Well, I don't know about anyone else, but I only found out about this from this server-specific post, rather than the more server-general one.
Dissemination of information is a Good Thing. -
Got a couple that I'm quite happy within this lot, though I must admit most of my characters are just able to fly/teleport/jump/run fast because of the great last word in RP, "Because I said so, shh."
The Elysienne teleports by stepping from the real world to the pocket of limbo she discovered and calls the Grey World. It corresponds with reality to a great deal, but time moves oddly there. She's able to use this distortion of time to move near-instantaneously from one place to another.
Troposphera, a mutant Ice-wielder, uses super-speed. It's RPed as her skating around on a thin layer of ice that she lets melt quickly behind her. A little "The Incredibles" I know, but it seemed the only logical way to explain any travel power for a character whose sole mutation is the creation of ice.
Exodus Terror's super-jumping is down to her polymorphic nature. Simply a matter of reconfiguring her lower body into something akin to a jumping insects and propelling herself. Simple, effective, and kinda boring as explanations go.
Leytap's flight is explained by her technomagical control over electricity. Running electricity through a coil of copper wire creates a magnetic field. She manipulates the electricity and magnetism to raise her copper-wire and metal costume into the air, directing it with magical impulses to warp the magnetic field generated. -
I'm not entirely sure if we meet all your criteria, Cyrsei, as only you can be the judge of that, but if you'd like to have a look around www.dauntlessreverie.com you might find our group interests you. We're a long-standing SG (with VG sister-group) that promotes RP when interacting in the general game world, its own members-only Global channel, and an active website and forum containing out of game, out of character and in-character interaction, stories, art, even some music.
The leadership are currently discussing the organisation of the next ECHO event, a halloween-style costume party that's been going since year one of the Alpha game.
EDIT: Oh, yeah, regarding the costume issue; We basically say that you can wear as much or as little of our colours as you want, so it's totally up to your personal discretion. -
*Looks at the "Congratulations, American Legion" thread*
Well, you asked for propaganda. -
I never had the privilege of knowing or speaking with Sailor Rush, but from the glowing tributes so far, that sounds like it is entirely to my detriment.
My condolences to his family and friends. A man or woman who is prepared to serve in the armed services is a man or woman with more courage than most, and that should always be honoured. Like Makai, I'm very much what used to be referred to as a "conscientious objector," but I acknowledge the sacrifices and hardships suffered by those who choose to serve their country, even if they're sometimes abused by the government they serve.
I hope his last moments were peaceful, and he left his family with grace and dignity. -
You may have been thrown off by Makai's recent serious thread about his deleted character, Stryph, but this one is just a pun thread.

There are some archetypes that I have trouble playing.
I once got a Mastermind to about level 35, on the release of CoV, but hit a wall and couldn't get any further. Since then, I've not got a Mastermind past about level 14. I just don't think the playstyle is what I enjoy.
Blasters generally also escape me. I don't know why, it's just something I don't seem to be able to get behind. My highest blaster was a Fire/Psi character, and was a beast for AoE damage, but I think the random nature of the progression through missions put me off. I either wiped out a mob in three seconds flat, or died in a heap in three seconds flat. No in-between.
I don't particularly like Kheldians either, especially since finding out that I couldn't make a viable build for a Warshade that centred around the control powers. But I love the story for that Warshade, so I'm keeping her around. At the very least for RP purposes.
On the point of Dominators... Electricity Control opened the Archetype up to me. I now have an endurance-draining scrapper that can throw holds at people. That's pretty awesome. -
In one of the Resistance arcs (on the Wardens' side, if I recall correctly) you have a chance to speak to an old homeless man in the sewer system that confirms that Praetoria was indeed built over what used to be America.
I've also seen some NPC text that mentioned something about rebuilding Tokyo, so Japan can't be a completely lost cause. -
Due to my being on a different timezone, I'm gonna be parking up earlier than advertised most likely. Feel free to drop down and join the pre-RP RP!
-
It's so rubberbandy, and as soon as I tried to zone into a mission, it's just left me on the pre-loading GR splash-page.

The way I see that, drinking Enriche is, to the mind of the person making the "Cole-aid" comment, endemic of generally indulging in traits that are assigned to "sheeple."
A person may not necessarily have to drink Enriche; if he's a productive and loyal member of Praetoria, he's still one of the "sheeple," and can be told not to drink the Cole-aid... but anyone who does drink Enriche definitely qualifies for the comment, whether they're otherwise seen as one of the "sheeple" or not, in which case the comment becomes a genuine piece of advice, rather than just an exhortation to open your eyes to the truth.
.... If you see what I mean. It's late where I am, so my syntax may be off. -
Yeah, I was bringing a synonym to the attention of the OP.
Great idea, by the way! I'm having occasional trouble on my hardcore Resistance character myself sometimes, and occasionally find myself defaulting to Clockwork Orange nuspeak. -

It's linked with the Online Store being down. Hopefully when it comes back online you should get those slots back. If not, I guess you're gonna have to contact NCSoft support. Which would suck.
I'm in the same boat; deleted a name placeholder character so I could make my Praetorian Elec/Elec dom and.. boom, slot unavailable. -
Hello, folks. Just found a Clue in a tip mission that you may find interesting.
I was running the redside Tip mission that's started by a "Vial of Pulsating Liquid" in which I found a Mysterious Case. On breaking it open, I recieved this clue.
Quote:Which... well. That could either bode well for the renovation of Astoria as they've made an in-game reference to it that wasn't there before...Very Annoyed Spirit
You destroyed an odd case within the old warehouse. Upon its destruction, a spirit shot out of it, looking very annoyed - at you! It circled around you for a few moments before saying these words...
"You! You're the one who... oh no, wait, maybe it wasn't you. Was it? Maybe it was another you...or someone else entirely. Regardless, look, this chaos? Not good. You heard of Lughebu? God of the Banished Pantheon? Bah! You wouldn't care. Your type never does. All I'm saying is that you should steer clear of Dark Astoria. No one can stop what's happening there now."
With that, the spirit vanishes.
... or seeing as it says "No one can stop what's happening there now" it could bode very badly, as in they have no plans to change it at all.
Personally I'm hoping for the former... just thought you might find it interesting.
Edit: Oh! Now this is also interesting! Later on in the same mission, a group of Wyvern and Legacy Chain talking amongst themselves.
Quote:Ember of Flame: So we have your word that you'll give us more aid in Dark Astoria?
Talon Agent: As long as you'll promise to look into more enchantments for our weapons - we're getting nothing right now in comparison to Longbow.
Edit 2: No further hints about DA, sadly. But here's hoping! -
I *would* at this point be making my Electricity Control character but due to the online store being down when I deleted my "name-placeholder" character, I lost the slot.
Gah!
I really hope my name isn't snapped up in the interim... I've been sitting on it since I found out Electricity Control would be in GR. -
I have only two words, and they will both be overly elongated to emphasise my glee.
*Ahem*
Electricityyyy Controooooool! -
Charging around Founders chasing down the incursions was very fun indeed. It was a bit of a shame the spawns in the plaza that Infernal was in weren't at the same level as the others, as that would've been one hellishly awesome battle.
It's also a bit of a shame I couldn't go to Atlas because the processing power needed would've melted my computer, but that's not the event's fault. -
Perhaps they're for the villainous party games afterwards.
"And here's a picture of the bride taking her shot at the pinata... what was his name again? Bob, I think..." -
I think, to be honest, the thing that motivates the petitioning in MY mind is the obvious dichotomy between IC reaction (the shouting at, and etc) and OOC motivation (I WANT THAT SHINY SG NAME GIMME GIMME GIMME)
-
I think you got it pretty much dead right in the way you handled it. The "I'm RPing" excuse can be abused pretty badly at times and that seems to be a prime example. Kick, petition, attach a Note on the character being a jerk, ignore+gignore and move on to more positive things.
Here's hoping your RP and Virtue experiences are more positive from here on in! -
When Silas says "it" in the first couple of sentences he means subtlety. I stumbled a little reading that first time through.
