  1. Make use of contact paper instead of masking tape. Spray your primer coat, mask the center area where the blue circle and white star are as well as a concentric circle for the white stripe, then spray red. When THAT is completely dry (Make sure it is COMPLETELY dry!) peel off the center circle and apply a new mask in a star shape, and mask over the red stripes as well, so everything that isn't meant to be blue is covered. Spray blue, wait for complete dryness, remove mask. Afterwards it may be a good idea to add a transparent topcoat as a finish.

That's all probably redundant info, but as tips for dealing with the domed surface: Use a pencil to mark the edges of where every piece of your contact paper mask will go. That should help line things up when applying things, and if you leave like 1/8 inch between the edge of your contact paper and your pencil mark and draw lightly, the colored paint will cover it.

For making the mask for the white stripe, if you cut out the contact paper in a circle to begin with it should lie pretty close to the domed shield's surface without wrinkling.
  2. Re-posted from the All Things Character Art thread, where it didn't belong:

Chest emblems have a problem with Z-buffering and alpha channels when used over the Buckled Leather top using its native color mask.

This happens only with the Buckled Leather top in the Buckled Leather color mask, for all chest emblems, regardless of whether there is a jacket or, if there is, whether the emblem is set to Under or Over, or whether it is a Male, Female, or Huge model.
  3. Female chest emblems have a problem with Z-buffering and alpha channels when used over the Buckled Leather top using its native color mask:

    Well, how about that!

    My own ideas -

Carnies: Lion tamers. Whip attacks like the Demons whip, only colored purple and doing psi damage, and the Beast Mastery lion pets.
Nemesis: Cavalry lieutenants. THAT STEAM HORSE NEEDS TO BE IN THE GAME.
Council/Fifth Column and Malta: Give 'em some Snipers. Actual Snipers, like the Nemesis and Crey ones - like, as a second version of the Marksman enemies for the Council and Fifth, and some new guys in ghillie suits for Malta. Also, make Crey snipers appear more.
Midnight Squad (Primal Earth non-zombie version): Red lightning. It'd make perfect sense for some Midnighters to be of Mu ancestry, and a cool bit of flavor.
Devouring Earth: Why do none of the existing mobs use Plant Control powers? I propose "Spore pods" - stationary objects, similar to turrets, that spam Creepers at anything nearby.

Oh, looks like the real Golden Girl is back. She was sounding far too reasonable lately.
  6. Low-end graphics in Praetoria and the new Atlas Park are horrendous enough that I wish Atlas had never been changed. It's uglier now than it was before, unless you pony up for a computer that can render fancy graphics settings.

    a) hurts like heck through a rib pad.
and b) won't injure yourself using it.
If you don't like it you can just go on using the original Thunder Kick animation. I was asking for an addition, not a replacement.

Frosty_Femme and Zachary_EU understand! And really, right after the Sci-Fi Pack release would be a perfect time to give it to us...

  9. It does not contain a karate chop.

Seriously. We have a Martial Arts set, in our comic-book-superhero game laden with almost as many cliches as it can hold, and not a single one of its fancy-pseudo-ninja unarmed melee attacks is a karate chop.

Solution: Make karate chop animation, allow it as customization option for Thunder Kick.

Please do this for me, devs.
  10. Gosh darnit, now I have to reroll my Dark/Storm corruptor.

Nah, there was never a phone involved. You call him by yelling "FAATHIIIMMMM" really loudly.

I know, right? For once she's talking sense!
  13. I hate the music notes. I chose Sonic blast for my Defender because it was a nice, subtle, GENERIC ripple, because he actually doesn't have anything to do with sound at all (apart from tricking people with words). Please don't force music notes on him, and if they are added, add them as an alternate option so I don't have to reroll a level 50+3 Incarnate.
  14. I propose that this be made an option for all Magic-origin Beast masterminds.
  15. My Fortunata, Oougel, is an escaped Arachnos science experiment in hybridizung human psychics and Soldiers of Rularuu who remains displeased with their original intent to mass-produce her and use her as a tool. She cuts them down wherever she sees them, regardless of level, and picks missions against them preferentially. As a young demigod who views Primal Earth as belonging to her, she also naturally takes umbrage at any extradimensional invaders, including Rularuu.

My time manipulating Controller/Defender (two versions of him) is always pleased when his enemy-of-the-day turns out to be Nemesis, because of an IC event a long time ago in which Nemesis made a disastrous slip of the tongue and let the Hour Thief into his vast stores of spare time, and has yet to get him out. He also finds it somewhat cathartic to fight Malta, the Council, and the Fifth Column, as a WWII veteran who lost friends to the Might For Right act.
  16. Unfortunately, moving things that would normally cover the ears to the Ear category would prevent people from using them with the animal ear options, which would not just be covered anyway.

  18. I mean the one Positron and Valkyrie stand under, in the center of the map - Google turned up "a hero sacrificed in the Rikti conflict" but no specific name... was the character ever named?

    Brilliant! Thanks!
  20. You know what would be a fantastic thing? A filter for saved chat logs. I wish I knew how to make it because if I did, I would start on it right away - digging through thousands of lines of help chat, global channels, combat logs, sometimes even broadcasts to find one conversation in local is... doable, but unpleasant. Wouldn't it be great if you could just run a program, open the log from the date(s) of your choice, and tell it not to show the channels you're not interested in? Or even better, tell it to show messages sent between one time and another? Seeing as timestamps are all the same number of characters long, channels might be detectable by checking which characters appear that far into each line - emotes and combat log messages might be tough, seeing as neither is labeled with a channel, but it would still be much better than no filter at all.

Folks with programming knowhow - would this be difficult to do?

However, there are either 0 or very few Nodes (attachment points) left on the player skeleton, so those details would have to be tied to another detail... like belts (i.e. how Longbow have extra pouches attached to their Stealth-style belts) or Legs like how an additional pad can be added to a Clockwork Thigh piece.

Regardless, however it is done, I want it. (Oh, and a quiver.)
I propose adding it to the Skirt/Shorts node, seeing as they probably wouldn't let us have thigh details in conjunction with skirts/shorts on account of clipping anyway.

Yeah, a lot of people can say a lot of things. They've said they'll bring it back, but until they say anything resembling when, they can't be held to it.

Yeah, they have plenty of options. The easiest is "eh, forget it."

At least you HAVE the Celestial armor. I, meanwhile, am 19 tokens away from the full set, which means that I have no chance at all of getting them all before they disappear forever 10 days from now.

If the marketing people would give us any inkling of WHEN they will supposedly return to tier 9, then I would maybe start to think of their promise that "No, really, we swear we'll give you another chance at it, honest" as something other than a crock of horse apples.
