The GTX 560Ti is a good card using it's own GPU rather than a "modified" GPU from the GTX 580 like the 570 or the 560Ti 448 cores.
If rumors hold true, sadly the 660Ti will be a "modified" version of the GPU used in the GTX 680 rather than it's own GPU. The low end 600 cards are just rebadged 520 and 440 cards so I'm a bit disappointed with nVidia. I guess because the GTX 670 and 680 are so power efficient that they decided they don't need to build a dedicated mid line GPU based on their new GPU design. -
Don't know how you got +3 tiers from an 8800GTS 512KB (assuming the 512MB version, nVidia's naming convention got a bit wonky back then) limits you to only a 580/670/7950 which are +7/+8/+7 tiers away. But you got the money so...
Looking at the combined performance charts with the latest card review at TechPowerUp we see the stock GTX 670 performing around 17% faster than either the GTX 580 or HD 7950.
Now to compare it to your old card, according to Tom's Chart the HD 7750 is one tier higher than your old 8800GTS 512MB and compared to the HD 7750 the GTX 580/HD 7950 is 2.6x faster and the GTX 670 is 3x.
Now the GTX 670 is a real power miser when compared to the GTX 580, 75 watts less gaming. The HD 7950 is also very power efficient and uses about 10 watts less than the GTX 670.
I think any of those 3 cards are serious overkill when it comes to CoH, unless you are running some multimonitor setup or with 16x AA or some other card crippling tendencies. -
The 570 is about 20% faster and uses 50 (gaming), worse case (furmark) 100 watts more power according to the charts at TechPowerUP.

TonyV, the login is an HTTPS transaction, I'm on dial-up so I can see things in "slow motion".
Still the change to make us use the same login/password as the game bugs me to no end. -
Quote:Except many people conform to society as the get older and have kids of their own. Then you get the pressure from the grandparents who don't find the 4 year old cussing like a sailor "adorable".Because an older person was raised in a time when cursing was considered a lot more rude than it is today, so they're more likely to find it offensive. It's not ageist unless you suggest that an arbitrary old person who has not expressed their opinion on cursing would be offended, because you're drawing a conclusion based on their age. In this case, we already know that the older woman in the article was offended, so it's not unreasonable to assume that her age is the reason why. And this really only applies to the current generation of old people, it wouldn't be applicable 20, 30, 40 years down the line. So, not ageist. Generationist if anything, but again, not even that in this case since we already know what the woman believes. Nice try though, A for effort.
re: monkeyslap's hilarious backpedaling: lol
I admit there is creep in our acceptable language word list. There are words that I consider quite mundane that my mother vehemently objects to. Last night I was watching Rizzoli and Isles (hey I'm a sucker for a couple of pretty dames) with close captioning on and the language that was allowed on the air that was censored in the close captioning was hilarious (several different B starting words were allowed to be spoken but not spelled out in CC).

I solo a lot nowadays (due to tiny pipe and game changes that make teams larger than 2 a problem and nobody is willing to play without a full team at all times) and until recently have stayed away from the Incarnate content for that very reason. So now they've came up with a way to solo the X number of currencies and salvage needed for most Incarnate slots, except the newest. /facepalm

Well 50,000 bytes per second is bad for dial-up, it's pretty trivial in terms of broadband. Even the 388ms Ping isn't that bad. It's the lost packets (the red in the graph) that are killing you.

It's just some studio person insisting that an Avengers cartoon HAS to relate to the movie in hopes of holding interest until Avengers II.
They tried the same thing after the Fantastic Four movie but the series wasn't very good. -
Actually sweet and savory does work together, it just seems odd to the general public.
That combination is similar to Hawaiian Pizza, Pineapple and Canadian Bacon. When I first heard of it in college I was like "yuck" but it's pretty good. A pizza shop a few towns over has a peanut butter and bacon pizza which is very good but heavy. Most people can only handle a slice or three. -
A young, 22 year old Courteney Cox, fresh from Misfits of Science. Talk about cheese.

My take.
The Engineers are like us, from a world(s) with multiple factions who are now at war. They are looking to develop a bio-weapon that will infect and destroy the population of an entire world. The Engineer in the beginning isn't from the same faction as the later one. His ship isn't a horseshoe but a solid disk. He seeds this world and modern man develops.
LV-233 is a weapons development complex and the remaining engineer sees/senses that we are spawned from the other faction and wants to go off to drop his payload on Earth. The Xenomorph relief may be an indication that it's a species that the Engineers are looking to control by weakening them to a degree (they are simply to lethal to use in their natural state). The ship found in Alien may have simply been a Engineer ship overrun by an original Xenomorph species and it crashed on LV-426 maybe centuries before this movie is set.
As for my opinion of the movie, it was meh to me. Snow White and the Huntsman flowed better than this film. Technically the film was great. It was beautifully shot, the cast was excellent but it just didn't ... well flow from scene to scene well. It wasn't suspenseful and it wasn't all that scary.
It reminded me of the time I saw 2001 for the first time. I was 6 with my dad and first you had ape-men then you where in space, then a space station, then the moon, then another ship with a mean computer and then a pretty light show that ended with an old man in a bed. I couldn't see how that was all connected in a coherent plot at 6. Prometheus sort of made me feel like that again. It seemed disjointed. -
Quote:Now you did it, I'm getting flashbacks to The Big Lebowski.I know at least one character that has Jesus in his name. There are likely others as well.
Don't forget, Jesus is also a Hispanic name. Jesus Alou was one of the Alou brothers that played professional baseball, Jesus Guevara was a Venezuelan boxer (several boxers from various countries have been named Jesus), Jesus Quintana was a character in the film The Big Lebowski, James Jesus Angleton was the Associate Deputy Director of Operations for Counter-Intelligence of the CIA (ADDOCI) from 1954 to 1975, and too many more to list. -
Quote:It's usually only a warning based on the age of your video driver. Since the 945G is "old" in computer years, your drivers are likely old enough to trigger the warning.I wanted to help with the video driver, mine is Intel 82945G express chipset family, and when I open the game says I need an update, and I was wondering what I install and where to find.
This is a link to the Intel Download Center when you search for the 82945G chipset. Select your operating system in the middle selection box and driver in the rightmost selection box. You should now have a list of graphics drivers you can download. Choose the most recent one.
Note that the latest one is still several years old and is just as likely to trigger the warning message.
I hope this helps. -
Why yes, I do own a pair of cymbals. Why do you ask?

Well the actress, Rinko Kikuchi, is 30ish but Asian women generally read young. They are probably shooting for young 20s, just out of the Academy.

DARPA invests in "Surrogates". Sadly the article's author, like most people, only saw Avatar.

Bem-vindo ao City of Heroes. Como outros apontaram o site ParagonWiki é uma boa fonte de informações sobre o jogo.
Espero que você encontre este jogo agradável. -
That's one clever feature I liked about that 800lbs gorilla of an MMO when I did their trial version years ago. Sit in a chair, lay down on a bed. That and their dance emotes, much more fluid.

Other "magical" groups also drop tech salvage while some tech groups drop magic. I rationalize it as since they themselves don't use that kind salvage is the very reason their pockets are full of that stuff.

Please remind me which episodes. It's been a while since I've watched the series. Chiana was always with the sexy and well Zhaan simply liked her sunlight, being a plant and all.
Then again I'm old. Things that would have shocked me when I was young dealing with violence or sexuality/sensuality on TV I rarely notice anymore. I'm like the worst person to ask if a movie is too scary for younger children. -
Quote:I kind of like that idea. Like it better than Koh inspiring a rebellion in the material world.New crazy theory with no basis what so ever. Amon is Aang. Most Avatars live long lives. As in the 200 year range. Aang died at age 66. My crazy theory is that he didn't really die but rather turned to the dark side like Vader. As was said, if you attempt to bend life energy you have the potential to become corrupted.
As a result his soul was torn asunder. So Korra isn't a true reincarnation of the avatar but rather a partial reincarnation minus the part of the spirit that was Aang. This is the reason she can't bend air. It is also the reason Amon can't be fully blood bent. He continuously exists in the avatar state which is what is keeping him alive, but also limiting him.
Eventually it will be discovered and Korra will lead him back to the light. At which point Aang will give up his life force to Korra and the avatar will become whole again and able to bend air.
