A Few Random Ideas--That Could Be Really Good
1. I was adventuring on Striga Island the other night and thought to myself, "Gosh, what a missed opportunity". I was looking at that volcano in the distance and remembering the Incredibles.... Rocket... Bad Guys....
OK let's spell it out for you. Let's say that instead of constantly running around after council or 5th column in tunnels there was actually a classic rocket ship being built in the volcano of Striga. The Council or 5th column would be building a moon base with a death ray to hold the world hostage. This would make a terrific task force mission. Especially since the last part of the mission could include taking a rocket to the moon and fighting the bad guys there and taking down the death ray. |
2. I made some suggestions several years ago about new villian groups for COH. I'm going to take a moment reiterate a few of them. a. Egyptians: two approaches could be used here, 1) The Young Sherlock Holmes approach where an Egyptian Cult has infiltrated the city and is pulling shenagans... they would make a good rival villian group for the COT's. Or 2) The Egyptian Gods were actually space aliens who have returned and set up a base of opperations in rivalry with the Rikti. For those of you thinking Stargate, I'm actually thinking more Dr. Who and the Osirans. b. Aztecs: the agents of some lost colony of the Aztecs come to town and start causing trouble...Can give a whole new meaning to Montezuma's Revenge. c. Undead Pirates: create an infamous pirate captain and crew, have him sail into town, raid paragon city to take his revenge, as he promised 300 years ago. |
Those undead pirates....like the ones in Port Oakes?

5. There needs to be more than just Paragrine Island for the 45+ characters. It seems that once you get up into your mid 40's Paragrine Island and the Portal Corporation is the only thing happening. Maybe 'Going Rogue' will change that. But if not, then there needs to be more zones for 40+ characters. |
The AE is still open for business, even if the PL'ing crowd is no longer farming it in screaming droves.
Oh, and Cimerora is pretty popular for the L45+ crowd, if all those calls I hear for ITFs are any indication.
The Aztecs...Banished Pantheons aren't close enough, eh? Those undead pirates....like the ones in Port Oakes? http://wiki.cohtitan.com/wiki/Spectral_Pirates |
Undead Pirates... Hmm, well I had no idea there were Pirate Ghosts in Port Oakes, mainly because I'm a hero not a villian. However I was refering to a zombie crew not a ghost crew... which would be different... and a real pirate ship which would sail into Paragon City IP and Talos not the Rogue Islands.

Wish granted!
That being said, I wouldn't mind more missions where we could see the Doomsday Device being built in the evil mastermind's fortress and it was our job to stop it from happening.
I also wouldn't mind being the evil mastermind coming up with a way to take over the world and following my plan through to the bitter end.
New story arcs coming soon (ARC IDs will be aded when I finish the arc):
So, you want to join the Hellions? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Sparks & Steel (level 5-20 Heroic arc)
and
So you want to join the Skulls? (level 1-14 Villainous arc)
Egyptians and Aztecs would be neat.
Hequat (The Snake's Goddess) sort of falls into the Aztec theme, possibly even the Egyptian theme (if her costume is anything to go by) but she's possibly the only one.
Who knows, with an Incarnate system perhaps we will see more influences of this kind? I certainly hope so.
As the Ancient Greek and Roman pantheons feature quite prominently, there's a good enough reason to include Egyptians (Horus, anyone? Kheldians? Perhaps they were the 'highly advanced' lifeforms that made Egypt so great?! Okay, maybe that's been overdone in sci fi and fantasy...).
And seeing as the Aztec Empire was so close to home, as far as Paragon is concerned, it'd be nice to see some consonant-happy heroes/villains/ a group based around them.
I understand why they'd avoid the Norse pantheon (even though a certain company don't technically own the rights to a whole civilisation's mythology). But there's also the possibility of expanding the Hero 1/Excalibur/Arthurian Legend in the future.
I agree with the notion that some new maps for public buildings would be cool. Especially with painting stealing, the scope for a TF (or one-off missions/mission arcs) involving a museum and mummies etc! For now though, it's up to players to create their own stuff in the AE and wear the correct underwear on the right day to get folks to play (or, advertise the arc ). And imagine.
New tilesets are, I believe, coming with Going Rogue. With more planned for the future.
As for pirates, undead - the game already has them. Villains get to face them fairly early on in missions and Heroes have to wait until Croatoa and then again in Peregrine Island (they're ghosts of a sort by that stage). Plus there's the ghost ship as has been stated, and the zombie apocalypse.
Of course, the ship that disappeared (Paragon/Rogue Isle equivalent of the Marie Celeste) is an unexplored avenue.
Good ideas. But I think it will be a matter of time rather than anything else.
Hequat (The Mu's Goddess) sort of falls into the Aztec theme, possibly even the Egyptian theme (if her costume is anything to go by) but she's possibly the only one.

Some of the groups you suggested seem a little out of place. They sound more like the complete silliness of CO's enemies then ours. Plus, I like Ghost pirates better than zombies. Zombies are just overused and boring. but that's just my opinion. =P
Plus the whole "Doomsday device" TF with Striga is already done. Except instead of a rocket in the volcano, it's a giant mek man. The Ernesto Hess TF revolves around stopping it from being released into the city.
45+ zones for heroes are the RWZ (very fun place I might add) and Cimerora. Though here's a little advice. If you're resistance based, go to Cimerora. If you're defense based, go to the Rikti War Zone.

Isn't the Ernesto Hess Task Force all about defeating Archon Burkholder before he can complete the giant robot he is building in the heart of that same volcano?

3. We need some permanant locations with static maps. I.e. the map is always the same when you enter like City Hall.
|
(Okay, the floor inside the main entrance to City Hall is special because of faked reflections, but City Hall itself isn't special.)
Look, I'm really sorry about this, but... Peregrine. It's a bird, a falcon specifically. The fastest diving bird in the world (>200 mph).

We need more types of locations for regular missions. The standard fare of: office building, ruined office building, warehouse, old warehouse, freighter interior |
Most of those sound really good. I especially like the new map ideas.

a. Paragon City Library-- this should have several stories and have stacks with books. This could serve several functions among which are fights over rare books with varous villian groups, someplace to which players go for clues, and reference materials for various back stories. The library might also have stacks on the history of paragon city so that players can go in and read up on COX Lore. Additionally there could be access to underground tunnels.
b. The Paragon City Art Museum-- there's been a need for this for a long time. There are several missions where you have to go stop the Council or 5th column from stealing a painting, and to be perfectly honest the office building, looks like an office building, not an art museum. There could be various wings with different types of Art on several floors. It would be a blast to have a fight in there with a number of breakable objects.
c. The Paragon City Historical Society-- Includes the Museum of Natural History... think Night in the Museum. The possibilities here are endless for the types of adventures you could have.
4. We need more types of locations for regular missions. The standard fare of: office building, ruined office building, warehouse, old warehouse, freighter interior, tunnel 1, tunnel 2, Hi Tech, Bank, Police Station and Oroborus are getting a little worn after 6 years. I understand that we'll be getting some new content with I-18. I'm hoping that will include some new scenery.
If not here's some suggestions:
a. Department stores.
b. Supermarkets
c. Athletic Clubs: gym, pool, courts (tennis, basketball, racketball), locker rooms
d. Book Store
e. Car Dealership
f. Train Yard
g. Amusement Park
h. Night Club (that looks like a night club not a converted warehouse)
i. Restaurant / Cafe'

OK that's my two cents. Thanks for reading.
