Quote:I think some costume pieces seem to come straight from anime. But I would like to see a whole anime set too as I think it would work very well in this game.I've recently gotten into anime - i know, I'm a little late. Anyways, I like some of the looks and colors, especially for my staff scrapper.
Question: does anime translate well into CoH?
I've tried to make several costumes based off some of the anime characters I like and they look...odd.
Anyone able to make these kinds of anime martial arts looks work in CoH? -
That is interesting concept in making COH2. I dont think it will happen in the immediate future but anything is possible. I dont consider Freedom a sequel but a mere add on, like going rogue, the 20 odd issues, and COV. I wonder what a COH2 would be like and how they tackle the challenge of making a new game that is a sequel but yet different enough to be called a sequel, if they was ever to do it. I do like this game for it's relative casual friendly game play too. Probably why I stuck around so long.

So how good can Electric armor/Energy melee be? And what I mean by this is sans IOs and other stuff. I want to know how it is with SOs. Yes Single Origin enhancements. If it's at least decent with that, then it can be awesome with some IOs. Prefer to measure it as it pertain to solo play.

What are the drop rate chances for Very rares, rare, uncommon, and common recipes?

So is there fix in the works or something? It is really starting to take the joy out of the game. I mean, it's been over two years at least. I wouldnt mind so much if it was here and there, for a purpose or something but mobs at higher con level, nowhere near death taking off, sometimes two at a time, kind of take the honor out of killing them. Not to mention having to chase at least one mob across the map, or wait 3-5 min per group(no exaggeration I timed it and sometimes it's longer as somethimes they go so far that they just take their sweet time strolling back.) for that one to return is a bit annoying and unneedingly tedious.
I'm talking about mainly on mission maps but I've noticed this behavior on the streets as well. What's the point of even spawning three mobs if one is all but guranteed to flee? Might as well spawn just two. -
Yeah, these rolls seems odd and I'm running out of paper since I havent figured how to record the hit roll screen. And it's lots of data, I've lost count. Few weeks dont sound like much, but when I'm playing to catch data, sometimes it takes hours of play and a few red bulls. In the end, it's like the guy that theorized that some creatures you cant see is causing illness. They threw him into the looney bin then killed him asa heritic. Years down the road, someone discovered actual basteria and he was thrown into the looney bin. Now it's common knowledge that illness can eb caused by bacteria. But hit rolls as odd as I view it, it gets the job done over all I guess. sure there is some science behind it all. This is will be my last MMORPG. Besides this game, not much out there that is as fun or entertaining.

I'm looking forward to this change. 3 slots of powers I could else where in the early levels instead of basically fighting from 12 to 20 with the same powers since level 10 in order to be able to fight more than one mob without "huffing". Soooo when does this change take place?

how and where do we turn this data in. I've been watching my numbers closely past few weeks and writing down the numbers, calculating and such.
Findings in short-player rolls are over estimated and usually end up ten-12% under than what the number suggest. And NPC rolls, including pets, seems to be understated i nthe hit roll log. Many times, a npc have 5-7% to hit and it hits way more than that. while when the player side have 5-7% to hit, it might as well be nill. The NPC seems to roll low numbers quite more often than the player.
Just now, I had 90%-95% to hit, and four times within a very short time, had to have the power force hit. Had three force hits in a row then the fourth force hit cam three mobs later, with misses in between. Havent analyzed this current data but rough counting of the misses and hits over all powers, about 50%. far from 90-95% chance.
The first time I noticed, took it "oh just a bad streak. But after paying close attention, this is more than just bad streaks. -
bugger. transfered my MM a while ago. Oh well, when you all do an all scrapper, all Stalker, or all Warshade ITF wake me up. I dont have many toons on there as I used to. Had to go somewhere where the TFs interest matched my play time a bit better if I wanted to do them more on a whim.

well I've came across some anti newb teams and of course it's just my experiences. I'm sure I havent played on majority of the teams just as people that say they never seen it probably aint played with majority of the player base as well. I've seen it happen jus tas often as I've seen anti-scrapper teams/players and anti-teaming with stalkers teams/players. It's not majority of the people but remember just like laws. The laws wasnt made because majority of the people was doing the wrong thing ,they was made people you have that few 1%-0.5% doing the wrong things. It's the bad apples that get the attention. You hardly ever see people post on a board, hey so and so is no nice or so and so is cool. Or even "I came across this friendly hero thoday..."nah, you here, this noob that newb did this did that. That idiot did somethng crazy. and etc."
I just hope for the new players that experienced that, realize that is not the sentiment for 99%-99.5% of the people I came across and there are majority new guy friendly people on this game. Dont let the bad few ruin ya fun. So tell your buddies to come on back and give it another shot. -
even though it wont last long, seeing victory with two yellow dots made me think of the good ol days. I might make that Op pic a poster to remind of how my home used to be all the time. The green dots ones, man, that is fishy. freedom of course is locked and virtue is borderline locked and that was expected. wish the population was spread out a little more maybe so that people who have a row full of freedom toons who was still at work at that time might have a chance. On the the flipside guess everything has it's ups and down. on triumph never have to worry about being locked out but might get lonely on slow time yet freedom, it never sleeps but you might the be poor sap outside in the cold begging the bouncer to let you in.

going up in more levels so far I really like what I see. It's different.

Quote:nice idea there. So you miss mobs sometimes. I can deal with that. The only thing I could support is removing the cap on objects. Or at the least change the verbage so it says deflected instead of missed to show you hit the object but you were just being so cockey that it ended up being a glancing blow that caused no damage.
-
sometimes that missing thing happens a bit too often. with 95%and you miss three times and land the fourth in a forced hit? I think there should be a chance to miss of course but I think 95% is a bit misleading at times. like saying you have 95% chance of living and then you die three times in a row before the reaper lets you live just out of sheer pity.
On the other hand it dont happen to me enough to be great concern, but still find missign a box that cant even fight back is funny and odd as hell.
"I'm an elite super villian. I just destroyed a whole city and...ooops missed a box with my super punch. dang. Wait, let me try that again... (whiff). Dang it!." -
what's that? They bringign the Doom Guy to COX?
-
never got the point of being able to miss a crate. Hell a blind kid hanging upside down in an antigravitaional chamber can hit a crate but a super powerd being cant?
-
my worse PuG experience.
Well I can over look bad players, as they are commonly called because maybe they just not good at it but as long as they try.
The worse of PuG is that one guy that try to dictate how everyone should play his/her build or which powers a person should or should not take. Especially on some just random paper mishes where even the most messed up group of 8 people with the worse power slotting can pass easily. there are ways to educate a new player but berating them is not an effective means to and no wonder they wont listen. who would? You got some hard heads out there no matter how you put it but if the poor chap is trying, no vet badges, first or second toon, then give em a break. No one was born being uber at this game that I know of. Hell it might be a vet with their first defender or a vet with their first tank or maybe they didnt take taunt because they soloed 99% of the time or didnt take rez because they couldnt fit it in with their playstyle and power choices.
Each to a man's own though. -
Quote:well said.Complaining about PuG members lack of skill ruining a team is kind of like blaming the goalie for losing the hockey game. I've never been on a team where I could legitimately say that one or two people were so incompetent that we all failed as a result. People should keep in mind that on a PuG team, everyone is a PuG team member and the team's success or failure doesn't rest on the shoulders of one scapegoat who didn't take the powers you wanted them to take.

until recently my billing address was out of country of the US while on US server. Even though I was in Europe at one point never did seen or step foot into a Euro server.

just came across an Incredible Hulk look-alike SS/Inv brute just a 15 min ago. Well instead he was wearing purple long pants so I assume he is just a homage toon. Pretty nice homage character.

yeah an offensive set is plus to me with the concept I have in mind.
My SR scrapper by programming personality concept stroyline is defensive counter striker.
(also rolled one soon after making this thread at level 5 few bars from 6 so far solo. Mated it with DM as it's another one I never did and the closest thing to the concept I could use. So far so good. I think it's 50 material. Probably solo as this roll goal is to actually do the mission story arcs and see the story lines that at low level is usually passed over) -
wow that is a nice guide and even addresses the SO build version which is hard to find these days. thanks for putting me onto that.

I like Slayer, SOAD, Metallica, Black Sabbath and things of the likes. I listen to just about anything but not too many pop songs or country songs I like.
