  1. This game doesn't really play all that well with multiple videocards and even less so with CrossfireX. Then again not sure if anyone checked with the new 11.9 drivers.
  2. Well you aren't reporting a bug but more asking why a power doesn't accept an enhancement type or set and that's something players can't answer.

Maybe it's an oversight or maybe it's as designed. But I doubt you will get a real dev to answer your question. The answer might be found in discussions over a year ago when GR first came out but that's not a search I'm willing to pursue.
  3. Finally watched this episode tonight.

It appeared to me that the shell of the warehouse is intact.

I agree with Thug, I think H.G. Klein Bottled the force field. Putting the bomb in it would probably destroyed the town. The warehouse is in the middle of nowhere in a state whose population is less than Rhode Island's and is 120 times larger. At the very least it would have killed Lena and Claudia.

And never underestimate the power of a gold pocket watch when time is involved.

It looks like this year's Christmas episode (what, is SciFi ripping off the BBC now), is going to be a riff of "It's a Wonderful Life".
  4. My grocery store had Halloween candy displays up the beginning of August.
  5. Well considering how the studio "developed" the 55 year old short story, it was a natural product tie-in.
  6. Once you have filled in all of Tier 8 and unlock Tier 9, just think of the Tier 9 VIP slots as just 3 extra options for reaching Tier 9 and having a subscription. Don't think of them as another Tier.
  7. Simplest reason is a Server Transfer costs them nothing to give out but points do, since the only thing you can buy nowadays with actual money, other than a month or more subscription, is points.
  8. Surprised to see they swapped Batman with Generator Rex in the schedule. Maybe they are curious to see how it affects ratings of the shows before and after it.

    Generator Rex - Meh. Filler.

Young Justice - A good episode. Occurs the day after last weeks. I don't think Connor is use to hormones yet. More Robinisms. Nice to see Captain Marvel.

Batman - Fairly long pre-opening story. Had a SuperFriends feel to it (not a good thing). Still love the fact they use the old Wonder Women TV theme for her.

Ben 10 - First thing I thought was "yea! cultists!". The surprise was interesting since I totally forgot about his true form. It's been like two or three seasons.
  9. Well there were trees full of tiny pterodactyls so the native wildlife may knew better than to go scavenge there.

Also really good drugs in those field med kits.
  10. I got it last night, I think my problem was a firewall permission problem due to the version changing due to the new patch. I had to exit and restart and then ZoneAlarm, the firewall I use, popped up the "let this connect" message and when I allowed it I got to the EULA.
  11. Well the 2nd gen 1155 chips are at least 10% faster than the old 1366 CPUs at the same clock speed. Add in the difference between CPU clock speeds, the ease of overclocking with the 2nd gen 1155 Vs the ole 1366 i7s then it's more than just a horizontal upgrade.

Some people hate MSI with a passion, some dis Gigabyte because they haven't adopted the new UEFI BIOS standard and some poo-poo ASRock as the Chevy to Asus's Cadillac. I don't think any of these brands are that much better or worse than another. Some only have a few models while others have nearly a dozen.

I've chosen ASRock in my two current builds for the price while having the feature set I'm looking for at each price point. If price wasn't an issue then Asus does have some interesting models from the point of view of added features.

There are a few review sites that do rate games where 5 is average, and they usually get called out by developers, publishers and fans when a game that get a 8s and 9s on other sites only get a 6 or 7 on theirs. What then generally happens are those 5 is average sites stop getting invited to events or offered sneak previews or review copies before release. Let's face it, the fastest way to kill off a review site is to force them to publish reviews days after a release of major games.

There is also a movement within publishers to award bonuses to development teams based on aggregate review sites like Metacritic because publishers know that gamers have been conditioned to believe a game with an under 70 rating isn't worth spending $60 on. Especially around the holidays. Too many games, too little money.
  13. Free players can't trade until they are Tier 2 of Paragon Rewards I believe. Tier 2 costs one more Paragon Reward token which he will get if he buys 400PP for $5.

Unsure if you can drop enhancements on him that he can then sell.
  14. Since it takes three tokens to unlock the whole set I can see them keeping it around for at least three months.
  15. Well it may simply be that the easiest way to gate creation of an SG was to lock a Preemie out from talking to the SG rep. Side effect is a Preemie can't pay rent.

    How to dual box?

Yes it's better. People have noticed the background session will likely map serve if it's not allowed to render something.
  17. That was interesting.

So is it his baby or fetish man's?

Daughter reminds a mix of Winona Ryder's Lydia from Beetlejuice and Victoria from Heathers.

Love Jessica Lang's character and the housekeeper.

"You don't want me to kill you again."
  18. What Steve Jobs did was to notice the better way of doing something even though others may have discounted it at the time. He would ask the questions that everyone else thought were already answered.

He may not have been an engineer or a software designer or even an industrial designer but what he had was a vision of what technology could be that others may have discounted or ignored.

Reminds me for the quote from the 80s version of The Fly.

"I farm bits and pieces out to the guys who are much more brilliant than I am. I say, "build me a laser", this. "Design me a molecular analyzer", that. They do, and I just stick 'em together. "

He saw that GUI/Mouse was better than a command line and three letter commands and we end up with the Mac.

He saw MP3s taking off and could see a market for a MP3 player that had enough storage for people to take all their music with them. He later was able to convince the record companies, dragging and screaming, into the world of digital distribution.

He saw that people wouldn't mind having a PC in the living room if it looked stylish and trendy so we got the fruity iMac followed by the luxo iMac and finally the large, thin all in one iMacs we have today.

He saw that people wouldn't mind losing the optical drive out of their laptop if it meant that it was lighter and very thin, the MacBook Air.

He saw that controlling the hardware and the OS you would develop a laptop that could, from a practical point of view, last all day on the internal battery instead of simply making a "me too" pick two laptop (weight, battery life, performance).

He saw mobile phones that had downloadable games and took it to the next level.

He saw that having control over both hardware and the OS meant they could design products that could last all day (from a practical standpoint) on the internal battery.

None of these things used some revolutionary technology that Apple invented. All the tech already was out there but under Jobs Apple was able to give people what they wanted they knew they wanted it. They were able to combine these parts and make significantly better than what came before.

    His vision will be missed.

On one hand you can rate things with a normal distribution where 0 is extraordinarily bad and 1 is extraordinarily good with 0.5 being average. This makes the most sense from a mathematical point of view.

However most all of us were conditioned by schooling where 75 out of 100 (a C) is considered average and below 60 is considered failing.

So while so review sites try to rate movies, games, whatever on a pure 1 to 10 or 1 to 5 scale where 5 or 3 is considered average simply too many of us won't accept, even if it's explained to us, that a 5 out of 10 or 3 out of 5 as average.

Take Rotten Tomatoes. They report the percentage of reviews that "passed" on a pass/fail grade where 60 out of 100 or below is fail. School grading mentality.
  20. What confused Star Trek fans when DS9 was announced were "what no Enterprise?" followed closely with "what, Star Trek where people don't go anywhere?".

Voyager had the problem with the whole cut off from support of the Federation and have to go it alone, yet the ship didn't end up a patchwork of alien technologies to fill the gaps of parts they couldn't manufactured. Instead all we got was odd looking fruit and vegetables and food that we are told taste and smell different.
  21. He's the head of science not medical and she works in medical but could do either. And when starting up something new it's usually better to get people who can where multiple hats.

So it's conceivable that she didn't know he was there or that he was the head of the science group since she was probably more concern about smuggling the little one there while breaking her husband out of prison. Good thing she didn't spend all that money on an apartment in a dome.
  22. Or is it a show about people in a harsh untamed wilderness?

    Crashing issues.

Have you updated to the 11.9 AMD drivers? They seem to be the current stable ones for this game, before that it was 11.4 or 11.3.
  24. Well I can't say I've seen any other TV show that homaged The Birds. All that was missing was a school full of children, but they got to terrify the youngest anyways.

Liked it well Dad fumbled dinner when oldest daughter asked him "when do you know a boy likes you?". Too bad soldier boy got knocked out as soon trouble starts.

Who didn't guess they were going to go the pheromone route? Anyone? Bueller?

So now they added old love interest into the mix for Doctor Mom.

Nice to know that both the son and Action Girl Syke got punished for their stunt last week. Wow, cause and effect on a network show. Does this mean it won't be shown out of order?

Also looks like Taylor's 2nd in command Washington seems to have a bit more than a professional concern over his well being. Nudge nudge wink wink.
