  1. I often consider this.
However, I think, beyond the sounds, which syllables are stressed and whatnot can be more telling/interesting.

My main/forum handle is rather obvious (I think), but another major character of mine is named Zavathanir.
    Za VATH a NEER

Oh, I suppose an alt of mine, Xzeemzo is not always immediately known by others.
    ZEEM zo

    Zox'Oculox
    ZOCKS OCK you LOCKS
  2. Yeah, I caught this when it first came out for rent (or shortly there around) and both my wife and I enjoyed it immensely.

A few days later, my best friend told me about some great movie they just saw that I had to see... the same one, hehe.

It just was what it was. I was very surprised, as I had zero idea it was even going to be good... knew nothing about it... A wonderful little gem!

    And yes... Michelle Pfeiffer... Pfantastic!!
    (Yes... I did)

EDIT: Oh, and I've been meaning to watch this again... As much as I liked it, I'm finding myself unable to fill in the blanks about many of the details now!

    So sad...

    Seriously...
It was bugged, they fixed it... It was not due to any players complaining about it.
    *shrugs*
When people post in forums to demean others by calling them wimpy whiners and call the wahmbulance and all... And they do an awful lot of complaining and whining... It really doesn't do anybody any good (Really, I have much more entertaining ways to get enjoyment).

Cheer up, Sapphic! Look what sadness does! Nothing good!!

    And... Zloth leaving??
I owe that man many thanks for learning about Demo Editing and for all of the resources, commands and such that he has provided.

EDIT: For the URR URR another crybaby that couldn't handle this mission crowd... I recall doing this mission once or twice... only solo... I don't recall having any problems... I seemed to enjoy it *shrugs* The only really memorable thing about it was I took some screenshots of EK and Frostfire hanging out.
  4. Haha, as soon as I say your name, Dark_Respite, had replied to this thread I realized I left out DEMORECORD!!!!

Seriously, that is such a fantastically awesome superb feature and... I too fear providing such an awesome thing might get overlooked if/when they make another version of the game, hehe.

We can't let that happen though!
*goes to flood inboxes with the importance of the demo recording/editing feature*

Also... Knockback! With the two players hitting the same foe with knockback... I love it when we're doing that in opposite directions!
I used to duo with two characters that both used Telekinetic Blast as much as possible, haha.
Seeing the enemies being tossed in ZIG-ZAGS is wonderful! Good call!
  5. Correct, it's not just the weapon, but the powerset's attack animations.

    Also... It is left handed.
So, shields would also have to be on the opposite hand.
Or the entire powerset reworked animation-wise.
And not just all of the attacks, but something with the base combat stance and the way katana works... I can't recall entirely what Back Alley Brawler had to say about that many moons ago... But there were reasons why Katana was done the way it was and why it would be a rather enormous undertaking to change now (I think the base stance is tied to it being left-handed and every single thing tied to that would need to be redone... Didn't sound like simply flipping the animations was an option).

    These are the reasons why!
  6. Amerikatt,

I honestly do not think that Sam nor Dechs are twisting your words or even going out of their way to pick your posts apart...

I also do not believe that your intentions with what you said was bad at all, nor what they are saying, however... What you wrote does say what they have claimed.

I simply think a few poorly stated sentences and misconstrued meanings (by all involved) have perpetuated this exchange...
And, if everyone backs off and recognizes and admits that things could have been said better...
And that your true beliefs really do not differ much (if at all)...
    Everything's okay

Don't devolve further into silliness (not this kind of silliness).

Amerikatt... Some of the things you said certainly were worded in ways that had negative implications that were not so nice. However, I don't really think you hold to those negative beliefs... it just came out wrong. Maybe you can look back and see this yourself?

    *offers a group hug*
  7. With the seeming frequency and high amount of these all of a sudden (Unless this always goes on), perhaps it is a bit of optimism on my part (if such mistakes can be on the side of optimism) that maybe these are a bunch of false positives on NCSoft's part.
Maybe something is screwy with their detection and they're getting false positives for compromised accounts.

    *shrugs*

So far, has anyone reported any actual damage from these breaches of security?

As my career has me leading people all the time... I'd like to register a RL complaint about this as well.

Also... My Bots/Force Fields alien invader is quite a large bit of fun as well!

I really have to make a Warshade some day... Similar, in some ways, to my love of E3 Blasters.
  9. I've thought about posting such a thread many times, but never do it...
    Good job, Ironik!

Honestly, you all covered much of what I might say (probably won't stop me)...

Feycat, the customization and the open concept aspect are truly golden!

Also, I have to say (I sometimes forget this), just the powers and the way that they play-out so often mirror what I imagined: case in point -my main villain Malfaz. (short version): Malfaz has suffered his whole life from chronic migraines and dementia as side effects from his mild psychic mutation. After years of being mucked about with by doctors, he gained control of his powers to induce unbearable headaches and other psychic trauma.
I don't even have to try to role-play him sometimes... as I just use his powers (Mind/Psy Dominator) and watch all enemies around him hold their heads, suffering... It is pretty insane (Just as Malfaz would like it!).

Same goes for my main hero, the Electric-Knight.
It turned out that Electric/Electric/Electric Blasters just happened to mirror how I played that character in Pen and Paper games many years ago, just happens to be the powerset and AT combination that fits me the best with this game and gives me the most thrills, just happens to look and sound so very much to my liking... And just happened to be my first 50 and I never get enough of it (Well, not for longer than a week or so).
    ZAP ZAP!!

Mayhem Missions alone might keep me playing this game, haha!!

Super Side Kicking... Oh yes!! We used to go through that maddening juggling act (Level Tetris, what a great term). Sidekicking alone was terrific... full team sidekicking is just great.

    Mission Architect!
My friends and I have used this to create and customize our pastime even further.
It really has been a superbly awesome addition to our playing.
I have SG friends that make weekly arcs for our characters to go through.
And, honestly, some of the greatest uses I've gotten out of it were for creating atmospheric stages (sometimes with NPCs) chosen specifically for certain role-playing acts. The arena came in handy for a few of these as well!

    Just quickly...
    Among other things...
The ton of options: many powersets within ATs play vastly differently! I love that!
The casually friendly nature of this game, while still including greater levels of achievement and interest.
I hesitate to use those words "casual friendly", but it is so true. You can do just about anything in this game with any powerset combinations, power picks, limited enhancements, whatever... Log on, kill Skulz, have fun!!

Oh... Biggest kick... The Rag Doll Physics!! Every fight feels a bit new and different and spontaneous, in large part because of how enemies, teammates and my character may get knocked, batted, tossed around and such.

Thanks CoH and thanks for posting this, Ironik!
  10. Hehe, if I am right in reading the little bit of information regarding Ironic's playstyle and usage of the word "grinding", I'd say it is mostly an aspect of pace in one's playstyle (And a matter of over-all playstyle, taste and enjoyment).

I can understand calling what Uberguy is posting about there as grinding.
Grinding is keeping your nose to the grindstone, pressing the pedal to the metal... Getting (close to) as much out of your time as you can.

Nothing wrong with grinding if you enjoy it, but there's also nothing wrong with not enjoying that and not doing it.

I'm a pretty casual player (by my own standards, at least), so I can relate.
However, I've never found myself in trouble in this game, financially.
I may have just been lucky...
Most importantly... I've never slotted a single IO set. So, I guess that could be it.
Although, I do equip my characters with Standard IOs, often times throughout their careers to 50 (I prefer to craft and slot than to keep buying and replacing SOs).

I will say this, Ironik... Slot some Standard IOs or just SOs in that 50!!!
    What're ya doing?
  11. Cleb, I think I have some GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD GOOD advice for you.
    It's a bit tricky, but I think you'll follow...

Since you won't do this arc to get incarnate content (I understand), there is no incarnate content for you.

If you'd like to try some new content that you can do straight out of the box...
Speak with Ramiel in Ouroboros. He has some new content that might be fun!!
  12. Hmmm...

    Dear OP...

How do we know you're the real Tyger?

(Hope there wasn't any damage done!!)
  13. Quiet American... You are not the only one (I guess you missed my earlier posts, hehe).

Still... this thread has been more entertaining to me
I stopped watching after Episode 2, however, I'm thinking I'll give the rest a shot again, so I've skimmed over most of the details people discuss here.

And... Lumi... now we see... this was all just a platform for your pro-farming propaganda!!

I'm hesitant to comment on this (usually means I shouldn't bother), but...
St0ner... Pride in being one is what truly makes you one.
We all have the potential, but those of us who embrace our worst elements and resign ourselves to our faults, instead of focusing on overcoming them and improving... are an ugly nuisance, not only to others, but to themselves.

I've found that someone who considers themselves an *** applies a bit of a different definition for *** than others.
As though being an *** is more about being a tough guy, individual and seen by others as too much to contain.
Where the reality is... most others view an *** as someone to pitty, look down upon and/or someone who basically hates themselves so much, they've given up trying to convince (prove to) anyone else that they have redeemable qualities.

I'm not saying any of this to be mean or call anyone out. Not at all.
I honestly only post such things for the possibility that someone might find it helpful, useful or, at least, interesting.

    Anyways...

    Braaaaaaaaaaainnnnssssssss...

You know, not that everything else you said wasn't good, but this little bit there is a truth that is so completely missed by many people, it boggles the mind.
I do believe that quote right there is sig worthy!

    Well said!
  15. ... Probably just a patch for visual sound... *nods*
  16. An excellent and simple suggestion (Not necessarily "simple" coding-wise, I just mean... a small change that would give large QoL benefit).

My name is (not really) the Electric-Knight and I approve (really) of this suggestion.

Great idea! I like the first button better, visually speaking.
I don't care where it is on the screen, it'd be a handy option!

    Thanks for suggesting it!
  17. This leads me to something I am in constant search for the answer to...

If, say... I have some hungry mogwai...

When is it not after midnight, so that I can feed them?

If I can solve this question... perhaps I can help those discern when after Thanksgiving is!!

    Or more rightly...
When it is no longer after Thanksgiving!
  18. Hehehe...
Hey, Tech, they haven't been doing auto bumps to level 50?
I know that they were, but you didn't manage to catch them, eh?

Seems like they should have used that to allow the EUers to continue to help test all aspects.

Then again, you'd probably just file bug reports of words not containing an "ou"!!

(Okay, that was the best non-offensive "joke" my brain could muster at the moment... I'll just leave an IOU for something actually witty).

He was extremely annoying. I'm not all about maximum xp/sec or steamrolling things, and I am happy to die here and there, but he was running in and grabbing the attention of the whole room, Snaptooth included, when we absolutely could not handle that. As long as he was on the team, we would keep faceplanting. The only times we could function was when he was eating dirt.

I'm all for having fun and being silly (and I'm usually a big talker in my teams, wasting time with chatter) but if we can't function at all together, I don't want you around.

Your toon sounds fun and I wouldn't mind playing with you, as long as we can keep it controlled and contained. If your antics wind up killing everybody over and over and over, well, that's not fun for the rest of us. It's only fun if we can keep our toons alive.

So if everybody survives, with the ocassional faceplant, then more power to you and I want in. If it's teamwipe after teamwipe, well, I'll stay over here thanks.
    Hehe
It brings up an interesting point of counter balance that I think people on either side of such things can forget about.
When this is part of role-playing, the other characters also have to play their role and that might very well mean (partly) correcting/helping or ditching the menace.

Usually the problems arise when 1) the other role-players don't consider the fact that they're free to role-play and interact to try and make things better or 2) the offender is immune to all attempts to generate some acceptability in regards to OOC playtime fun.
And 2) even includes a more extreme imbalance from the offender... when they are simply pushing things so far it defies the reality of the offending character. When constant faceplants mean absolutely nothing, it can greatly cheapen the whole experience and the role-play value. If that character had real thoughts and emotions and a shred of intelligence, they might either rethink their approach or rethink being involved in fighting at all.
The balance of any extreme thing such as this is generally taking it short of the point of extreme failure (let alone repeated extreme failures, hehe).
Much, much, much fun can be had through perseverance (through intentional or unintentional snafus). Repeated, completely overwhelmingly impossible odds might be fun for a set theme of imbecilic moron fighters of inept proportions (alright, who's in on this super team idea?), but, short of that, as in all cases of interactive/collaborative playing... everyone has to conceded and bend a little.

I don't have any steadfast rules and generally gravitate towards giving everyone the benefit of the doubt and a chance (or two) to get things right and well and we'll all have fun.
If/when that doesn't pan out, then, yeah, it's time to walk.

I do hope to run into Helpy sometime!

The bit that I emboldened is false!

In this case, the time frame given is a period of time that includes more than one day... It was either right before Thanksgiving or soon afterward!!

They have not failed to meet anything (Other than some absolutely false presumptions).

You keep posting this and multiple people have responded with the truth.
    It is not semantics.
    It is the truth.
So far, they are on pace for the late end of the time frame they gave.
  22. Alright...

Does someone have a problem with Princesses?

  23. They are doing it wrong (No surprise, of course)...

They should reboot the tv show in the style of the movie.

Now, that I would give a looksee.

Paul Reubens in Buffy... Best. death scene. Ever.
  24. In less seriousness...

Are they locking all of the Princesses in the vault??

    Is Disney getting NGE'd??

Princesses are out! They're not Disney-ish enough!
Furry animals are in (scaly ones, not so much... And Feathery ones get no pants).

Hey, you know what the answer is??

Down with Mickey... Up with Asterix!!!!

Maybe Disney will allow the Asterix movies to be released in America!
  25. Dear Marcian,

    Get over it, princess!

(I am, of course, *entirely joking.)

(* - well, maybe not entirely.)
