Quote:We're also missing over half of Rularuu's naughty bits. I wanna fight Chularn the Slave lord and Uuralur the Mirror. I want to explore the Factory Cubes and the Garden of Memories! This so hard.
The Shadow Shard zones are, and have since their initial release, been some of the most interesting and original zones in the entire game. They've got a great epic storyline, about as much lore as the rest of the game put together, one of the most interesting villain groups anywhere and... pretty much nothing else? It's just been sitting there for the last 14 Issues without any additional content. It's got 4 of the largest, most visually interesting zones in the game, but they're completely empty except for the TFs. What's worse is that there are people that have absolutely no idea that these zones exist because they're hidden behind a single zone portal in PI with no other mention.
The Shadow Shard needs some serious lovin' bad. -
Quote:Pre-order goodies are not paid for, unless the store you ordered from is scummy. You're not supposed to pay anything extra for a pre-order, so the CoV helmets and prestige sprints were free in the first place.I dunno. They did do the Pre-Order costume stuff for CoV, and the special sprint powers. CoV was also "given" to all CoH players that had never purchased the Expandalone, and CoH was "given" to all CoV players that had never purchased CoH. So the precedent is set for paid stuff from the past to be given away for free.
You could make an argument for opening up CoH and CoV to the opposite side, but I don't think it would be a very strong case. -
Quote:However, I do not think that another $10 in-game goodies pack for the CoH CE stuff would be entirely unwarranted or unwelcome (granting the Prestige Power Slide and Cape of the Four Winds, along with the VIP/Destined One badge)The Prestige Power Slide came in the CoH collector's edition and as a payed for extra will never be given away free.
... and this is coming from someone who went out and purchased the CoH CE for $80 -
Elves are wonderful. They provoke wonder.
Elves are marvellous. They cause marvels.
Elves are fantastic. They create fantasies.
Elves are glamorous. They project glamour.
Elves are enchanting. They weave enchantment.
Elves are terrific. They beget terror.
...
No one ever said elves are nice.
Elves are bad.

Quote:Datamining shows otherwise. The number of players with access to either Arachnos Soldiers or Kheldians is a small fraction of the number of players who do not, whether because the player is new or because they succumb to altitis. This is also why the EATs have traditionally been a low-priority item for development, and why the devs vowed to never again make an EAT unlock with a level 50 after they created the SoA -- too few people actually unlock them. The entire community (with the exception of trial accounts) has had the opportunity to get a toon to level 50 since Issue 1. The prerequisite for EAT's has been spelled out since their inception: "Get a toon to level 50" for Kheldians, and since changed to "get a toon of the same hero/villain faction to level 50." And judging by the endless litany of "AE farm team LFM!" broadcasts I see redside, it can't be THAT hard to get a VEAT.
The vast majority of the people who are farming, AE or otherwise, already have level 50 characters. They're farming either because they dislike the low levels, because they want more loot, or because they want to make a character ready for PvP.
Consider this: lowering the EAT unlock requirements to 20 means many, many more people will have access to them. This means it will be more worth development time to improve them (see: large percentage of players with lv50 heroes who dislike Kheldians) or their stories (see: pathetic SoA arcs) -

Those calendars are for 2008, though. Master_Blade created some 2009 calendars, and I assume is working on 2010 ones as well, but they're not official. -
It means you're not supposed to say that you can see it.

Quote:I'll grant you Frostfire, but I would say 3K Kelvin (Hellions EB available as early as level 5) is more difficult than Atta.Serious question: in the 1-15 level range, which villain content EBs are stronger and more difficult than Frostfire or Atta?
Granted heroes have less, but IMO they are significantly more powerful.
The hardest part about Atta is slogging through his gigantic mission. -
Yes, Dominators wouldn't really benefit from attacks in their control sets, but Controllers certainly would.

Notice that not only does this screenshot display the effects of "Touch of Lady Grey: Chance to One-Shot" (6,592,610 damage to the Thorn), it also displays the effects of "Touch of Lady Grey: Chance to One-Shot SELF" (72,995.1 damage to Paradox Mundi, 72,995.1 damage from Paradox Mundi)

While I agree with your general sentiment, I think Force Fields hurts somewhat for what it provides the team ("I can give you defense, and... defense, and... more defense, and... I suppose I can knock guys around a bit") -- even Sonic Resonance provides both resistance buffs and debuffs. Control sets in general (particularly Controllers) would benefit from some attack powers, similar to Lift or Propel.

Quote:No, you need to already have a CoH/V account in order to apply GR.It also contains base CoH for those that don't have it afaik.
That is EXTREMELY unlikely. -
Many people feel they "need" Stamina.
Quick Recovery, available in Regeneration and Willpower (except for Stalkers) is better than Stamina.
Now, I would argue that picking up Stamina is rarely BAD, but never NECESSARY. Except maybe on my Fortunata who constantly runs Indomitable Will, Tactical Training: Maneuvers, Tactical Training: Assault, Tactical Training: Leadership, Maneuvers, Assault, and Tactics, has Hasten on autofire, and spams Mind Link and Psychic Wail whenever they're available... :) -
While suppressed, the Defense granted from [Stealth] is equal to the Defense granted by [Combat Jumping] or [Hover]. (While not suppressed, Stealth has twice the Defense of CJ or Hover)
So, it's not that much, but it is something. -
Heh, I like that las tone, M_B

The only way you're likely to get a developer response is either via a PM, or maybe in the Discussion - Ultra Mode, Issue 17: Dark Mirror and Going Rogue! thread. But the answer will probably be the same if you do get a response.

Quote:Kalinda and Burke are contacts, not trainers. If you do a sufficient number of missions for them, you already get their number, too.Getting the phone number of the trainer you started out with(Libby, Babs, Kalinda, Burke)
The trainers on Mercy Island are Arbiter Diaz (near Kalinda in Fort Darwin) and Arbiter Richard (in Mercy city). -
Neither of those images are showing up, Wolf.

Considering the devs don't answer questions in the forum for players asking for player answers, I'll respond: They're not referring to a new set of EATs.
Can I guarantee that statement? No. I am neither a developer nor a tester. However, the likelihood of I17 introducing a new set of EATs is approximately nil. -
