Right, BAB was essentially talking about gambling for better rewards; and gambling's no fun if there's no chance for loss. (Or, rather, if there's no chance for loss, it isn't really gambling.)

Quote:I think the best assumption to take with the in-game storylines is that you the player are the main character. There's other supers around you, but they're just incidental. On SuperMcVillainDude, Silos is only ever assigning his task to SuperMcVillainDude (or SuperMcVillainDude's team). On DarkDarkittyDarkMan, Silos is only ever assigning his task to DarkDarkittyDarkMan. On HolyPaladin of Justice, Silos is only ever assigning his task to HoloyPaladin of Justice. Each of your characters is in his own universe, and you're always the main character. This explains why each of your characters saves the world or screws everything up the same way each time.If we are to believe it's the same universe this would seem to mean that Silos is just messing with all the heroes/villains OR it is assumed that only one hero/villain gets to Silos and the Villains side comes first and then at some point Silos decides Heroes are right...
Or, if you don't like that interpretation, the letter sender is right, you shouldn't trust Silos, and he's just messing with everyone using alternate timelines. (Actually, this second interpretation is supported by the Paragon Time article September 27, 2007.)
No, Silos is Nemesis. It's not even a question any more. And neither Manticore nor Protean are Nemesis, considering Nemesis was born generations before either of them. -
Quote:1. I was adventuring on Striga Island the other night and thought to myself, "Gosh, what a missed opportunity". I was looking at that volcano in the distance and remembering the Incredibles.... Rocket... Bad Guys....
OK let's spell it out for you. Let's say that instead of constantly running around after council or 5th column in tunnels there was actually a classic rocket ship being built in the volcano of Striga. The Council or 5th column would be building a moon base with a death ray to hold the world hostage. This would make a terrific task force mission. Especially since the last part of the mission could include taking a rocket to the moon and fighting the bad guys there and taking down the death ray.Quote:Isn't the Ernesto Hess Task Force all about defeating Archon Burkholder before he can complete the giant robot he is building in the heart of that same volcano?
Wish granted!
Quote:The Egyptian Gods were actually space aliens who have returned and set up a base of opperations in rivalry with the Rikti. For those of you thinking Stargate, I'm actually thinking more Dr. Who and the Osirans.
Quote:3. We need some permanant locations with static maps. I.e. the map is always the same when you enter like City Hall.
(Okay, the floor inside the main entrance to City Hall is special because of faked reflections, but City Hall itself isn't special.)
Look, I'm really sorry about this, but... Peregrine. It's a bird, a falcon specifically. The fastest diving bird in the world (>200 mph). -
Quote:No, several of your suggestions are in fact difficult within the current game, based on previous comments by the developers. In particular, #2, 3, 14, 16, and 17 would be somewhere between "difficult" and "downright impossible" without essentially a rewrite of the game's core facilities (which is about as costly as making a new game, at which point... why not make a new game and stick it on store shelves?).For Devs with a proper set of tools (which I'm certain they have), most of this stuff isn't particularly DIFFICULT...just...tedious...very...very...tedious .
Similarly, #6, 7, 13, and 15 would be possible, but require a significant investment of time and/or resources; most probably far more significant than the outcome is worth.
The rest of your suggestions are closer to what I would call "simple". Tedious or not isn't the question here. (I do make distinctions between 'simple' and 'trivial'. Something 'simple' can still take a month or more to work on.) -
Quote:Big masks keep on floatingBanished Pantheon Shaman: (Singing) "Sweet home, Dark Astoria... where the skies are so grey... Sweet home, Dark Astoria... everywhere should be that way..."
Fly me home to see my kin
Singing songs about the graveyard
I miss Astoria once again
And I don't think its a sin, yes
Well I heard mister Ventiir sing about her
Well, I heard ole Baako put her down
Well, I hope mask Ventiir will remember
A graveyard man don't need him around anyhow
Sweet home Dark Astoria
Where the skies are so gray
Sweet Home Dark Astoria
Lughebu, I'm coming home to you
In Salamanca they love the governor
Now we all did what we could do
Now Eastgate does not bother me
Does your conscience bother you?
Tell the truth
Sweet home Dark Astoria
Where the skies are so gray
Sweet Home Dark Astoria
Lughebu, I'm coming home to you
Here I come Dark Astoria
Now Muscle Husks has got the Bonnies
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lughebu they take my head off so much
They pull me down when I'm feeling alive
Now how about you?
Sweet home Dark Astoria
Where the skies are so gray
Sweet Home Dark Astoria
Lughebu, I'm coming home to you
Sweet home Dark Astoria
Oh sweet home baby
Where the skies are so gray
And the governor's true
Sweet Home Dark Astoria
Lughebby
Lughebu, I'm coming home to you
Yea, yea M'teru's got the answer
THANK YOU TIKI ROOOOOM! -
This, so much. Dr. Q has several missions which are identical with no real reason. The duplicate missions could simply be deleted without any real change to the story at all, and that would probably cut the time down to 3/4 of what it is now.

And BAB said that (paraphrasing) if the challenges gave rewards, failing the challenges should have similar punishments (eg: succeeding the time challenge gives +X influence, failing the challenge costs you X influence). He also said that it was his personal opinion, not the general opinion of the development team, particularly since he wouldn't be in charge of such a task if it were to be implemented.

But Neuron (Praetorian Synapse) is! He built the Silver Clockwork

Oh look Becky! Like check out all the total hunks! I told you we should have come here.
You are like so right Cindy. I am just like totally psyched to be here right now. Oh My God check out THAT one!

Holy crap, has the definition of "simple" changed since I went to bed? *jaw drop*
Some of those suggestions are simple, sure, but others are on the opposite side of the universe in comparison. -
Quote:To be fair, that's not really true. Each time Lusca pops up, there's one tentacle far enough away from the head and the other tentacles that you can kill it off just like any other GM. So long as your team can kill a GM, you only need 1 team to fight Lusca.Lusca takes at least 2 teams if you plan to succeed in most cases.
Of course, it still takes a while. -
Quote:Well you're on the EU servers. Nobody plays there, duh!I'm not actually so sure about this. I'm running an SG with one of my friends and we're currently 3rd on the "top SG list"... on Union.
Quote:Big SGs are kinda stupid in my opinion... Let's say you can only have 8 storage bins and 100 people... well...
When you have 8 people, that is 30 spaces for each.
when you have 16 people, that's 15 spaces for each.
When you have 32 people, that's 7.5 spaces for each.
When you have 64 people, that's 3.75 spaces for each.
When you have 100 people, that's 2.4 spaces for each.
and you can say that with more people you can get more storage quickly but that's useless if you're allowing everyone to access it and if you are...then you are not actually gaining storage space over all.
Quote:And as far as recruiting, I have my own SG... been trying to get people to join and stay in it since I started it, but because it doesn't have everything in it just yet and I have an odd sleep schedule they leave so meh... I gave up...maybe in several years I'll get people to join and stay and by then my base will be complete. -
I don't think I can agree with that process. Sure, I don't hold the most common usage of Fortitude, but it's both an offensive as well as defensive buff. Holding onto it until someone's in trouble is a waste of half its effect, I think. And since it's +def, waiting until there's trouble to use it is just asking for critters to get a few lucky shots in under the wire, wasting the entire buff and making you use Resurrect.

City of Data: Lingering Radiation:
...
Regeneration -5 for 30s PvE only [Ignores Enhancements & Buffs] -
Quote:Stalkers have already been buffed to make them more team friendly. Whether the playerbase on the whole knows/about accepts those changes is not a mechanical problem with stalkers.Quote:Nothing. Stalkers were already changed to be more team friendly.
What needs to change is player opinion of the AT which isn't going to happen any time soon, because, really... players are dumb.
The devs made a few changes to Assassination (AoE tohit debuff and Terrorize if the target doesn't die, among other things), and now there's little mechanical reason for Stalkers to be unwanted. Snide remarks, &c. are the result not players not realizing the change and/or lingering memories and/or experience with bad Stalker players who just stealth to the end of the mission without helping the team.
The changes that need to happen to make the closed-minded people to accept Stalkers is to make them open-minded, which... well... um... yeah... -
What the proc actually does is grant a temporary set bonus to the target. Just like other set bonuses, it's limited to stacking 5 times.
On the other hand, the recharge floor is -75%, so while you can stack it 5 times, the effect only does anything up to 3x stacking. (Of course, if the target is getting +rech buffs or is a player with recharge enhancements, that's another matter.) -
Quote:So? My highest level Empathy Defender doesn't even have Heal Other. Healing isn't what makes Empathy a powerful set, and if you just try to use the healing, you're going to tire yourself out playing whack-a-mole instead of playing City of Heroes.I find that most Controllers who pair with /Emp doesn't heal very well.
Quote:all your buffs and debuffs... you keep your eyes on on your teammates. -
Quote:Couldn't you monitor your stealth radius instead?Well, I use this only on toons that rely on "stealth"... specially stalkers, widows and banes. It updates faster than waiting to see the hidden status appear.
Edit: And hold on, Cloaking Device, Mask Presence, and Hide don't reduce your Threat multiplier, anyway. -
You must actually download the file somewhere on your computer, and then run it as an administrator.

Quote:The combination of your defense and their tohit is floored at 5%, just like every other entity in the game (including players). However, the floored tohit is multiplied by accuracy. AVs have a rank-based accuracy of 1.5, and +4 critters have level-based accuracy of 1.5.Actually i think i remember reading somewhere , that AV's have a toHit floor of 7.5% as opposed to the standard 5% ...
1.5 * 1.5 * 0.05 = 0.1125 = 11.25% chance to hit with floored tohit. -
Reading the archetype boards is generally not a good representative sample, since that's where people go to ask for help with builds, so that's where you'll se a bunch of builds being posted

You are downloading from http://cohplanner.com, correct? What exactly is the error?
