Under such an "adjustment" shield charge would still be powerful but wouldn't be a power that can completely eclipse blaster tier 9s.

Also, AAO's taunt aura will probably be adjusted down...it's ridiculously strong.

For the record, some of you know I have a fully purpled/PvP IO'ed beast of a fire/shield/blaze scrapper that I love to death, but I've been bracing myself to a negative change to this set for some time.
I've just rolled up a claws/sr scrapper to dump all my purples and pvp IO's into if shields does get hit hard by the bat.

I wouldn't mind a smaller radius on shield charge as much them taking my ability to cap DDR with Hami-Os. If they take that away my SS/shield and fire/shield/blaze will probably get the good old delete button.

As such, I feel that Indestructible by Disturbed is a far better Scrapper anthem.
Leave the semantics to the squishies.
  3. Everyone has their own style.

Rage is not auto fire for me, I just pop it when the previous is about to drop to negate the -25% def.

Active Defense's (ddr) is so vital to my survival that I (almost) always hit it when I see it, regardless of my next attack.

Hasten gets the auto-fire for me, I tend to forget about it if I don't.

Something else is if you are a button smasher (like me) sometimes you will block your auto-fire from firing if you don't give it an oppurtunity, thats another reason I have hasten on auto and not AD.

Find what works for you is the best advice I have.

I'm working on an Ice/Cold Concept controller. I created a build softcaped to smash/leth and ranged. Some things I don't like about the build is the endurance usage and AA's slotting. If you see any oversights please let me know.

I have a good amount of money set aside but not unlimited, so the glad proc is out of the question. I also don't plan on ever soloing this build.

    Thank you in advance.

Edited because I posted the wrong build.
  7. The build can be a PVE god. Make sure to get to the softcap (45% defense to all). Doublestack rage during crash to negate the -def. Slot up a lot of end reduction and if you can afford them the Numina and Miracle uniques.

You should not have any issues with (resistable) defense debuffs. Slot up the /sr toggles to the ED cap as well as the passives, you will be running at 95% DDR.

I loved mine. Once I had around 35% defense to all I never really got hurt, for the situations that I knew would get hairy one small purple put me at the softcap. I got mine to the softcap around 35 with cheap sets. I eventually built for recharge, +hp, and regen. I was running around 350% regen, with around 110% recharge. Quickfist was my favorite brute, he got the axe when /shield came out though.

I can help you a lot more if you post your planned build. And what your budget is.

    For PVP

I haven't gone there since the changes much. I know defense got the hose a few issues ago. With hurl boulder, throwing fishes, taunt and aid self you might be able to make a workable pvp brute. That is all speculation though as I don't know much about PVP.
  8. Nice debt bar in the vid, how many runs did it take to get it right?

Just ran it solo on my fire/shield scrapper in less than six minutes. I'm not even speced for farming.

p.s. Thank you for the 15% resist from the sonic EB.
  9. Here is my build. Not quite softcap to range and aoe but dark oblit's -tohit makes up the difference. I run at perma-hasten levels of recharge thanks to the proc in footstomp.

  10. What attack chain do you plan on running? If you want the same relative build I would swap scorch for fire sword and put the purple set in scorch, you could then run the scorch, cremate, scorch, incinerate even with hasten down.

This IMO is a better build with more single target damage (work gloom into your attack chain until you lose too much endu then run s,c,s,i again.), more aoe damage, more regen and more hp. The .3% defense you are away from softcap will be taken care of by the -tohit in dark obliteration. You will burn through endurance extremly fast when launching all your AOES but you can use blues from the immense amount of inspirations that drop during farming. I note that you like to have swift and hurdle, put a Microfilament hami in sprint and call it a day, you will run faster. With this set up there is no need for a travel power, especially redside, I still typically beat fliers and some ss'ers to missions without one.

I run a scrapper build that is extremly similar, swap taunt for char, gloom for fireblast and dark oblit for fireball. With this build you will be able to team well, farm, solo AVs, pylons, rwz challenge.
  11. Enots

    Fire/SD/Blaze

Sent... binds are fickle though it took me some tinkering and I don't know if that was my final one. You might try player questions they helped me get it perfect.
  12. Nihilli and Umbral have some really good advice. Some things to note though are that without defense debuff resistance and no active mitigation (knockdown, stuns) there are a lot of mobs that will tear through that defense really quickly. Your only real mitigation is killing fast, which you should do on a fire/fire scrapper.

Once you get around 20% defense to all you can always pop 2 purples to pop yourself up to the softcap and be extremly survivable. I suggest monitoring your in game stats.

Another way to add survivability is good slotting of healing flames ( I use doctored wounds set). Building for recharge is great on /fire for healing flames and consume. Getting the +hp accolades and building for +hp is a very good way to increase survivability.

Also make sure to get some knockback resistance in your /fire if not you will get knocked around like a ping pong ball. +8 mag is about all I need.
  13. Enots

    Fire/SD/Blaze

This is the build I run. I havent had trouble with any AV's yet (no temps, no inspis). The only time I run out of endu is spamming my aoes. Even then I can pop blues, I have a bind that turns all my inspi to reds except medium blues and greens. And it kills mobs as fast as any other melee toon i've played.

  14. My end comes back at about 2.67 end/sec before the panacea and perf shifter procs, so ~3 end/sec with them. When I'm launching off all my aoes and fighting all out I can still drain myself of my end, but with that many npcs falling blues shouldn't be a problem to come by. I actually earn endurance during the rage crash as long as I don't attack during it.

As far as it being the best, for me yes it is. It does exactly what I designed it for, a great teaming brute, with great survivability and very good aoe and single target damage.

If you want more aoe damage drop soul mastery for mu mastery and grab e-fences and ball lightning. If you want to be able to take more damage drop the endu reductions from gloom, dark obliteration and haymaker and slot up tough and deflection for resistance. Its really up to you.

Some other points. Accolades help a lot. The +20%hp and +10endurance increase all your +regen and recovery bonuses. Slotting active defense and grant cover the way I did gives around 93% defense debuff resistance. Defense debuff resistance is critical on defense based toons, without it you can see your defense drops tremendously fast.

Feel free to ask any other questions, I have a 50 fm/shield scrapper and 45 dm/shield brute, so I'm pretty well versed with shield.
  15. This is the build I run. It has permahasten when farming from the force-feedback proc in footstomp. I took down a rikti pylon in less than 8 minutes. It is a little short on the soft-cap to ranged and aoe but as long as you open with dark obliteration (-to hit) it will effectively be the same thing.

  16. I was under the impression that +4s took 183%ish accuracy to cap. Mids is only showing 143%.
  17. My goal was a soft-cap to sm/leth and ranged fire/mental build with a decently high recharge. This is the best I could come up with. I don't like the low accuracy in drain psyche. Any suggestions?

  18. On my /shield scrapper I use combat jumping and hurdle with a microfilament HO in sprint. I get around as fast as most. I do have a BOTZ set in combat jumping.
  19. I have a quick question that is related. I have my FF proc in footstomp on my ss/shield. Does the chance to proc only happen when KB is applied to the mob (66.7% chance for FS) or every enemy hit?

It procs a lot enough when Im soloing against spawns set for eight to bring my recharge average up from 87.5% to permahasten levels, 105%+.

For the OP, one other thing to be aware of if your shockwave is up faster than the 5 seconds, it will not reproc on the next mob as it wont stack, could be a slight annoyance factor wasting the recharge from the second SW.

Fourthing/Quading that as well. Earning big money markteering recently has been harder due to the number of people that are doing it now; compared to how many were a year ago. I earn plenty of money just running lvl 50 content on my diff toons. Its not as fast as farming but I enjoy it much more and the rewards are still pretty substantial.
  21. I hope she has a good personality...
  22. I just hope that this won't mean changing all pseudo-pets, please leave my blizzard on def/corr alone.
  23. The only melee I played redside were brutes. When I decided to start a toon blueside the closest thing I could find and enjoy, like I do brutes, was a scrapper. I now have my first hero above level 40. Just my two cents.
