Since you seem to be looking for feedback...

Overall I think the pic has a very interesting look that draws me in... I love some of the details in it but I do think the tattoos and shadows have too much the same look to them... In fact I'm not sure if the design going over their stomaches and up their chests is a shadow, a tattoo or some sort of costume piece...

Also, is the one on the left wearing sunglasses?

Anyway, I like the piece. It's interesting, has a cool style and there's a lot of detail to check out that isn't neccessarily spotted at first glance... But I think there could be more difference or something to make it clear what's shadow, what's body art and what's costume?
For the tattoos, I tried different sort to give different feelings. For Derviche, most is tattoos^^ For Derviche I made a mix with the piece of clothe in CoX and tatoos and removed the thong to place a tattoo instead^^ You can tell... It's kinda tatts and clothes, so your impression is good^^

And no sunglasses^^ her eyes are entirely black, she has a sort of crown covering a bit of the nose and the brows.

Ah but... I'm not sure I want to make differences. Why ? Well, I chose the yellow skin for 2 reasons : 1 - because I don't like blue or red xD 2 - Because, like the "unusual" skin colors in both CO and CoX, those skins are perfect to use patterns in skintight clothes, giving a feeling of almost nudity (of course I'm not saying I'm doing "naked" toons, that's not my purpose).

Thanks for your feedback, Caemgen, I really appreciate it^^

    Bon petit strip, Ludot^^

Well, you can just click on the render and it'll make it...

... And it'll be completely useless.

I mean, the fact that you import in 3ds max proves that you want to do more than what Daz and Poser do, right ? It means extra efforts too in 3ds max : you have to make and choose your lights and shadows, place it, choose the type of render too (wanna play with mental ray ?).

I use same technic as SablePhoenix (well, except that I bought my 3ds max, I use this soft in my work after all).

Now, you can say : Doh ! I have to do all these things in max ?
And I'll answer : Don't whine, Maya can push you to suicide with all its parameters to play with.

Anyway, I can show you the basics if you want^^

More like "Derviche Devil + Bad Luck = a bit of kinky" xD

Derviche devil (left) is my CO toon, Bad Luck (right) is my rad corruptor^^

(warning : a bit of nudity so deviantart filter)

But no, they are not doing anything NC-17, mind out of the gutter !

    *facepalm*

Doh, I FORGOT to past the page ?!

...what would pressure be used for anyway?.. controling the tip of the pencil line???
it can also concerns the opacity of your brush, I rarely do clean lines so it gives me more the feeling of a brush when you add more pressure on some details and less to other parts.

Magnifique !
  10. Thanks VexXxa^^ I try my best to do something different as I'm not very talented, the path is long

  12. I would say : you pass it on photoshop, double the layer and use the "multiply" fusion on the layers, duplicating the layers until you have a black line.

You can also modify the contrast of your pic to obtain some result.

For my part, I also use this method : livetrace in Illustrator (because my lines are not very clean).

    http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/9496/30760468.jpg

(left : my horrible hand inking, right : livetrace of this same horrible hand inking).

Now, the best way ? I don't know. The fastest way ? I know I can take many days to do a simple pic, so I never consider it. What only matters is what I prefer to do...

    Au revoir Cox

Bon...

    Bye bye and cya^^

Sorry for not being able to help you more^^; it's just that I'm not comfortable with Poser to try to use it better. I just find it easier to use Photoshop so I'm not rooted to an all 3D software^^

I've been trying to learn that for a few months now, but I find it hard to make patterns and symbols on clothes - do you have any advice for that?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Ha sorry^^; I use Poser for the basic, just the pose, for the pattern clothes, like Glaciers, I simply make 2 3d renders in 3ds max : 1 with normal skin, 1 with a kinda plastic texture. Then I use the 2 renders and cut them using Photoshop and Illustrator. Basically, I just modelized googles and the armor parts (gloves and shoulder).

    example

But for form fitting clothes without complicated paterns (like Frozn Howl), I just use the mesh of the body and cut the faces until I'm satisfied with it^^
  20. I always start with a 3D model (rapidly made in Poser).

For Glacier and Frozen Howl, I export them in 3ds max then I modelize all the things like hair, armor pieces, clothes. With the render, I begin to modify it using Photoshop and Illustrator^^

For She-Monster, I used the Poser model to redraw it manually after printing it^^

For the three I use graphic tablet^^ (but not for the manually inkining of She-Monster^^)

    I hope it'll help you

Thanks^^ I like her too... Really "classic" for the comic style, but I'm pleased I managed to produce this effect^^
