So I was playing my lvl 41 Staff/WP Brute and wanted to log him out in the PPD building for the day job patrol xp bonuses. I was in PI at the time, so I went inside that particular PPD building and then BAM! I was in first person mode; and it looked like I fell through the map (but not all the way).
So at first I was like, "okay...." and tried to zoom out but no go.
My screen looks like this:
I tried logging out and then back in and the view is the same.
I'm able to run, fly, walk etc...like normal but the view is like that no matter what I try.
I /bug'ed and sent in a /petition but...just wanted to throw it out here...don't go in the Peregrine Island PPD building! :P
I was going to get a lowbie to the PI PPD building to see if it happens again but..alas, when I logged into a totally new character I had the same view
Edit:
Okay so it wasn't a "brand new toon"....a lvl 1 I had made for a name reservation...I just made a brand new toon and no camera issues for him....walk into the PPD PI building and no issues.... scared to try other toons that I want to play with...
Well, a lvl 50 villain is okay and one of my lvl 50 heroes is good....wonder why my lvl 1 villain toon that is a placeholder for a future toon is messed up? :|
2nd edit:
Ooookay....that's weird.
So logging out and then back in didn't help the toon...
But logging out, exiting the game and re-launching fixed the issue on my original toon (staff/wp brute)....whatever. -
Quote:...Decent reboot, the boy who plays Peter doesn't look even a bit like a science nerd. It's entirely sensible he would end up with someone like Gwen Stacy (as played by Emma Stone)....
Yeah he seemed a bit "twitchy" to me and my friend...like he had some sort of tick that never let go.
*shrugs* I understand it a little bit but...*shrugs*
I think he could be a good/great Spider-Man; just needs less focus on the love/romance thing and more smart-alec/wise-cracking/fighting villains stuff! -
Quote:I had forgotten about the taunt aura. I'm used to taking brutes with damage auras, so I was a little concerned there. I guess I'll roll a brute ?/Regen. I'm thinking Kinetic Melee (mitigation) or Titan Weapons (AoE and bonus defense)...or SS (never played SS). Decisions, decisions...
Thanks for all the replies, guys! Have a safe and happy 4th!
I have a lvl 50 StJ/Regen brute and he was great fun to play (and still is)I was really surprised at how much I liked the toon (since I never really played regen that much before-hand).
I think with stacked Dull Pain (and +max hp accolades) he has a total of 3200 or so HP....pretty nice -

So I just finished watching the movie.
It was okay but...meh...definitely had the "just watched this" feeling from it...
Didn't really have that much fighting/action in it, to me at least...*shrugs* Which I guess is "normal" for "origin stories". -
So on FB City of Heroes put up a picture of Water Blast:
My question is:
Where is the action taking place? I don't recognize any of the visuals/buildings...part of a revamped Kings' Row, IP? Or just a section of Praetoria that I don't recall since I don't play there that much? -
Quote:Yeah, I know some people have those Once through Eight Times the Victor badges...I don't count thoseSome people have Bug Hunter and/or Passport, and at least one has 8 Year Veteran.
(And some people have Once... through Eight Times the Victor, but the badge tracking sites don't count those. I think they count in your /info, though.)
But it does indeed look like some have Bug Hunter or passport....
Hmm... -
I think I'll be seeing this movie tonight w/a friend.
We'll see how it goes... -
Quote:/Cold is better for -regen. /Poison just doesn't get enough of it (though it really, really should). They're probably tied for -res ability, depending on how you play your /Poison.
While I will be making a Water/Poison Alchemist character, I do think that Water/Cold will be better for most of the game's content.
Okay so at least we're thinking along the same lines. Hmm... -
Quote:Agreed. I only have the S/L shield and actually found I don't use Ecplise that much (with all the buffs/etc, I'm at dmg resist cap anyways...).I would say yes, for a couple reasons.
You can get the SL resist shield and use it--I find it useful from time to time--but the power choices you have to forfeit because of getting the others makes it not worth it, to me. But let's say you do pick them anyway. What good will they do on those AV only fights? I can think of a few that won't have nearby adds (and some of them that do), but the one's that don't? They're all designed in such a way that even if you did have the shields, they wouldn't stop you from getting one/two-shotted. Plus, you'll still suffer the problem of having a lack of bodies to heal off of. And really, with all the people on a league--if you're the one getting the aggro, something is going wrong.
I take my human-form out on trials occasionally, and I never find myself wishing I took the extra shields.
Quote:Let me guess, you take dwarf as a set mule for kinetic combats? I had a similar build. Didn't find the risk of detoggling constantly worth it, but it was pretty survivable. -
Quote:Thanks to Whisper X and the Virtuites, got RHW last night (been real busy IRL). That left, surprisingly, only Ninja Monkey. So, again, Virtuites pulled through with a perfect Summer Blockbuster run (even though I only got my last badge, others got all eleven). Though, a handful of Team Red Inspirations also helped.
1398
Congrats!
I want to know what badge you have (and a few others have) that EI doesn't have.
I know I'm missing Triple Threat and the MoMag. iTrial but once I get those, I'm up to 1397....

I agree, thanks for 'dumping' the Friday part of Freebie Fridays
I gotz the hat! -

And even if you could put it in hurricane, doesn't hurricane do a repel effect and not technically KB? So it wouldn't work anyways, yes?

Of course I say that and it happens....
Now if only they were 50% off.... -
Quote:hahah it's true!Because he had to find somewhere to post an image macro.
It's like if a shark stops swimming, it drowns.
But seriously...if Zwill sticks to his word they said they'd give a week's warning before Water Blast is released...so...unless <24 hours counts for a week's notice....
Edit:
Oh I'm hoping for 50% off of both enhancement storages....of course I'm always hoping for thatAlthough I'm guessing it won't happen (or any enhancement sale will happen) until the # 4 and 5 enhancement storage increases come out on the market.

I have a DM/DA Tanker that does pretty well on all iTrials. He's died a few times but that may have been due to my ability to talk/chat instead of clicking on my heal power
He has t4 Barrier on top of DA's great resists (and have him IO'd for 45% s/l def atm)...
The times that I've died on him were:
In the UG:
* From Olympian Guardians PBAoE almost-auto-hit nuke/stun
* Of course Avatar (mainly from the darn -end/recovery debuffs dropping my toggles and then killing me)
In MoM:
* Mainly because the one time I led it with my tanker, I had way too many lvl 50s or 50+1s...so...yeah...
In Mag.:
* All those Commanders doing Energy damage (my least resisted dmg type). But only died once or so.
* From the 3 AVs because of the -healing received debuff/power
Beyond that he's pretty sturdy -
I liked the video. I'll agree with what others have said that CoH doesn't have too much power creep in it.
Yes the Incarnate stuff does have it to some degree (the lvl shifts are the biggest red flag) but overall; not bad.
I agree with Arcanaville, and have stated before as well, that there should be other ways to complete missions. Why can't controllers/doms hold a mob to "defeat" him and get xp? Why can't there be side-objectives to heal NPCs and keep them alive but never attack the mob(s)?
I remember reading a review for, I think, Superman 64 (for the N-64) and they said (paraphrased), "since supes is basically invulnerable, instead of giving him a health meter and worrying about some thug beating you up, we gave the city a health meter."
I never played the game (think it was rated poorly due to bugs) but the whole "save people from x" or "put the fire out" may be better for some ATs (player controlled toons) than others.
Edit:
As far as new incarnate slots I really hope the devs continue to limit the newer iTrials. But not just by "needing to unlock" destiny/lore (or Hybrid) but actually slotting the t3 ability so that at least the person is lvl shifted and can be of some help. *shrugs* -
I still wish we could see who is in the queues for trials. That way if I see 3 scrappers (tankers, etc...) in the queue I know I should swap and get a debuffer/buffer
I did the SE once with a stalker, brute (me), tanker and scrapper. We did it but it was painfully slow (darn Sylvia Roxeman (sp?) AV took forever). -

I'll just agree with what others have said.
I think most play this game because it's "fun"; what fun means is different to others but I see that big behemoth of a game being attractive to some is the company name behind it as well as "well my rl friend is there..."
As others have said, there's no real competition....about the closest thing we have is badging and seeing which server(s) gets the hardest badge first -
