    CoV RP

Stick to 7pm. People will still make it. If you set it at 9 you'll lose everyone to GG.

Since GG is every day, people can't complain about the VIllian stuff being earlier >.>

    R.A.P.I.E.R.

Not sure Emily would go with a non government sponsored program. If it's someone who's strongly tied to them then possibly.

    The rest sounds good though!
  3. Soaring Horizon leans back in her, slightly too small for her chair, the Claymore she usually bears across her back propped up against the wooden table. After mouthing a few strange words at the seat she settles into it a lot more comfortably and addresses the room.

"Forensics said he killed them, he never even seemed that keen to deny it. That and he tried to pervert the whole system by being busted out if he was found guilty. It's not the actions of an innocent man. "

Sighing she carries on in a slightly more zealous tone "I'll be honest, I think the Freaks practically deserve it, but the laws the law. Letting Heroes kill people isn't going to ever end well. Guilty to all but First it was more a moment than pre-planned."
  4. I've got two heroes that'd be interested.

First of all is Fanservice she's a well..mercenary and free-lance investigator (Not that people ever seem to realize!), who also blogs and remains painfully cheerful to this day. No job too small, long as the money's good! She's tough to kill, has super strength and can create Anti Energy (Like Anti Matter, but for Energy. Just keep the two apart!). She's also totally black and white on the law, you're breaking it or you're not. Fans will be around Security Level 20's by this time.

However perhaps a better fit would be Emily One a fanatic puzzle solver and conspiracy theorist, when she's not doing work for RAPIER she's dragging up mysteries just for the fun of seeing them to the end. She's completely powerless, relying instead on a high powered customized rifle, a teleporter, a strange case of OCD that makes her train relentlessly and her general quick thinking. Emily's not adverse to underhand methods as long as the job gets done. Emily is Security Level 36.

Neither have any uber investigative powers other than Emily being able to trawl the internet and peruse her home computer almost anywhere via a headset, which can be jammed!
  5. To summarise all that!

A Jury for a criminal case is composed of 12 Heroes (Although may be less for this, to keep the flow smooth!)

One member off the jury is elected Foreperson, they are meant to keep people on topic, collect votes and talk to the Judge.

The judge will set the issues the Jury needs to think on, they should vote on each issue in turn.

When the jury meets after the evidence has been presented, they must reach total agreement on the verdict, each should put forward their views and then state their vote. A Juror may change their vote at any time.

Jurors should try to confer openly and honestly, changing an opinion or presenting a case should be encouraged if the person feels it is right.

It is wrong however, to stubbornly refuse to change an opinion, or to try force your opinion on others.

Jurors must make an informed decision, no coin tosses.

Any bad action as show above by the juror can have them charged, if everyone is reasonable, a true verdict is nearly always possible.

Jurors may request further information or help from the judge. This may not be granted depending on circumstance.

Tips to being a good juror.

Jurors should realise that both lawyers are biased, and are presenting arguments. Try not to decide on a verdict until all the facts are in as one side may sound very convincing, only for the other to destroy their arguments.

Jurors should not inspect the scene or discuss the case outside of court. Nor should they meet anyone involved in the case outside of court, nor receive any information from outside of court, if this is unavoidable, they should try their best to disregard it.

Hmm, maybe you should make a list of who's participating? Not everyone got a reply when they asked (Cough cough) and it'd make it easier to see how close it's getting to starting!
  6. Can't we just do this as an interesting ethical discussion and intrigue plot, and not some rather dry legal wrangling story?

Not that it's mine to dictate! But getting technical is gonna be really dull :/
  7. Can sign up for the Jury with Soaring Horizon.

Or I can happily see about setting someone up for prosecution! If you can't find anyone willing.
  8. Also try turn up at Galaxy City from 9pm onwards, near the Galaxy Girl statue. Great place to introduce someone new!

    New SG idea.

Yeah, Hero Corps is a much different beast, they have Lawyers, strict rules and Corporate lines to tow! Sometimes you want people who'll get the job done, without too much paperwork beforehand.
  10. Emily crept up on the Third obelisk, it looked unguarded but you can never be too sure.

Folding out the stock of her rifle into a bi-pod she plants it on a rock and ramps up the internal power, anything following her was going to get cut in two.

    "Obelisk 3 all set"

    New SG idea.

This is sorta what I was doing with Fans early on, but was too lazy to start an actual SG (REsponsiblity? My one weakness!) but I'm looking forward to seeing how this goes! After all, Hero's gotta eat
  12. I can do Tonight fine, can always see who's about.
  13. I am in the clique or not? I want to know if I should get on my high horse.

Well I definitely feel that people should stop accusing others of cliquish behaviour / taking needless offence over blatant small jokes as that's just stupid (Delete as applicable when answer is given)
  14. Would make infiltration difficult if people's powers were colour coded.

"My god, Ena Me's energy blasts are blue! Quick! Pin her down! Break her legs! No no her other legs!"
  15. I don't see how debt makes the game any more challenging. It can make it longer to get to 50, but the challenge level is still the same, it doesn't make the mobs stronger or the missions harder. It just takes longer, which is not extra challenge (Unless your challenging my patience?)

In fact all it did was make PuG's [censored] at each other and break up. So if the challenge was to not frustrate the group to the point of dissolving, then yes, debt did indeed provide a challenge, sort of.

I don't miss debt, but then I thought it was fairly pointless to begin with.
  16. Perched atop a rocky outcrop and taking a moment's respite to assess the situation, Emily One brought up her team mates locations on the helmets overhead display. The red circles were fairly spread out, luckily the lava beasts didn't seem to be organised and so no one was yet getting swarmed. Best to stay up on high though, one bad hit would put her out of the exercise and cause some embarrassment.

Lining up the red dot scope with the head of a beast trying to claw it's way up to her position, it's hands sinking into the rock as if it offered no resistance whatsoever. She braced as the customised rifle pounded several high powered cryogenic bullets into it's open maw, flicking her head back to the action as it fell away to the ground, lifeless.

Warning lights blinking on the inside of her helmet as flaming bolts of magma arced towards her, Emily slid down the sloped side of the rock, firing a smoke canister at the floor to cover herself as she slipped away. Emerging some distance off to see the two beasts looking for her with angry looks she took aim, ready to fire and move once more.
  17. I'm always amazed that people think the people devoted to doing new content are also the people who do bug fixes and the QoL changes.

As if there's one guy working on the game and he can only do one thing at a time.

I know CoH has a small staff, but damn
  18. I think it's because the topic called it "Sex Change" and not "Body Type" and thus we now have people bringing in a whole load of issues about the subject that quite frankly are a bit silly to be even discussing in the context of the topic.

Much like "Let us change our skin tone" would likely be met with approval, while "Let me change from a white guy to a black guy" would probably be a hell of a lot more inflammatory.
  19. I'd happily do a Friday Roleplay session with Emily One. I will also be taking her on the IC TF when it comes around.

I've got a few loose Villain characters, although I'll likely make a new one for this at some time! Not that I don't have plenty already
  20. (( It's great! I love the identity issue stories a lot ))
  21. Definitely be up for this weekly,it's a good way for people to meet each other and a good bit of fun too!

Even if the cards totally abandoned me, at least I pretty much broke even! Poor Bombshot played two hands and emptied his wallet. Drink for that man.

Sorry I missed it, g/f was demanding of my attention....women!

    [/ QUOTE ]
Tell me about it! They don't seem to understand that physical intimacy isn't as important as pretending to be a Super-Hero sometimes.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If only you could combine the two without getting the oddest of looks.
  23. Was very formal! Looking for a chance to get to know the rest of you, we've certainly got some characters.
