  1. I've gotta ask anyway... But I take it the target taking that damage that you recorded had the same res on lethal as it did on energy?

Having PvPd with both sonic and arch, I always felt like my sonic would hit harder... The moment sonic hits once those numbers would change in sonics favour.
  2. Combat Attributes doesn't show a lot of things that get DR.. gg devs

As for blasters, on that build I would probably pick up man over assault... on most blaster builds tho assault IS the preferred choice.. You should have more than enough rech and kb protection without having to need that extra bit... Dmg from sets and assault can put u up around the 30-35 mark without bu and aim, helpful on down time... Also 50% res to placate is kinda nice also, placate proc wont last more than 2 seconds most of the time.

Edit: I thought it was a different build posted.. Stay with assault.

Edit again: Looked at the build properly this time, you wont get away with running assault with that amount of recovery...

And Yeah damage gets DR, its by no means "slammed" on a blaster tho, it defintely comes out better than everything else a Blaster has to play with.. Even after 100 Dmg bonus, adding more you still still see an increase in dps.. It doesn't hit a brick wall as quick as things like To-hit, def, res, rech.. DR affects each AT differently, Blasters are staight up damage toons.
  3. I don't have time to sit down and list a bunch, but a few that I tell new players to learn...

    Keep moving in a zone.

Expect to be attacked at anytime. Need to be fast to react to an attack, what I find with PvErs is you attack them and by the time they have reacted it's already game over.

Learn all the ATs out there and think of ways your own build can combat them before rushing into a fight. Help them work out what their build may be effective on, and what will roll them so they have a heads up..

Most importantly, be polite!! Don't react to **** talk in broadcast. People will be much more eager to help you/farm you less.

Oh and you dont use shout in arena unless your target is about to hibernate.
It can be used quite effectively in maps such as cargo ship, if you time it right whilst jumping behind an object. You deal a fair amount of damage without the target being able to match the damage in that same time as they also only get the chance to have that one attack cued before view is broken... If that makes sense... Just saying there are situations other than hibernate which it would be better to use... I agree though that the majority of a blasters fight is just spamming t1 and 2
  5. Rad on a corr is one of the best to proc out, you need little acc in ur attacks and the rech on neutrino bolt is awesome... So you can gimp the attack with procs without having to worry about ruining the power too much...

I'm not sure for a corr's secondary as I personally have only tried out cold and therm... but my rad/cold is procd up pretty nicely and he does well.

    SG League

I just wanted to put forth an idea and see what the general attitude would be towards this...

Back in the days of Base Raiding we had a lot of fun all on vent working out strategies and generally just having an awesome time with your SG mates... Whilst open zone PvP can often be daunting and pretty nasty at times, Base Raids usually had different aspects that made it fun for everyone... Probably because of the fact that there was more than one objective than just to get the most kills.

With Base Raids coming back what looks like to be sometime after GR, I'm guessing the new system is going to be pretty sweet, I am also hoping that the Devs give it a nice incentive for groups to participate in Raids...

What I was thinking is having an SG League, using the SG rumble function in the arena... Getting a bunch of SGs to register, then pairing off groups every week / fortnight... It can be left to the groups when the actual fight takes place, so long as its done within a week or fortnight, whichever the time is set as.

Now I know PvP has a very bad light shone upon it, but in a battle this big it isn't all about having an uber PvP build that will win them... It would be the SG who is the best at working together and coming up with the best strategies... It would all be a bit of fun and to prepare liberty server for when Raids come back.

I just wanted to get peoples opinion on this... soo..

    1. Would you participate in something like this?
    2. Do you have any ideas/suggestions that could perhaps make this work?

This would rely heavily on a lot of the PvE groups joining in.. as PvP is pretty much dead on Liberty server, there aren't many organized SG PvPs left so you wouldn't have to worry about that so much... The majority of the fights would be mostly PvErs.

    Best Trash Talk

lol... was just in RV on a stalker with another stalker... Regen scrapper saying he can't be killed us, 10 seconds later he's dead

Scrapper - "That didn't count because I wasn't looking at my health bar"

That is, unless they completely changed it in the last 2-3 months. I haven't used it in about that long.
For trollers thats right... Defenders still have a repel TK though... I am not sure vside, why theres two different versions of TK running around is anyones guess.

Typically my projects are either damage dealers, or support specialists. Likely, I would play in zones, but arena is fine with team. I would team in any case as I would really be useless solo, and I think the idea was to find a team that would capitalize on my ability to knock people down. Perhaps I'll start a sg called "Kick em while their down" and bother fiteklubbers (love the term) who try to do it in the zone.
hehe, that would be kinda cool to see, especially if you can get a bunch of scrappers or something with [kick]... seeing as its some uber power now

    (3) What slotting for Levitate and Force Bolt is recommended IO-wise?

Answer: Levitate is your damage move, slot it as you would a ranged attack. I use Devistation for the damage bonus, you're gonna need it.

And if you take forcebolt then slot it with force feedback for it's damage and recharge bonus. You can overcome acrobatics easily with a very high mag knockback. It's still the same for melee characters, you won't be able to knock them down unless they are mezed, or you have some very insane kb numbers. With a full set of force feedback you can get a mag 50 knockback, diminished of course.
Yeah not many squishy toons get their KB high enough to stop a force bolt.. thats lots of fun... But for the Melee toons that have KB protection in their main powers you won't be knocking them back at all, as the KB protection dropping while mezzed was corrected a cpl of months ago.
  11. similiar to i12 for damage toons maybe...

Why 6v6? Not just because of the lower population - but also because of the reduced effectiveness of disruption and resistance buffs. 8v8 could be a bit hectic, that's not to say that we shouldn't plan on doing them, though.

    Thoughts?
Sounds much better, I have never liked large fights with i13 PvP... It was one of the reasons I was hesitant about transferring to freedom.. 5v5s and 6v6s are good
  13. Nobody LoL... but if it's for a zone build, for Freedumb in particular... I would take RoF over Blazing Bolt... Be grounded for that long in a Zone full of stalkers isn't fun, the only time you could safetly do it is when you are base sitting... which I guess depending on your time is how the zone usually goes... I'm not saying the snipe is crap, I actually have both Snipe and RoF in mine, and I love the snipe to death... Especially as it allows you to jump around mid animation.

Rain of fire though, is just teh awesome for stalkers... It will usually guarentee you can get out of hibernate and avoid being ASd by 4 stalkers... the Interrupt time on AS and cast time on RoF are pretty much the same, if you are fast enough... which usually as you have the advantage of knowing when you will come out, you can interrupt an AS... I've used this a lot now, and only a few of the better stalkers managed to beat the time... One AS though isn't that bad in itself.. the movement supression on them from RoF makes it so once you jump away during mid cast... you can usually make a get away... Of corse theres the fact that eventually you use this too much and some of the smarter ones might eventually catch on...

Apart from that though, it's just great for stalker dehide, or for helping out your allies which are also in hibernate... All I can say is from my experience it's helped a lot in zones, more than my snipe anyway in a packed zone.

As for your build, I would definetly invest in the apoc proc for flares.. and the chance for hold is too good to pass up... I've got 5 apocs and the hold proc in mine... I would lose some slots in SJ also... put a cpl more in stamina like the above post said... Theres a few slots which could be used elsewhere.. I just dont know where at the moment... I would also put kismet in your frozen armor, unless you're planning to be in combat jumping alot... as you only get that bonus once the power has been turned on... you could always just keep clicking it on and off to get the bonus.. its just easier if its in a power thats always on.

For that you will Probably need to swap the places of frozen armor with Hibernate.

Anyway if I think of anything else I will post later..

    Just integration

Thanks for the advice, and I'll certainly remember it. One of the biggest things was I thought it was common practice to not use insperations at all in a PvP fight. Since that's not the case, I'll definitely not let that hold me back in the future.
Yeah thats what we call Fightclubbers, basically they get their melee toons and stand next to each other and take turns hitting each other on the head... using inspirations goes against their honor?
  16. You will learn the fastest if you can get some experienced players to take you to arena and basically show you the "tricks" to PvP, I say tricks as that is mostly what distinguishes players from each other when PvP got nerfd... Theres plenty ways to play against stalkers without them effecting you much... The main thing you will have to get used to is always expecting to be hit by a stalker, if you don't have your 'Oh Crap' powers or some inspies on hand ready to counter their alpha strike then get into a situation where it would be very difficult for them.

Whatever anyone tells you, there is no fair play in a PvP zone... use whatever you can to come out on top.

You can learn from getting beaten over and over again in a PvP zone, it just takes a bit longer as you have to find out on your own how best to counter certain situations.

But nobody is in there when they can go out ToTing in game.
Yah I have had a toon on justice, if RV is alive there... then its a party on all the other zones.
  20. Has anyone else tested it yet? I don't want to be giving everyone false hope >_> I notice a difference but it doesn't seem to be as long for me as a shout
  21. I can definitely tell a difference in grounding... I don't know if its on par with shout though, it seems to be a tiny bit more than a blasters fireblast, 1.8sec maybe
  22. I just tested it then, there is definitely a longer grounding time on dark fire.
  23. I have two fire corrs one had dark and he was the only one affected... although the grounding wasn't as bad as you said, I changed him back to bright fire and it ran fine though.. then again this was a week after i16 went live, it could have gotten worse.
  24. wow ok I havn't suffered from it being that long... this is sarious!

Is it every time you are using it or just every so often?
  25. I've found this problem when I use the power customization with Dark Fire setting, Bright Fire and Original seem to work fine for me still... Thats for my corrupter... it seems to have a blasters animation time which is 1.67 instead of the corrupters/doms 1.2... The grounding of fireblast on a blaster has been a pain for awhile, unless its worse now? my blaster hasn't seem to changed in the last week or so
