  1. I like the customization options and the whole hero concept. It was a relatively easy game to get into and easy formatting of the chat windows, especially after the LFG and Help channel rise to prominence. It didn’t take too long to level while at the same time it wasn’t too short. Good villain side content. Excellent Praetorian maps and storylines and just the right amount of difficulty for those mobs there. Oh and of course the variety of the mobs, even though having CoT from level 5-50 and somehow having to do with most game content got kind of bland. "Ok, we have to catch some Crey but first we have to fetch a book for Azuria." The updates were good and came at a good pace.

  4. The world is always "ending" and always has since the third cave person met the other two and pulled out a sign that said "The End is Near" In 2013 some bloke will come up with a new supposed ending date and so on.
The poor Mayan probably just quit at that date. He was counting from around 2000 BC to 2012. Or probably originally got to year 6500 before realizing he messed up a date on the end of 2012 that threw the rest of the dates off and just said, "F-it, let the next civilization figure it out."

So what was his intention? I'm kind of curious about that now too. And if this intention is so well intended, why not spread it to other posts with misspellings or wrong word usage? Why only chose mine? Was it so bad that it even warranted a response of it in the first place to point it out? How did he expect me to respond given that he don’t on a regular go post to post thread to thread, even ones that he participates in and correct those errors?

The way it looked and given the situation and lack of frequency he corrects other people's misspellings and or wrong word usage, it did come off as you quoted "haha ur dumb." If that is not the intentions, then I think answers to my questions would clear that up because that is how exactly it seemed to me.

And clear example of what I'm talking about.

There are plenty of those posts like that. The squirrel tells the truth.

Even in game, I've seen it done to others in pvp, pre-i13 and sometimes even after i13 people get abused and or people try to make their pvp experience the worse possible experience in a game ever. And this wasnt strictly on Freedom. Reason why the i13 changes took place in the first place was that "certain people" was doing everything in their power to prevent "new players to pvp" from having a good time. It worked too. Many new players stayed away from PVP and when the changes came out, most of those people that spewed the abuse in pvp left. Of course there was a few hold outs. In reality, obnoxious, fouled mouth, jacktards as Forbin decribed them, killed PVP. Which probably worked better in the end as the Devs did have more time to focus on PVE content.

I get what you are saying. It do get tiring always expected to be the "better" person when someone brings some nonsense your way. Just wish less of these bums stop starting crap with me and for once be mature and at least make a feeble attempt to be the better person for once and dont start nonsense in the first place and STICK TO THE FLACKING subject instead of nit picking every little thing, especially stuff that is irrelevant.

True but at the same time, they forget they don’t have to respond to mine if one misspelling make it THAT hard to read what I'm typing and trying to get across.

I didn’t draw attention to "per say". It was a mere misspelling in a text, nothing more. Like would it have killed them to not even bother pointing it out, like they do on most postings? I doubt they would have dropped dead if they let it go but no they chose to make a deal out of it, over nothing.

The rules shouldn’t only apply to me. I'm the one that is not to respond but yet, they can respond all they like without anyone saying a word to them about it. People can make misspellings all they desire to make, but they can’t overlook one simple mistake in my post. To me, that is making a deal out of mistake, a type that most people here tend to make, but yet they chose me and only me to point it out because it would be detrimental to their health to let it go otherwise.

yea but this isnt one of those letters. This is mere forum where there is no prize for right nor lack of for wrong. There is no job on the line, there is nothing to gain nothing to lose so the stakes are below looking for lint in the carpet. If persay instead of per se messed up the meaning of the message that much, I have no idea what to tell you besides a question of how do you end up reading over 90% of the posts on these forums? Most posts on this forum contain some type of grammar and or spelling mistake.

And to add statement was not for impact either. Like I said earlier, please please do not make this into a big deal. Just let it go. It isnt that serious. So I mispelled persay big deal, get over it please.

I'm starting to think the negotiation would be a lot easier and quicker if COX was actually running in the red. NCSoft probably would have been more than happy to let it go. Since it was making money, that probably weigh heavily into their decision and asking price. And even they don’t want to play the type of ball offered; they still can just keep everything for parts in other games. Then again, there is nothing that is a bigger feeling of making a jackbutt of a corporation than throwing something away and only to see the competitor take it and make it rake in more money than they thought was possible.

Even if NCSoft somehow hold on to the game and remake it later or sequel or whatever most of the dev. team that worked on this one won’t be around. Even if by some every planet and galaxy in the entire universe and the next dimension lined up in a perfect line miracle, the original staff may or may not be itching to come back especially seeing that type of instability to their livelihood and it could end just like that again in the future.

And depending on what resources they are realigning, it may mean some of the IP is being recycled into a new game or across several games and that may also drive up the asking price if any price.

But I'm sure some time in the future, whether one year or ten, there will be another super hero COX like MMO. I think. For super hero MMOs we have CO, DCUO and both of those are totally different animals from COX. But if it do get picked up by third parties, I hope they have the heart to see the project through and not give up and allow it to go to the way side. Although I'm sure they are also talking about how much of the player base will actually stay after this is said and done. Although it's nice to see bunch of heroes online to the point that there is 33 Atlas park instances, but why wasn’t it that many before facing the end? Is it going to go back to normal of two populated servers, dead red and prae side, and rest of the servers mostly low population, even more so as some players move on between now and when it go up live again?

Some people say that you never know how much you cherish (miss) something until it is gone. My philosophy has always been "Cherish things always as if it is the last day. What is here today may be gone tomorrow." Instead of waiting until the end is near to all of sudden go all out showing care while prior it was lax.

Know what? I'm sick of that notion here. I now have another reason for wanting the game to stay: so people can shut up about the ****s they will no longer give toward NCSoft. I'm not a fan of them either, but this is ridiculous.
I think my screen name alone lets you know that I'm no hero. .
There is also City of Villains too, so more than likely we have at least a few villains among us.

Yet in the end, I doubt anything will happen to NCSoft, and given that only a small fraction revenue that they probably won’t miss comes from the US and various other parts outside Asia, they probably will still be a multi-billion dollar company afterwards. And if "fish does hit the shan" then they'll probably just fire more people until there is nothing left to fire and the same ones that vengeful people try to hurt will not feel a thing. Their worst case scenario is the excs abandoning ship with much of those billions tucked into their pockets as severance packages while the employees they let go can’t buy a can of beans and or spending up their life savings while hoping it last while they are in between jobs. While they are losing about at most 100,000 players here, they have millions of players in their Asian market. So even if COH was raking in a 2 million dollar profit a month or 24 million a year it's only about 0.048% of said income of 2011 of about 544 million dollars that they raked in total. In perspective that is about fretting over losing a nickel out of a dollar, which of course not many people would complain about the extra nickel but at the same time probably won’t miss it much.

You can design characters with these powers to be melee DPS or tanks, but you're not forced to be a tank just because you go for that powerset. At best, they're biased toward a melee role, just as sorcery is biased toward support roles and most elemental powersets are biased toward ranged dps. But you can take any of these powersets and build toward tanking, dps, support or possibly any two of the three if you can manage it. Your earth character can just as easily use way of the warrior as you could defiance.
Yeah got a toon on CO and I'm still ot sure what it is (level 37 so far). It's a beast but tuned for soloing ( alot easier there to do the exciting stuff solo than here.) but cant really put a finger on what it is. It has the toughness of a tank, but mostly range powers (infernal chains), with a few melee attacks (scythe), and a couple of heals, with a pet power to help out everynow and then for them tough Super villains and or the occasional Legendary. Loved the Aftershock story line. And from the stuff I heard about stability issues, actually I crash less there than here. Of course I got rid of those pesky comic outlines but the art work is good enough for me. Not a bad game, just different. Fits like a glove actually. Wonder why my friend over there didnt tell me about the features of the game earlier and sooner. Better late than never.

Yea if you are on Virtue or Freedom. Other servers and or villain side and especially Prae side, from personal experience on Victory and various other servers, sometimes building a team takes just as long if not longer than WoW. Now if a person is some unlucky chap on Victory and on red side and or gold side, then most days, a team will never come. Even on Virtue, teaming can take a while on red side and gold side on just about any server takes forever if it manage to happen at all. My experience. But in general on virtue and or Freedom blue side, usually fairly quick and easy.

    I like that idea.

But then I would take this stand alone single player City of Heroes and recreate the MMO from scratch, without any of the design baggage of the past.

So while running around in single-player CoH, you can chat with your friends. You'd have the same CoH global chat communities we have now, you just couldn't actually team with anyone

So lets add teaming. Single player games already have the means to allow for LAN play and cooperative play, we'll let the single player game connect to other single player games and play cooperatively. So if you want to play CoH with four friends, no problem. But what about your fifty guildmates?.
And this. One thing I never did care for about this game is that so much content "required" teaming whether to run through the TF or just temporarily so that a TF can be soloed. The whole idea is good actually. I'd buy it and play it.

I dont think CO is that bad. Plus the community seems to be very friendly, in game and on [b]forum[b]. Friendlier than here? Well I dont trash talk communities but COH is it's own "interesting" animal. CO have some pretty neat stuff that over here said it couldnt/wouldnt be done yet. Even if they pick up a few devs I dont think I would like that game to become another COX clone, and from the looks of it neither would majority of the CO community. I think the devs that may or may not transfer would understand that and probably would fit right in on making the game better without going in kicking in doors and trying to CO that the right way to do it is the COH way. And I hope the people that do tranfer do not do that either. Although I wouldnt put it past some people here.
But different strokes for different people. Some people think the SWOR or what ever the acro is for that game, is a great game. I find the concept very non-inspiring to say the least, in a nice way.
