  1. Pretty sure the whole thing was accidental. Funny still. Dark humor for sure, but entirely accidental.
  2. A long, long time ago. My rad defender just got mutation, a rez power, and was flying back from a mission in Kings Row and I spotted a downed hero in the little clearing with the big rock next to the tram station so I decided I wanted to rez him and as I came in to land next to him I suddenly fell face first into the grass next to him. So I popped a rez and was quickly put back down a second time. Yea debt. This was when debt hurt, a lot.

Confused I looked around and in the tall grass was a Malta Auto Turret. Soon the bodies started to pile up and a crowd of low level characters gathered just outside of agro range of the gun trying various ways to try and take out the gun (blasters sniping, buffed up tanks trying to go toe to toe while being healed from afar). Eventually calls out to a high level group who may have been the Malta's original target came by and quickly dispatched

  4. Back in CoV beta I had a mastermind named Major Domo-natrix. (majordomo + dominatrix)

In CoV proper I have a Fire/Thermal corruptor Miss Enthropic. (misanthrope + entropic)

Before men had kilts I made Bonnie Scott, a wee lass with a big sword scrapper in CoH.

Then of course my namesake, Father Xmas, because of the shorter character names at the time. I still get a laugh out of players as an 8 1/2 foot tall Santa lands next to them with a mighty THUMP or they notice me standing next to them at the market.
  5. Personally, I'm for Marauder Battlemechs for America.
  6. I've been rewatching a few series over the past month.

Forgot that Planetes actually had a happyish ending. It's still one of the very best series when it comes to realism of space.

Ghost Hunt is an enjoyable series with plenty of scare in a few of the cases. May be to intense for some. No where near as bad as any of the Higurashi series. Nice creepy opening music.

Claymore is very good and I'm currently half way through RahXephon.

I hardily recommend any of these series.
  7. Wonder how long she practiced that bow. She must like Ventress over Ahsoka.

    New Vid Card

    Sorry for being cryptic.

Video cards, in general, draw the majority of their power requirements from the 12 volt part of the power supply. Those two cards will use, worst case, 50 watts of power or about 4 amps at 12 volts. The CPU also uses the 12 volt part of the supply to draw it's power, the Athlon 64 X2 5000+ is rated at a maximum of 65 watts or 5.5 amps at 12 volts. So worse case, about 10 amps at 12 volts for the CPU and video card.

Edit: Just noticed that only some models of the 5000+ are rated at 65 watts, others older ones are rated at 89 watts. You can use CPU-Z to get the stepping/revision of the CPU. F3, G1 and G2 are the lower wattage variety, F2 is the older 89 watt version.

While the power supply in that HP is listed as 300 watts and the problem is the system specs don't list anything more than that online. Now there are some 300 watt PSUs with a 18 or more amps at 12 volts and some I've seen as low as 14 amps from HP/Compaq. You will have to crack open your case and look for the sticker on the side of your power supply to see what it can provide at 12 volts, more the better.

Or you can simply go for it, buy the GT 430 and give it a whirl. The specs from nVidia does say a minimum of a 300 watt PSU, you supposedly have that.
  9. You tweet happy, facebook status update junkies out there need to lay off the double espresso shots and Red Bulls, take a deep breath or two and realize that everything ever scheduled are ideal guesses only. This included doctor appointments, car repair, cable installation and server downtime.

Putting aside my own like of Sucker Punch, it's obviously bombed, but this is a first go at it. Could be that his next original works could be a big blockbuster.
Well that's better than writing him off as a has been like some others. Or automatically assuming the new Superman will be as equally unsuccessful because of his involvement.
  11. The PhysX support only worked with the original PhysX hardware and drivers and never with nVidia's implementation. That's one of the drawbacks of being one of the first kids on the block to support PhysX. By the time PhysX was bought by nVidia, only games that were built on later versions of the PhysX library would end up being supported on nVidia.

So he looks good while directing someone else's story. That's easy enough to fix, just don't let him do another one of his "original" stories.

    New Vid Card

First it's will not be upgrade to that CPU. The motherboard has only an AM2 socket, not an AM2+ which the X2 450 could use. The motherboard specs list the X2 5000+ as the highest CPU it can handle which is what that system should have.

As for video cards, the 300 watt PSU in that system may be a problem as current era video cards like to feed on 12 volts. Both of those cards you list are rated around 50 watts maximum. The GT 430 should be around 50% faster than the 9500GT.
  14. I'll go back and rehash the idea that to the general public at large, the two villains most people know are Luthor and Zod because of the original movies.

The problem with Superman, and let's include Wonder Woman and GL into this, is their powers are simply too great compared to 99.999% of the bad guys out there. Sure a bad guy with a piece of Kryptonite, a bondage fetish or dressing as a banana can level the playing field and ruin their respective day but you aren't going to see a meaty punch to the face of some criminal scum like you do in Batman. And when you decide that the big bad is a planetary scale problem, it's tough to build a movie franchise on that level of threat sequel after sequel.
  15. I've always thought of RahXephon as Eva done right.

    Hello

    Zwillinger

    Sounds like a good idea.

Claim it as your own, we won't tell.
  18. I think she's trying to pull an Eric Flint 1632 Ring of Fire style communal universe with eventual anthologies by professional and amateur writers.

Wasn't there a thread about her requesting stories?

Edit: Ah here it is and they were looking for hero/villain ideas and origins, not stories.
  19. Three if electric guy died. Two if you don't count the Ms Shapeshifter.
  20. I noticed a link entitled "Is A Game of Thrones the next Scott Pilgrim Vs The World?" today in passing at some site. Good to know geek rumblings of excitement means doom now for mainstream media.
  21. As for King, I would say the combo of the super large injection of super juice combined with the injection of the cure (into his eye, nice shot JJ) caused it. Doesn't matter in the long run.

So George has a super power now, go George.

Okay we went from a 1st trimester premie to viable newborn in 5 seconds. So is he going to grow up fast or in spurts? Insert Power Pack/Franklin Richard references.

NSA plays SHIELD. Why not. Also up to this point they hadn't used their powers for anything intentionally bad or against law enforcement and did take down several super villains in the process. Maybe George's lair hacked into one too many databases and initially drew their attention. Or Xena may have started offering services early and they caught wind of that?
