    Thats so much more trouble than its worth at this point. Besides its not like you can do a whole lot with bases now. They are just glorified storage areas with teleports. Worry about this when bases get more functionality.
  2. Personally I would rather they get a chance to earn it as they level. So much prestige is wasted. It would be better if you guys made the bases check only if you were not hero or villain instead of what you are so that praetorians can join either but upon leaving praetoria they get some kind of warning.

    Already happens in Aion. And you know what, we deal with it just fine. Usually once the boss gets down to 33% hp aggro does this weird shift thing were they randomly attack who ever. Even prior to that if your tank isnt building threat then anytime you heal everyone tons to look at you. We deal with that just fine in Aion. Considering the tanks/scrappers/brutes/stalkers are more durable than the same counterparts in Aion, and the Aion players handle it just fine then I see no reason why we couldnt handle it in CoH.

    I guess my point in all of this is this, tanks have gotten lazy since all they have to do is dive in and everything sticks to them like glue. Aside from maybe the STF or Hami holding aggro just isnt a real issue in CoH. Everyone is so used to not dying and not feeling a real threat since we got capped hps, massive regeneration, softcapped defense or capped resists. I want a real challenge without the npcs having to cheat to win.

    Ok but what about when are fighting them? Dont we take out the debuffs/buffers/healers first? So how can you say it doesnt make sense when we do this already? I think part of why they wont ever change things to be this way is due to buffers not being able to self buff like you can in other MMOs. If they were to allow self buffing like the way the npcs can even if it was at say half strength that would be reason enough to change the AI to go after them.

    Every other MMO already does this. To me it makes the game more balanced keeps things some what interesting. As it stands now if the tank goes in first and if they arent dead within the first 3 seconds then that entire mob isnt going to look at anyone else engaging them up to the aggro cap. Too boring in my opinion.
  6. I am a bit skeptical of this. Practically every end game encounter is the same, tank and spank. To prevent us from debuffing the critters into uselessness cheating tactics are added. Such as Statesman/M.Bison/Hero-1 perma unstoppable or the 100 mag hold GW has, if the devs truely mean what they say on this then we better have no cheating of NPCs abilities. Make up for it with better AI instead. Like how about having the mobs go after the healers/debuffers/buffers for once instead of being glued to the tank.
  7. I remember the glory days and cry every time I remember them. My name sake is perma-retired because no amount of IOs will ever get him back to his pre-issue 3 playability. If we got resists caps removed and they returned perma powers like perma-unstoppable I would love that because the game was way more fun back then. When we were real heroes. I remember when we used to pull all the critters on the map to 1 spot and the blaster would nuke them all. We feel so artifically limited now with all these caps.

    I was having a hard time myself deciding how to pair this with a support set. I dont make kins anymore since speed boost no longer works on pets. I dont like rad due to not being able to control what the pets attack which makes archor management too hard to deal with. I cant use storm because it messes up the electric effects. Cant use cold because you get virtually no protection for youself aside from the weak toggle buff. Force Fields is not worth doing unless your a defender that can cap your teams defense. Empathy's been done to death. Trick Arrow means no support for yourself as well as the team, debuffs dont mean crap if it still takes forever to set them all up and forever to kill the mobs. Which pretty much means thermals is left and thats been done to death as well. I might wait till we get another support set before I do electric.

    This one is easy. There are so many sounds that got butchered due to them causing lag and such. I wish there would be a way to bring the old sounds back on many powers.

    #1 on my list is the old fulcrum shift sound. It used to sound like you are deep frying chicken, now its kinda just meh. Return us back to the old deep fryer sound.

    #2 on my list is Psionic Shockwave. This sound added so much to the awsomeness of the set but once it got changed I literally stopped playing my dom because it feels so much weaker.

    #3 Electric melee, the sounds used to actually sound like your shocking someone now its kind of like a thud with a slight zap. Return the sounds back to the old sounds please.

    #4 Assassin's Eclipse sounds like your doing the snipe for dark blast, please return it back to its old sound.

    #5 Fix the sound effects on dragon's tail it makes the sound regardless if you hit someone

    #6 Fix the sounds of sonic blast, its all the howling and such is the main reason I cant play this set. Even if I had a wolf type character I still wouldnt play it due to the noise being so annoying.

    Objective Feedback
    If at all possible do sound customization like you did with power customization. This would give it a unique feel power player and powerset.

    CoP reward buff

    What they should have done with every tf is go back and add task to either pad the tf or give extra merits if you kill 90% of the mobs prior to mission complete. Also overall difficulty needs to be factored in some how because as it stands alot of tfs simply dont get run more than once and only then its for the badge.
  11. Since we are getting stamina this opens up the door for quite a few new alts and ways to make old alts more survivable. I needed some help with the follow builds, but they have a few restrictions. I need softcapped Kat/SR, MA/SR, Kin/SR(without the scatter power), Claw/SR. What I want in the builds are aid self and tough and weave. In the past I had to choose between the 2 due to not enough power picks but now I want to change things on these characters. My goal is to be softcapped by 47. Also I have a little side projects too DM/Shields, Elec/Shields. These 2 are so much harder to softcap so its probably not going to happen without extreme end useage or lose of functionality. Any advice on these builds?
  12. I tried this once before, it just wasnt fun playing like you need an asthma inhailer the entire time. I did up a build with +recovery bonuses and all the endurance uniques I could get my hands on and it still wasnt enough to make this set playable for me on a scrapper. I am gonna reroll mine as a stalker so thats 2 less toggles I have to deal with and maybe that might the difference on endurance.
  13. Storyline wise VEATs get PPPs due to the story. But seriously why would you want more abilities, the PPPs pretty much suck for all villains? I would say there is only 1 power in all of them is even half way worth a damn and thats the Mu pet that heals and only doms get that. Besides there is hardly enough power picks to get most of the good stuff thats just within the powerset. So want issue 19 to hurry so I can get those 3 extra powers I couldnt get earlier. What folks should be campaining on is getting rid of that gawd damn backpack the spiders get even if one of your builds is crab. I refuse to go crab till they give an alternative to the pack.
  14. I dont see the point of asking for more health. Stalkers are meant to be squishie, it adds to the feel of the AT. Furthermore whatever 1 shots you at 1600 health will still most likely 1 shot you at 2000 health. I never really had issues with survivablity once they fixed defense in issue 7. As for as the resistance well thats just lol resistance sets. Something should have been done to compensate them many issues ago because positional defense has always been the way to go on a stalker.
  15. It helps to get all these IOs at the lowest possible level in the event that you have to exemplar down. This way you get more benefit out of the set as you level and when you exemplar down.
  16. This is how I have always viewed confuse. On teams when the foes are really hard then its an insurance policy that you wont die. Chances are if you are in this situation you need to turn down the difficulty anyways. Second the damage done is xp leeching but I find on teams that have alot of aoe having the confuse foes fight is just bad. For the most part they would not have died any faster because it would have been overkill damage. So in the case with aoe heavy teams I wouldnt use it. What it boils down to is this, is the xp lost from confuse going to be more or less than the total debt the team would have gotten from that encounter? Since debt is like almost non-existent these days it takes away from the utility that confuse brought to the table. For solo this is a different matter. I found it extremely valueable on redside due to mobs having insane control resistances and domination not always being up. So thats pretty much the one thing to rely on. Now that we have a choice for doms being on blueside I find myself not needing it as much.
  17. I have several ideas on how to change stalkers in general.

    Suggestion 1 is to return all the missing powers from various sets such that stalkers arent penalize for taking hide and assassin strike. Meaning powers like QR, Lucky(scaling resistance/debuff resistance), RttC(without the aggro component), Quills, Lotus Drops, Spin. Many folks would be like what about the aggro? Well we know its possible now for them to make the toggle powers not effect others while hidden, like the stalker version of cloak of fear and oppressive gloom. So that cant be used as a reason not to do this now.

    The main reason I am wanting most of the aoes to return is because its our greatest weakness when teaming unless your elec then you get the best of both worlds. What we lack is that aoe contribution in a game where AoE is king and single target is lol unless its a hard target like an AV. But at that point sustained damage is going to help you more so than burst damage will.

    While I know suggestion number 1 is the hardest and most talked about thing to do it might not be able to happen so, here is suggestion number 2. Make stalker single target damage simulate AoE. One is make the damage so high you pretty much 1 shot + 4 luitenents with single target attacks. The only way to make this happen and work well is if they throw out the whole recharge/endurance/damage formula to a point and make some exemptions because thats whats pretty much holding stalkers back right there.

    Suggestion number 2 might be seem to be overboard so here is another idea. Suggestion 3 revisit the stalker scaling damage with AS but also apply this to all or some of the more heavier hitting attacks. This idea is crucial considering how we got 2 new taskforces. Chances are there will be some extremely beefy targets that need to be taken out and the best way to do it is make stalkers into the single target specialists they were always meant to be.

    Suggestion 4, while I dont like this as much as the others only because it seems to have the weakest impact on perception but not on actual numbers. Change stalker damage mods such that they along with blasters get the highest numbers for damage buffs. Meaning stalkers and blasters get 130% damage boost for build up, and melee damage boosted to a 1.30 mod. This ensures no one will be out damaging them using the same powerset with the same level of buffage. This will need to be done in conjuction with getting rid of the leash on the current stalker team buff. As it stands currently the buff is counter productive to itself. If you have more range than melee then the stalker doesnt get the buff to benefit the team as much. If you have alot of melee when the stalker does get the buff its kind of pointless because you already have melee damage. So the stalker never really gets to shine because he is over shadowed by his teammates bigger crits, higher damage from fury. I suggest making the range equivalent to the old sidekick range. It keeps stalkers from running off from the team and it works with every possible team composition.

    Thats pretty much what I would do if I werent afraid to buff stalkers. Keep in mind none of these changes would be effective in pvp in any way shape or form since teaming is the stalkers issue in pve.

  19. We are good with the sets we have now. Sonic being resistance only is epic phail out of the box. The sets that would have the most use out of the powers have the most fragile pets. So putting the -res toggle on say ninjas or zombies isnt such a great idea considering they die in so few hits even with the bubbles on them. The shield numbers on there own isnt going to be enough to keep the pets alive. You will need outside healing otherwise you will spend alot of time resummoning wasting more endurance.

    Radiation and kinetics is even more epic phail since you can not give your pets any recharge bonuses anymore. That was gutted several issues ago. I am still mad at Castle for this because it pretty much gave me no reason to try any new sets on masterminds after they ported thermals. While the damage potential with rad and kin masterminds get worse numbers than defenders so the debuffs of radiation wont be as strong so pets get hit more. For kinetics it wont be possible to safely take advantage of fulcrum shift on huge spawns solo because the pets will die before you get to use the damage you just got. I just find it so retarded that the range pets get more resistance and or defense than the melee pets that die alot more. If they buffed ninjas and zombies I could see it working out a little bit better for sonic but your still gonna need a heal.
  20. I always wondered what villains got for theirs. Thats a nice boost no matter what AT your playing. I am kinda mad cuz I moved most of my doms to hero side where its easier. I just wish they would come up with something like this for blue side now.

    Durable and stalker shouldnt be used in the same sentence. Its just not possible by the way the AT is created. You will have less hit points and in some cases inferior defensive powers compared to the other ATs with the same powerset. What you want to do is create a stalker that wont get hit much so you wont have to worry about being durable. Just create anything with ninjutsu and softcap it. Thats about as durable as you can get. You get a heal so if you do get hit you can recover from the damage. You got tools like caltrops to slow down the melee damage so when you do get into a tight spot you can recover quickly.

    I will say this though for stalkers I never really had survivability issues after issue 7 when they fixed defense. For the most part your offense is part of your defense. What can kill you if it dies in 2 or less hits?

    In time, I'm sure we'll learn the truth of this rumor regarding his status. But for now folks, slow down a little on this one.
    Not every company is like that. I know when I got laid off I was in complete shock about, especially since they were going to be building a new building at the time. It wasnt all rainbows and roses either. I am still bitter about it because I know they could have easily made this transition easier and not have a lay off to happen in the first place. But again we dont know how things work at NcSoft for all we know he could be laid off temporarily till CoH 2.

Yall must have some crazy budget issues going on to let one of the best animators go like that. I know how bad from personal experience how bad a lay off is, till this day I am still struggling to find a new job in the IT field. My prayers go out to BaBs and his family.

    After they gutted pet recharge there isnt even a point to make a kin mastermind anymore. You will never be able to full benefit from the damage of fulcrum shift because your pets would die with a mission set for 8 with using only the kinetic heal. So again I dont see how kinetics would work good at all.
  25. Its kinda of messed up how they cripple all pets just to make a minor change. I remember how they gutted pet recharge just because they didnt want lightning storm to do good damage eventhough it was an underperforming power.
