I actually haven't seen a ton of threads on this, so the few that do pop up don't deserve too much ire.
Here's a useful thread, for anyone passing through:

I really have to stop checking the website...

Haha, very good, made me chuckle.
It also made me a little sad remembering that the last two Next Gen. movies weren't as good as the second one. -
Just about the coolest thing since sliced bread. Many thank!

I've been on Pinnacle since my first day in CoH, right when I1 went Live. I inherited a friends account when they left for another game a year later, so I have two accounts, with about 25 characters between them.
I, too, like to see lots of people on, if nothing but for atmosphere; but I just can't bring myself to leave my home server because, well, it's home. In fact, I'm going to be hunting through the other servers, and any Heroes and Villains I find worth saving, I'm going to transfer back to Pinnacle.
Bubba quoted it best, "People come and go." I've made a pact with myself to always be visible, and, if I have the time, to always say "Yes!" to proper invites.
If there is an end on the way for old Pinn, then I'll be there, toasting it's good health. -
Like everyone, I just want to say thank you, Devs, for this fabulous treat.
And come to Pinnacle! We have open bars 24-7. -
Quote:Same here; in fact, that's been the plan since I created my PB low these many years ago. In the end, it's going to be power that corrupts, and both Peacebringer and Human will succumb.I'm not taking either of my current Khelds to the redside, but I fully plan on rolling up a PB to go rogue and then full villain.
What I'm really hoping for is the ability to customize EAT powers; then I can create a darker set for when she goes rogue, then villain. Showing the transition in the aura of her powers. -
Just poking my head out from Lurker Land to say great post, Sam, couldn't agree more. Don't fret about the Rage, you do so in a comedic fashion that I find highly amusing, and yet still find time to inject logical arguments. I do believe it's a +Rep moment.

Another satisfied hero; welcome to CoX, David!

Quote:Ahh, this makes me happy. Welcome to CoX, both you and your lady. The great thing is that you can pretty much do all the things you can do in other MMOs. I've played since 3 months after launch, and though I've taken plenty of breaks, it keeps pulling me back in.Hi everyone!
I wasn't really sure where else to post this, so I chose this forum. I just started playing CoX a few days ago. My girlfriend told me she wanted to play some type of MMO, and after some research, we settled on this one. (I also play EVE Online, but that isn't for everyone, and I don't want to go back to WoW) We both made villain characters and are having a blast. Wanted to introduce myself to the community.
I'm hoping this game will have enough varied content to keep us occupied for a while, since I know we are coming in 5 years late! So hello to all of you!
Quote:Well thank you all for the warm response!
I suppose I didn't really do that much research before joining, so I didn't know about this fast leveling craze type of thing? Anyway, I bought the combined box online so I think that means I have access to both heroes and villains?
We are very casual gamers, so it will likely take us a long time before we see half of it, and before we can start playing both sides of the coin. I'm glad to see a friendly community here, since EVE's can be very cutthroat. My girlfriend is quite new to gaming as well, so I am taking it at her pace. Glad to know that the community is willing and able to help.
Thanks again!
I played EVE for 2 years and I still follow it regularly, but this is where I really get relaxed. Though granted, EVE did teach me about spreadsheets.
Quote:Yes, I know that is the nature of all MMOs and I think I'm prepared for it. This time around though, we just made characters whom we thought would be interesting to play. We didn't look up the different powersets to min/max our characters. We are likely not the most efficient play styles, but thats alright because we are enjoying our characters so far. Thats what matters, right? -
Quote:The only way I would be ok with build switching without visiting an NPC would be:
- Set Player Health 1
- Set Player Max Regeneration 0, duration 60 seconds.
- Set Player Max Endurance 0, duration 60 seconds.
- Set all powers state to Initial Recharge.
- Wipe all Buffs/Debuff on character.
In other words, we do NOT want players to be able to situationally change power selections.
I hear you, and these points work for me no problem. They even plug into a cool RP aspect, i.e., changing shape and powers weakens you for a limited time. Would make for a great "Duck down the alley" switcharoo. -

Gah! 4 more hours until I get home!!!

Quote:Haha, classic. I needed a good laugh, thank you. When the ponies are fully baked, please.
Until then, here's a little in-game documentary a friend sent me. http://www.xtranormal.com/watch?e=20090903212628964 -
Can't believe I just saw this. Great job! I've been in some deep withdrawal ever since the forums switched.

For what it's worth, OneAboveAll, I didn't misread your intentions. Good post, man. I remember all of these ideas, it would be neat to see if any of them might still be floating around on a white board somewhere.

Howdy folks!
Damn CoX, always pulling me back in. And now a fancy new bulletin board? Well I'll be an Uncle Monk. -
I love how I stay logged on to these forums even though I'm a professional lurker.
Great job on all fronts, Ebben. Keep up the good work.
