Quote:I admit I laughed at that as well.It has started to get staggeringly high ratings once they included the laser dot jumping around in the background.
It would be even funnier if they included that gag on the show, with her being distracted by a laser pointer.
Funny thing about the lead actress on this series. Her character here can't snog with humans because a kiss from her species, the Mai, can cause paralysis and death.
Last summer she was on The Gates, as a girl who was half succubi and her kiss could cause paralysis and death.
So, overly protective parents? Doesn't like to snog on screen? -
Well the main character is playing the country rube in the big city, way outside his comfort zone. Next is seeing how he handles life in his new school as well as the inevitable supernatural weirdness.

Nothing I've seen yet on number of costume slots and CC emotes. I think.
Speaking for myself I wouldn't think they would be limited. Right now additional costume slots are single missions and I would think a Free player would have access to the basic CC emotes with additional ones for sale in the store. Of course if as a Premium player you have bought booster packs with CC emotes I would expect them like the costume pieces and temp powers, to be available. -
The Nine Lives of Chloe King - Tuesday's 9:00p EDT
She's sort of a superhero at least. So far it's Buffy lite. Then again the first season of Buffy was Buffy lite.
Also did someone in Hollywood buy out the teen novel section at B&N for their series ideas? What's next? Maximum Overdrive? Witch and Wizard? Or one of the other countless vampire/werewolf/witch series. -
Well they bumped up Transformers since it's a long July 4th holiday period and people travel.
-
Anyone seen this series through? Asking because it started on AS Saturday/Sunday and I always think it's interesting when a Japanese series lifts a supernatural being from a western mythos. In this case a Dullahan, a Celtic reaper / headless horseman. Their twist is it's a she, her horse appears as a motorcycle, and she chats online.
Hopefully it unfolds faster that Kekkaishi. -

1GB GTX 460, GTX 560 (not the 560Ti just 560) on the nVidia side, HD 6850 and 6870 on the AMD side.

That's how one uses a shaky cam. Very nice job as always.

The first trailer had a "Now Mr. Stark" so no real surprise.

Well the weekend estimates are out. Let's compare them to the rest of the "Summer" blockbusters 2nd weekend. I didn't include movies whose 2nd weekend earned less than $1000 per theater.
-62.4% - Fast Five
-47.2% - Thor
-53.6% - Jumping the Broom
-50.7% - Something Borrowed
-20.4% - Bridesmaids
-68.2% - Priest
-55.8% - PotC4
-63.5% - Hangover 2
-49.9% - Kung Fu Panda 2
-56.2% - X-Men: First Class
-39.4% - Super 8
-66.1% - Green Lantern (-65.5% preliminary)
-45.0% - Mr. Popper's Penguins (-44.2% preliminary)
Maybe three major comic book movies in 8 weeks is over saturating the theater goer a bit. Let's see if Cap's reviews suffer. Or maybe GL will act as a intermezzo.
Edit: final weekend numbers -
Yes 58%. However if every review was 58% then the RT score would be 0, that's just the way their system works.
-
Well some of the .NET patches will later kick off a series of compiles when the OS believes the system isn't that busy.
I have updates on my system set to notify only. This way I choose when they download and install and I'm aware that that .NET patches do this secondary compile step so I apply the update before I catch up on my shows. -
Four centrifugal fans driven by a common combustion engine using computer controlled vanes to vector the thrust.
This is nothing more than marketing conning science/tech writers into thinking this is somehow revolutionary. -
-
Same thing could be said about a lot of "free" things we get now. Vet respec and free costume changes aren't much of a reward if you never use them. I think Father Xmas has over 80 free costume changes banked up (most from Issues, one per costume slot unlocked, it adds up fast).
-
But still this isn't the heyday when you step off the tram and there are always players visible, flittering to and fro, street sweeping on the way to their next mission. I miss the days of looking up and seeing players flying/leaping by.

Quote:You are given two plus any earned/bought slots "tokens" to unlock existing characters or empty slots. If players before freedom update have a good amount of characters say 6 or more and they go free play, will they lose all characters except for 2 (4 if you bought going rogue)? How can you tell which characters will be usable?
Edit: Here's the thread on the subject. -
Well the Tech forum is mainly players helping players and we got nothing.

Quote:Just about everywhere.now I'm trying to remember where I read Cars 2 was actually disappointing for a Pixar movie...
Problem is the original turned out to be a great kid's film that later raked in the merchandising money, even though it's plot was aimed squarely at adults. Add in the anti-NASCAR sentiment among a significant chunk of Americans and the original simply wasn't as popular with the usual adult Pixar fans.
Now there's a sequel and the story appears to be a simple action movie plot with none of the more serious tones from Pixar's other films coupled with the abundance of pre-merchandising (Cars shaped Purdue chicken nuggets for example) is putting reviewers off even more than the original. -
Quote:No, RT doesn't average review ratings, they simply count good Vs bad and report what percentage are good. Good is at least a 3 out of 5 star rating. So the current 26% means 1/4 reviews were "good".Valid point.
And watching GL, I just don't see the 20% rating as being anywhere near accurate with the film.
I'm not saying this was the best film or even best Superhero film.
It however, was nowhere near the travesty of a film that rating entails it to be.
20% is basically saying it's a 2 out 10 rating. At minimum it's a 5, and I'd more likely give it a 7.5.
Now Metacritic simply averages reviews. It has GL at 39% with the bulk of the reviews in the 2 of 5 stars category. If you applied RT's criteria to the reviews at Metacritic, 9 out of 39 reviews were good or 23%, very close to RT's number.
BoxOfficeMojo readers gave it a solid B. -
The 20% comes from how RT amalgamates reviews on a simple good/bad review rating. So 20% means only 20% of the reviews were positive (actually it's up to 26% now, audience gave it a 58%).
Metacritic on the other hand averages the actual review ratings which is why GL has a 39 (a lot of 2 of 5 star reviews).
BoxOfficeGuru readers gave it a solid B.
I expect it to suffer this weekend due to Cars 2 drawing off the family movie goers and already flushed through the comic book fans. -
He was Evil Ex Number 2, the actor/skateboarder/stalker target Lucas Lee.

According to that JPG the game has used over 12 HOURS of CPU time. Now considering it's only using 40% of the total CPU time, that means you've had the game running for over 30 HOURS. I'm going to say either something's rotten in Denmark or geez take a break and shut the game down. We don't need a "gamer dies in marathon gaming session of City of Heroes" story.
