I've had a thugs/psn for a while and I've finally decided to finish him off. I took a look at some of the builds out there but I think what might work best for me is a ranged defense build for the MM.
Is it worth it, or should I go for +HP?
This would be for PVE only for the time being.

C'mon Hazy, lets go!
Lets setup some time(s) to go hunt in Monster Island over the next week so we can fill up on EOEs.
I've never done a Hami Raid but I can't imagine it's that difficult.
I think the challenge here is getting 50 people together. I don't think there are even 50 people left on Liberty. -
What's the goal? I suggest one to 2 focus areas.
Such as:
+HP and +Recharge
or
Ranged Defense for the MM
So on and so forth.
I don't see any particular focus with this build.
The one thing that REALLY stands out is that you didn't yake Howling Twighlight. You NEED this power. It is one of the best debuffs and an autohit stun and has a nice little side effect of rezzing multiple teammates if needed.
I use this extremely offensively solo and on teams (hint: you don't need teammates down in order to use it). I don't think I can express here how GOOD Howling Twighlight is. I'd sell my mother for it. Heck, I'd sell your mother for it.

Because the protbots have 'em and that's good enough. I could skip detonator but I get some sick pleasure out of turning a bot or two into scrap metal.
I did spend some time thinking about it though. -
I just wanted to pop in here and say thanks. I made some adjustments to the build you provided and had a lot of fun playing him today. It's neat to have the mastermind and all pets (except the protbots) softcapped as long as you keep 'em in the FFG pocket.
Bots are typically ranged so I had next to 0 issues fighting council and cot at +2x4. I would maybe lose 2 bots max when more than 1 group was aggrod in normally overwhelming situations. It was pretty slick.
Here's the slightly modified build which softcaps to AOE now (before it fell just a percent or 2 short):

Errrrrm, why not have an OPTION in the OPTIONS menu to turn on or off the prompt.
Oi vey this isn't difficult and something they should've thought of to add. -
You know I had thought about this before but never posted it. I want a bind that will target a certain rank.
We have /targetcustomnext name
So /targetcustomnext fake will target Fake Nemesi (I think that's plural for nemesis). /targetcustomnext archon wll target Council bosses, so on and so forth.
How cool would it be to have /targetcustomnext boss
I think it'd be useful for x8 teams.

On the PC you can try running ipconfig /flushdns at a command prompt and trying the updater again.
You can try this multiple times.
Another thing you can do is create an additional shortcut and bypass the updater.
If you need to run the updater to apply a patch you can use the original shortcut.
"C:\Program Files (x86)\City of Heroes\CityOfHeroes.exe" -project coh
Change the path as required for your setup. Also note it's CityOfHeroes.exe and not CohUpdater.exe. -
You can checkout support.cityofheroes.com. There used to be a network tool which would ping the updaters but I wasn't able to find it.
If he wasn't able to previously connect it could be a firewall or a port issue if he's on a campus or something.

If you're familar with the registry you can try deleting the CityofHeroes key (I don't remember the exact name or location). -

Just a guess here but are you running a mission at a lower level than the proc's level? Try running a level 50 AE arc and see if it procs.
It might help in narrowing down the problem. -

Virtue has issues and they've acknowledged those. I'm not sure about Freedom. That aside make sure you have updated video drivers.
Since there's no COHHelper and HijackThis, it's all a bit of rampant speculation.
2mb of RAM is a bit low. You should have at least 2gb.
On Liberty things have been fantastic since the latest patch. The only rubberbanding and power delays are in the ITF but that has always been plagued.
Yes it could be server specific issues like the problems on Virtue but I think if it were an issue on Freedom more people would pipe up.
Animation issues on staves and Cim door bugged? Minor. I think the last patch was a big step in the right direction.
Hopefully things get better for you. -

Thanks for updating the patchnotes Avatea. The input lag fix (lowering the priority and whatever else they did) is absolutely fantastic. I've been able to dual box, stream music, do everything I was able to do before with UM settings bumped up.

So far so good! The game is running at Normal priority now and I can stream music like I used to do without any sound stuttering or lockups.
Needs more playtesting but this is first impression.
