire
Inv/anything
Controller (this one is easy)
Fire/Kin
Blaster
Fire/anything
Elec/Elec
Scrapper (This one is not as easy to determine)
Spines/__
Claws/
Is there a way to see the exact amount of Powersets used in the game? Like 50% of Controllers use /Kin or something? -

Honestly, any MMO with loot is going to end up having a few stupidly rare items. At least in CoX anyone, even casual players, can eventually get any item in the game. Play a 50 long enough and you will end up with enough inf to buy even the PvP 3% defense IO. It may take a long time, but it's possible. Compare that to many other MMOs where it's literally impossible for a non-hardcore player to ever get the top loot because doing so requires a lot of raiding for non-transferable items. Like in FFXI, where there is a boss that requires dozens of people on a 24 hour raid to defeat it.You can probably count the number of times it's been beaten on one hand. Or WoW's "grind raid dungeon A for months to get gear so you can grind dungeon B for months so you can get gear to grind dungeon C for months..." format. The worst I've seen was Earth and Beyond, where there were items that gave crafters a huge advantage by boosting item quality... and the items were hyper-rare random drops that had a drop rate of around one per year per server.
Needless to say, they could not be bought at any price... the only one I ever heard of being sold went for a large chunk of real-world cash.
Compared to that nonsense, a billion inf for the game's rarest IO isn't that bad...
[/ QUOTE ]So is THAT what I should expect from my light hearted Hero based MMO I started with my 8-year old son in January?

...And join us on some Horde activities ... every Monday night and then some.

Rednames said they want players to be able to level 1-50 in AE. They would need to change their strategy to remove the XP.

Has there been any behind the scene discussion if the Freedom Horde will participate as a group during this event??

Well, as you may -or- may not remember, last DXP weekend I ran the "Come Crash with Mr E" series of TFs/SFs - I have not broached the subject with my wife...as of yet, but I think you can plan on seeing me to post something up.
[/ QUOTE ]
And depending on what E has going on, I might post up something for the time period he's running his Static Team. I'm already planning on taking that Friday afternoon off, just for the ability to play before it gets too laggy.

I took off that Friday as well. I'm sure that Long-Shots and I will be around. It would be great to get him in on a TF with some Hordies ... He'll probably bring his lvl 50 IO'd emp/dark 'fender Robot-Officer to whatever party you guys are having.
I've got some other stuff to bring including a new 'bout-to-get his-IOs-Fire/Kin. Might be cool to try and get some accloades or badges. -

If the goal is to get people to PvP the rarity needs to be not so rare to make people not want to bother and not so common as to make them pointless.
I think they would probably be best served to have more PvP sets where we have rare ones and very good uncommon ones which would entice people to want to PvP.
[/ QUOTE ]
That firt point has been thrown around plenty, but your suggestion here is actually a pretty good idea! I hadn't thought of it, but it makes perfect sense. You can double the amount of recipes, double the drop rate and still have the same effective drop rate on the rare ones. In fact, they could probably 1.5x the drop rate and effectively LOWER it and people wouldn't care because they're still getting SOME kind of cool drop more often. I like it!
I suggest you drop that idea over in the suggestion forum. I'd /sign it.
[/ QUOTE ]
Not as cool but easy to implement would be that they could let you get regular drops too, right? I mean I'd be happy geting a random drop. Hell it be cool to drop ANY recipe maybe some of the really low level ones even. Just something better than nothing... -
Umm ... this is from the JANUARY double XP....
-
Ahhh V ... good stuff. That and the A-team of course.
-
I would personally look into using merits to buy something like LotG +Recharge, sell it and then buying the recipe I want ... I'm at work but I think that would net you the recipe AND a nice bit of INF to work with .... also look into crafting the recipe before you sell it ...
-
... and common salvage will be very rare after double XP weekend ...
