Okay.
Here is a lovely man in a dress. He is not gay, and he is not female.
Here he is again. You can see he is not TRYING to pass as a woman. He is not a drag queen. He is a man in a dress.
Here he is, not in a dress.
Dresses are just clothing. I'm a woman and I choose not to wear them. Eddie is a man and he chooses to wear them. He should have that right as much as I do. And he is far from alone, but any example busts an absolute - especially a totally bigoted one.
Also - you needn't be transgender to be a biological man wearing a dress. You needn't want to be a woman, or trying to pass as a woman. I went to school with an absolutely scrumptious young man who wore a black floor-length broomstick skirt to class every day. He was very straight, and did not want to be a woman. What he wanted was to wear a skirt. -
Quote:Sadly, you are wrong. As a lifetime subscriber to that other MMO.There's a reason why Professor Tolkien's books, with their stringent linguistic rules and high tone, have been adapted into video games but not his. And if I tried to play a character named after one from Bored of the Rings in one of them, I'd be breaking immersion (and would probably get generic'ed by a mod).
Quote:Well, hobbits do tend to have pastorally themed nicknames, so it would probably have gotten by. Their actual names have very different rules of construction, though, so Prof. T would have given a gamma for that. He was, after all, profoundly obsessed with the linguistic aspects of his fantasy world. The success of his books unfortunately has ensured that most would-be writers of high fantasy often become entangled in their attempts to devise their own ersatz high elvish and the like.
People HERE give a lot more of a crap about names than there. Especially now that the game's been ruined by F2P -

If I created a comic book about a character named "Wolverine", depicting a giant rodent righting wrongs among forest animals, I could argue in court that it had nothing to do with the famous X-Man. I might even win. However, the cost of defending my creation against Marvel/Disney's legal team would make it not worth my time or money.
Wolverines aren't rodents, they're weasels.

I've been playing since launch and have a handful of 50s. I've gotten a handful of purples. A literal handful, across all my characters, I do not think I've seen more than 5 or perhaps 6 drop.
Then last week, playing my partner's fire brute, my fire corruptor and my husband's ice blaster, we all got multiple purples. None of us are 50 - the brute is 47 - and we had the number of players tweaked up to huge masses of mobs, and we are all AOE specced. I got three, the brute got 2 and my husband got 2, over 1 week of playing that trio two or three times that week. It was pretty crazy.
TL;DR: lol rng -
LOLOL Isn't it fun to watch? I'm enjoying the meltdown of people pulling out their hair and screaming "YOU CAN'T DO THAT! I'M NEVER WATCHING ANOTHER EPISODE!"

Quote:Yay! I apparently won a Party Pack with Merry's Steampunk/Resistance comboThere's some great stuff in here, guys! Be sure to post some of these on Facebook and tag them with "City of Heroes"; we'll pick one image and give away a Party Pack!
Which is great because it's the only pack I refused to buy.
Wootz! Air guitar time! -

Quote:Yup. Check my sig.Cynicism is understandable and my first impression is the same as yours, but IIRC, the last few times this argument came up, several players provided a complete analysis of costume pieces made available issue-by-issue. The reality doesn't match that first impression. There has been no change in the rate that these are made available.

I can't do just one. I will do three instead... sorry.
1. Power Pool and Epic pool customization.
2. Reorganizing the costume creator - the menus are a freaking MESS. Just some freaking housekeeping.
3. Change the way respecs are done (like leveling - power, slot, power, slot) and make it so the game remembers what my bars looked like, instead of filling them with every temp power I've ever earned and making me fix it all every time.
It'd be NICE if they'd stop restricting us from mixing certain costume pieces and give the big bulky coats to women too, but I'll stick with those three. -
* Complaint about how tired we are of lists on the forums.

Quote:That's right, folks! If you have a problem with something - MOVE ON! Stop complaining and suck it up!Yeah, I agree with this, too. It's not that the OP isn't mildly amusing, it's just that there's still a lot of crap going on around this stuff, and it comes off as needlessly antagonistic.
Or it could be that we're really tired of this argument, we're tired of umpteen threads being created and even more being hijacked, and it's long past time to move on.
Seriously? -

Well, no one forced him into a group to write comedy posts either, so there's that

Merry Delivery, a character I created as a very tongue-in-cheek homage to the UPS hottie from a "this thread delivers" macro, went Resistance today. Her Resistance outfit is an amusing blend of Resistance and Steampunk pieces, I really like the way it came out. And of course, as a DP/Kin Corr, she's using the Perfectly Potent Pistols from the pack too

Oh please, please please. Seriously, PLEASE.
I pretty much only play in a duo or trio consisting of my husband and our best buddy. This would be absolutely PERFECT for us. -
Quote:Really should put something to that effect in the launcher window for those who don't come to the forums then.Hey all, we're current investigating this. For now, I would not suggest making characters in those slots.
Thanks

I was SO EXCITED to see the 7 new slots, considering my home server is full and I was considering buying more... Here's hoping we get to keep it!
