Makes me feel bad I got myself a pen tablet and can't do anything close to this! Ace work!

Phantom tip: Watch which villain your phantoms decoy spawns next to, and take that villain out last, that way you will have the decoy for longer.
[/ QUOTE ]
You mean the decoy from the Phantasm? This may explain why I only ever see it last a few seconds.
[/ QUOTE ]
Yea, the decoy spawns in top of the foe, so it's really easy to figure out which baddie to leave to last. -
Ace work, Knightly. Araf is my fave. Thumbs up!

Shout will definitly be of most consistant use. The question is, is it worth it the longish animation and shorter range? I find Shriek->Scream->Shriek->Scream->Nemesis Staff to be a quite reliable attack chain for a defender. It's boring, no doubt about it, but it's also effective both debuff and damage wise.
In short, if you must pick between those two powers grab the nuke. At least it's fun. Extra fun if PBU+Nuke. -
Oi, quit hijacking my posts! Shun the fire/rads.

Hi folks. I've got this Plant/TA troller planned for a while now. It's supposed to be herbalist/druid themed but so far I haven't got lucky with its costume. So I was hoping you guys could help me out coming up with a fine Druidish cossie.
Male preferably, but if you manage to build a sweet Druidess I'd be very thankful too! -
I'm aware of that, but I wanted to make a Natural origin toon for herbalist/druid concept. Guess I'll go with magic and make a druid then.
-
Shame.. Was convinced it was energy damage. Thanks folks.

I've recently IO'd my Elec^3 for defense: 43% ranged defense and 40% defence against Energy and Neg Energy. This allows me not only to dodge most ranged attacks but also to dodge great ammount of mez types around CoH world. If you think about it, you'll see most mezzes are ranged and PbAoEs and a big share are Energy based. And the good part is you don't need a single purple to get up to 40% defense:

I believe I kept most of your powers (left bonfire out) while keeping its effectiveness. Now, I know you'll want to use FSC on most mobs and that requires you to go into melee (which you got no reliable defence against). What I do with my blastie is to fire Ball Lightning and jump immediatly into the mob. What will happen is that the baddies will use their ranged attack first and only then their melees. By then you should've been able to Fireball and FSC the heck out of them with relative safety.
You can probably hit softcap defense by tweaking it around a bit but this build should work just fine. -
I probably can't attend to this after all - might go out for dinner with some fellas. Put me on reserve if you like tho.
-
Heh. It's Ill/Kin or Earth/Rad, not Ill/Rad
Or even Fire/Rad if I manage to IO her out in time.
-
Sign me up for this as a troller - Illusion/Kin or Earth/Rad.
-
After a long break from controllers, I've decided to roll a Mind trolley. I was hoping you guys could help me figure out my secondary. I'm considering TA (which I've never played past L20), Rad (2 50's there and I know how good it is) and Kin (also 2 50's but it's always fun).
I'm a TF maniac, 100% PvE player (I might slap a villain or two when I step to PvP zones for temps and badges tho). I tend to do 4-5 TFs a week, especially high level ones (STF, ITF and SSTFs).
Now, I'm leaning towards TA but somehow the debuff numbers on troller side don't seem appealing to me. Hope you guys can convince me otherwise.
Cheers. -

Maneuvers is nice to have in addition to my resistance shields and a vengeance will softcap everyone.
[/ QUOTE ]
So does PBU+Vengeance.
Liquify+Nuke is fun for the first couple times, then you'll realize it's not really worth it. I believe Liquify+Irradiate+Neutron Bomb might be just as satisfying and it won't crash your End. -
1. I could be wrong, but I believe if you both grab hasten and buff each other with Adrenaline Boost you should be able to make it perma, therefore both Stamina and Recovery Aura are skipable.
2. In all honesty the only powers you'll need are Fortitude, Clear Mind and Adrenaline Boost. Add in Regen Aura so you can laugh at Regen Scrappers.
Btw, Power Boost is your friend. -
Here's my quick review:
- The Ribosomoes on ST shields seem like a huge waste of influence for additional 1,1% resistance. Leave the shields with 3 Titaniums or replace the Ribosome for a normal res IO or any Reactive Armor IO.
- Same goees for Sonic Dispersion, take off Ribosome and put a Res/End Reactive Armor or whichever is the cheapest.
- Splat a Range IO on Clarity. It saves lifes. Take off a Recharge if you can't spare slots.
- I like slotting Liquify with 2 Lysosomes, 2 rech and any 2 DefDebuff IOs. Lady Grey's just fine.
When it comes to power choices, I'd swap the Nuke with Neutron Bomb; Maneuvers with Assault; Stimulant and Aid-Self with Hasten and something else.
That's pretty much it. I'd change a lot of stuff on the slotting and the referred powers, but I understand you're going for specific bonuses like +HP and RangeDef. And that's fine. -
Possibily SSTF1, but we're happy with any SSTF really.
Team:
1- @False Fiction Sonic/Sonic Defender

We could use a Tank, one more support player and then massive damage. -
While I've never played either sets to a decent level, I guess the biggest differences lie on Terrify, ST damage and ST confuse, Sleep+Hold for easy n' safe containment setup.
And, of course, concept. -
I really don't think it would be worth it. Mobs shouldn't last long enough for the procs to kick in. You'd be better off spamming roots, unleashing tornados, etc.
Edit: As for Roots, I simply love Gravitational Anchor's proc (chance for hold). It's invaluable for any AoE focused troller, imo. -

keep running TF,s at speed and they will not be worth doing ,dev,s will say they are getting easy and cut the merits
[/ QUOTE ]
That won't happen unless they come up with an ultimate TF. We're fast because we're all quite experienced and we've done the TF dozens of times. That's pretty much it. And this record can be beated easily. -
[ QUOTE ]
I agree with you, usually I don't worry about mobs while building a Defender, but I like to debuff AVs and buff my team. A Sonic/Sonic won't allow me to kill waves of mobs but will help my teammates a lot, right?
I wonder how do you people get -300% res.
[/ QUOTE ]
I'm not the right person to give you numbers and/or forumlas but the real number isn't -300%.
Nevertheless, go with /Sonic. I doubt you'll regret it. -
Ill/Sonic, Ice/FF or Earth/FF would be my suggestions for great and yet not so common combos.
Ill/Sonic: Shields, mez protection, pseudo-tanks (on which you can use Disruption Field), pretty good damage (especially ST)
Ice/FF: Bubbles on top of massive -rech and good crowd control tools
Earth/FF: Bubbles on top of the bestest crowd control primary PvE wise -
I wouldn't go with /Elec. I understand you're aiming for end drain, but it just won't be effective.
/Sonic is really great, imo. My TF main is Sonic/Sonic and I can tell you I make a hell of a difference on a team. I can cap -res by my own (ok, me and the Disruption Field puppet).
Now, if you're really dead set on ditching /Sonic, maybe /Arch or /Dark are good choices. Arch for RoA spamming, no end crash. /Dark for AoE debuffing and tenebrous tentacles lovin'. /Rad is not a bad choice either.
