Global Defense on show

As i promised to post those here as well, here we go.

Three steady members of my SG, Global Defense.

Let me tell about the idea behind the GD. I wanted to make a Super Group formed up from heroes all around the world. Also trying to put together a good team versus Surviving Eigth.

For names outside English or Turkish i am using online translators or my own dictionaries so if you see a mistake please let me know. I will gladly buy a rename token instead of dishonoring other people's language.

First of all, Turkish boy. His name means, the place where people will gather after death to judge. He represents Justice.

Araf

Okay i must admit i first started this one as a tribute to Namor and Aquaman, especially latter as i love him and DCUO was making Aquaman Wednesdays so i rolled him. He's my highest scrapper and i am really enjoying him.

So here is Captain Fin. Hot Aussie boy, Guardian of Seven Seas. He represents compassion, especially for enviroiment.

Captain Fin

Last one for now... Hymne. A french boy with divine powers. My biggest inspirition was Jean D'Arc when i am creating him. He represents Faith and Devotion.

Hymne

Oh according to my dictionary, Hymne is some kind of song sing in church. So i thought it will be a nice name for heavenly Storm/Sonic defender.

That's all for now. Will post other members as i once make a steady build for them. Names are on my sign already changed.

Ooh, very nice

great line work!

though some points that come to mind that could perhaps be improved upon:
Araf: Has partial shading, but they don't seem overly consistant, for his torso, yes, but the cape and arms not so.

Captain Fin: lacks shading alltogether, great line work though, good show of anatomy (as far as I can see)

Hymne: my favourite in both costume and finish. I do like the black and white style, though maybe it's a little tooo black and white? Some grey areas might liven him up a bit?

Oh my... Thanks for the comments and critics.

@Shadow Ghost:
I leave Captain as it is because if i will color it in future i will put shades on Photoshop as i want him to be underwater. If i can find time i will color others as well and probably will redraw an Araf picture. By the way Araf's shading a bit messed up as you said. I couldn't decide where to put shades as his cape, boots and gloves are black.

Thanks again for your critics, as i didn't get any training on my drawing other than years of practice i really apriciate every little critic on my drawings as they will make me go one step further each time.

@Scarlet
Hah i wish. John Buscema and Sal Buscema two of the artist whose i learned to draw comic heroes. Erik Larsen, John Byrne, Jim Lee and Joe Mad are the others i look upon while drawing.

Well other than Araf those are partially good pictures of me, now get ready to see my worst.

Here comes lovely ladies of Global Defense (Even i can't play female characters i hope i can get them a bit higher)

First one is from Italy. Sorella Clemenza (Sister Mercy) as you can guess from her name represents Mercy. Actually i wandered around the idea of making her an Empath but later decided to roll an Archery/Mental blaster instead as i can't play Empaths and probably won't be a good empath like the people i came across in game.

Sorella Clemenza

Other lady is from Sweden. Thanks to Sapphic Neko for confirming her name. Unlike others she is a more experienced heroine and very sure of herself. As her name implies she represents Nobility. Here is Natt Drottning (Night Queen);

Natt Drottning

Drottning's cossie inspired by one Kylie Minogue picture. As i started her with High Tight boots i will change them into folded boots. Also need to find her a better face. I hope someday devs put more likeable female faces in this game.

Okay this one is something really new to me, first time ever i used ink that much to create a complete picture. So comments and suggestion all welcome.

Here is a plot scene for my comic idea:

Vampires everywhere

Thanks for your input before hand.

Very impressive especially if that's your first attempt at a picture like that. Love the pose of the vampire!

Nice very very nice. you gonna color it or leave it moody?

Thanks for the comments mates. For the Mess' question; i think i will leave it this way. The one i am planning to color is still on work (just finished basic lines, trying to decide the angles of shadows).

Will post it too as soon as i finish it. If everythings work fine it will be the cover of the comic.

Heh i finished it, a bit rushed tho. Basic form of the cover is done.

Sometimes i hate my idea of black cape/gloves/hood/boots on Araf. Can't really now where to put shades with ink as they are not shiny like Infidel or Hymne. We will see how it look like when i am done with coloring.

Phew! I am tired, my eyes burning like hell but still i am very happy.

Finally finished coloring the cover. It can be better maybe but i want you to know i tried my best.

Finished Cover

I hope you like it, too. Enjoy.

Second Edit: (On first one i forgot to post link to picture ) Some of you can wonder how Araf's had purplish eyes. Actually both in game and character he hasn't, his eyes turn to purple whenever he use his psychic powers.

Oh boy... i am really bad when it comes to civilian clothing. This means i am still too incompetent for a fully drawn comic i guess.

Anyway here is the Psy-knight in his civil clothing... Still need to put more shades here and there but... i lost my will to complete it.

Be that as it may, or may not... I still think that drawing rocks and shows great skill, and knowledge of anatomy.

Maybe one day you'll look back on it and find your hands itching to correct the errors you no doubt see, and add in shading. Until then, do things you do have the will to do

wow... Must say wow... You really improved Knightly, it's pure artwork^^ My favorite is probably Psy-knight in everyday cossie, he seems as energic as a paralytic mussel

Oh and excellent job on Captain Fin, he's a major display of fine muscles

Yay! Thanks for comments mate.

Now here is something i want to show everyone who is following this corner of the creative.

As i always say, even this game is great it is also too limiting for people like me, who has bigger imagination then simple mechanics.

This is a picture i've been working for days. Was trying to find a better lines to express my eye on a certain hero. Without boundries here is how the high flying french member of Global Defense looks like.

Hymne Unlimited

I hope you like it, realized some details i need to darken while scanning it tho.

Also other than that Golden Girl picture i posted today, i want to picture some heroes really in my style, including Golden Girl. I always imagined her different.

Very interesting costume choices!
very well drawn too! (in fact the only thing I notice off is his left trouser legs would probably drag over the ground, extrapolating where his heel would reach)

I love the detail of the gauntlet and the WINGS !!!! Wings have always been my soft spot

Ha ha! Nice catch Shadow! I didn't even realized that 'till see your post.

I tried to mixture Comic/Anime/Medieval/Holy concepts together, i guess. I am only guessing because this picture was hanging in front of my eyes 'till i draw it. Seeing an angel everywhere you look not much fun as some can guess.

I am still not satisfied with chain mail head piece tho'. Also i think scar on his chest doesn't look like a real deep cut scar.

@Soulasylum;
I really loved this ones wings, instead of Marvel's Angel wings i tried more untidy one to represent holy feeling on him. If i can color it (generally that will cause more trouble for me) i think many more details can be seen clearly. It has to wait for now tho', want to do some more drawing for that contest first (even i don't think myself a contestant).

Oh! Also another one of Unlimited series too close to finish, i hope this time i will get an okay with my female drawing as i used a photo from Models.com for pose. As i gave up drawing that comic for now, maybe i can pass some of the details with drawings so people can understand things better.

Okay here we go! Some people don't like to show their mistakes but not me, at least when it comes to drawing. After beating up myself for a quite time, i will be the first one to laugh at that mistakes. Live and learn is the way of life.

Last night's lesson: Don't use black ink careless...

This picture showing Midnight Curse (My Flying Circus character) and his mother. His mother is a vampire, i hope this explains the brave outfit. In my mind i think vampires don't bother with humanly boundaries of outfits, so this mom is kinda self-cencored by me.

Oh one more point... Midnight Curse has white fur in his monster form... as it doesn't show in picture i thought i should let you know.

Midnight Curse and His Mother

Known mistakes; shapeless whip and over use of black ink on Curse.

Edit: Cleared the gender confusion i hope.

Gender shifter!?

Now about the picture.
It's not bad, but it's not good either.

His mother's face is again a little small, probably due to it being tilted forward? That's the impression I got, but can't really say why. Also, there's a nose tip, but not even a hint of the ridge, a subtle pencil line might fix this... though I suppose it could ruin the face as well.

The whip as you said is... a dead piece of black. Can you add some white or grey lines to give it structure? Like on the grip, but then more subtle line?

Curse's chest, yes... too much black. Do I detect 2 different sizes in pens used for the inking?
his head looks a bit disjointed, too far to the left (his right) for the angle his head is in. His head is in the centre of his shoulders, but because it's turned, this places his neck... somewhat awkwardly.

I like the creative costume design of her one thigh boot, a short boot and the skirt over that leg. really nice

LOL! Oh my God, why English has two words for describing third person??? His, Curse is a male, i will correct that asap.

Problem with female faces, they can't handle that much detail, your pretty young thing can suddenly trun into a hag. Her face is in normal size in my eye, but both tilting and mass of medusa like hair can made her face looks smaller than it is.

Drawing whips or other thin parallel things always been a headache for me. No matter how hard i try and concantrate still messing that things up. Also it has two stages penciling and inking, if i get it right on penciling i am messing it up during inking. I am thinking about a new formula to draw that whip in different style maybe it will work.

Curse... Yeah he is totally messed up. Not only on the points you said also his face and whole aura is too Werewolvish even i don't want him to be a werewolf.

And finally... You have very good eyes, mate. Actually it is more than 2, i am using 6 different pencils (more if you count variations of them) during inking.

Thanks for longly critics, i really appriciate your effort and time. Thanks kindly.

Try German, they have 3

I agree on the female face and detail... but then, detail in general is a delicate balance.

I think it's rather hard to make a hairy half-beast with a somewhat wolvish head and not have it look like a werewolf...

Oh by the way there is something i wanted to say but keep forgeting it. People are saying i am improving with my style as well as i can see it. I think most part on this is yours, Shadow. When you said there should be some grays on pictures it pushed me to the next level.

I will try to picture Curse in his shifted form and we will se if he will look like a Werewolf or not.

I didn't want to say much on your contest thread but one of the reasons i delayed other two pictures has two major reasons; first i think i need to practice more on female drawing, secondly those others were simply erotic and as i don't know how the owner of heroes react, i delayed them. For now i can say that one picture of Jess and Ellie will be drawn soon. I will send you the linky with a PM.

Have fun and thanks for all the support again.
