Recluse's Victory Zone

So, I was picking up some badges the other night with my 50 Blaster, and was wandering through Atlas Park and came across the Recluse's Victory Zone. So, with nothing better to do, I decided to take a peek and see what this was all about. Now keep in mind, I have been playing since Jan. 09' and this is the first time I ventured into this place...lol.

Based on what paragonwiki describes it to be, my head started to hurt after reading what you had to do. It was sort of like "rub your head and pat your belly", then switch it up and then "pat your head and rub your belly". Needless to say, I was a bit confused on what this zone does other than protect your area and get a few badges. When I was flying around, I only noticed one other player in the zone. I also went over to a couple of the "bubble" type markers and clicked on the bubble and appeared to have activated some kind of weaponry.

So, for those of you who have done this before, in a nutshell, what does this zone offer. Second, can it be solo'ed (based on what wiki says it can be) third what issue was this zone added and finally, does anyone go into this zone anymore or has this gone by the wayside like some of the other PvP zones I've been to such as Bloody Bay and Warburg for example? (This is only an observation from my part that it seems the PvP zones are very unpopulated these days).

It's because this game is not geared towards pvp and the Devs never planned the pvp to be anything other than a quick add-on so they can say "Our game has pvp" it really doesnt and the Devs could give a flying crap about pvp and the pvp population.

CoH/V is entirely a PvE game, you want pvp goto WAR, WoW, TF2, Counterstrike ect ect.

RV is usually alive on justice, and i heard virtue is the same. Usually just over 10 people, problem is some have different times zones and so not all the pvpers are there at once. But it's all regular/good pvpers. I prefer quality.

But nobody is in there when they can go out ToTing in game.

In RV there are 3 hero heavies (level 54 elite bosses) and 3 villain heavies.

There are 7 (i think) pillboxes, which have 4 level 54 bosses (turrents) around them.

You can get the heavy and kill the guns for xp or drops. After you capture 4 or something, the zone slightly changes to the colour of your side. And when you get 6 you "win" the zone.

Also when one side is slightly winning Atlas changes Recluse, and his cape is kinda in the way of people who like to fight there...

Anyway all that stuff is extra, the only reason people really go in there is to kill heroes or vilains.

I prefer the Siren's call layout. RV is so flat, and it's hard to jump off a building at someone when they arn't really around.

It's hard to tell if there is PvP on your server or not with Trick or treating, and ever since AE farms were taken away all the pvpers here are trying to level their toons.

I made my Fight Clubbers Posting Guide for people like you.

Break this apart and think about it.

"RV is usually ***alive*** on justice"

"just over ***10*** people"

"not all the pvpers are there at once"

This is a prime example of not thinking before you post and/or you just being too ...... to know any better.

Most of us don't define "alive" as "empty unless there are two or three Stalkers who can't even get an AS off on a grounded target."

There are very few good players on Justice who haven't already made the move to Freedom, and for the most part the Balmont crew is not in that group.

its an open zone where every power in the game is available to pvp with. the only other place this is possible is in the arena and the zones avaiable there are usually smaller or big but empty and boring.

and to sentry4, justice is usually the same 4 or 5 people rotating in different toons and while they are good people it gets old pretty fast. on freedom, there is literally always going to be someone to pvp with/against and during peak times you'll see several full teams on each side going at it.
i used to spam justice /ac for hours to no effect while now i log into freedom and there are already matches recruiting waiting for me.

The Balmont school is full of the best pvpers i've ever seen in 4 years between different servers. I used to play Champion, virtue and even freedom. There's only a small handful of people i've seen take 8 heroes and 2 heavies at once, just to kill them 1 by 1 until nobody is left.

It got to the point where every tourny on justice ended up being the same 6-8 members of the school going against eachother, so they started holding tournies of just them instead, since that's all it ever got too. I was a part of one once and got totally destroyed by toons that weren't even their mains.

The "crew" is pretty much dead now. The best player amoung them left a while ago and Vince just recently switched games himself. Dave is still stuck on i13 pvp and only fights no DR if he's on. I don't even remember the others.

lol... getting a team of 5 MMs and camping one spot in the zone takes epic skill, yo.

The only halfway decent person from Balmont's group was Vince. The rest of them are actually really bad.

Vince said he wasn't the best. Stone brute the 1st or someone else was. He won their tournies for a few years until shin's ele/therm. I know it's easy button now, but at the time she was the only one on the server, and just dominated everything.

Daves dom on no DR was awesome too. Took some duelers that i still can't take today.

The MM stuff was just for fun, when heroes were winning or ganked their toons they would all go get their MMs.

Which tournies would those be? I recall Shin entering a grand total of one tourney on his Elec/Therm, and I'm pretty sure that was the lolfiteklub no inspires one (yeah, it takes lots of skill to win a no-inspires tourney on an Elec/Therm). Shin wasn't the first Elec/Therm on Justice either, I'm 90% sure Dream and Deth had them first (but I forgot, you have no idea who those people are because you have almost zero experience with the better players on the server).

I have no idea who "Dave" is. I also know that fighting against a squishy in a DR-off environment is doomed to fail (75% resistance to everything, mez, and high ranged damage? Come on.). No one's been dueling with DR off since they added the option to remove heal decay, and it's probably going to stay that way until we get an option to turn off base resistances.

The funny thing is, those MM huddles still wouldn't get many kills. However, it's completely expected for a group of people who can't coordinate damage spikes and play support characters well because they're all full of the "me me me!" mentality to get facerolled by a coordinated and balanced team. More often than not, the Balmont people would outnumber the heroes in the zone, but because they were either all on melee builds or were just really bad at playing the support characters they were on, it didn't make any difference at all.
