So far my TA/A has achieved L36 without Stamina. I have a few issues with end when it comes to soloing, but never on a team.

I am so sick of this entire debacle I honestly wish they would remove MA from the game, just take is all out, strip the badges, I don't care..... just make it gone.
I feel that this is the most serious danger the game has ever been in, due to punitive actions of this and that sort, which have been discussed to death... friends are leaving over the nerfs, let's just roll it back to the way it was and let people try to heal.
The whole thing is a giant negativity-sink and.... and I know they're not going to take it out but I really feel that would be the best outcome. This is going from bad to worse, as in floods of people leaving.
I don't want my MMO to die. And it feels like the MA/related issues are killing it. I'm just very sad

/signed and underlined. I'm sick and tired of hearing about the whole thing. -
I'm still an advocate of a simple feature: You shouldn't be able to rate an arc unless you've finished playing it. I think that would cut right down on that sorta griefing.

I learned as much or more from Mids' program than I did from all the forum reading put together. Amazing job, vastly appreciated, and I wish Mids all the best in the future.
Steiner, best of luck to you too. =) -
All that said...I've almost NEVER had FS miss. I have one accuracy and three rechargers in mine, and even when fighting high-level enemies I rarely miss.

Oh man. Thank you thank you thank you. It was a minor thing, but SO annoying.

I'll post mine again too. =)

So I'm thinking about running a kinetics defender (okay, kin/archery) in an RP SG. My question is...how would you RP a person having kinetics powers?
I've come up with two possibles that would fit:
1. He encourages people. But his mutant power is to make those encouragements actually WORK. "Go team! Come on guys, I know you can jump that high!" and the like. Yes, I plan for him to be semi-annoying.
2. He alters probabilities. That is, he steals luck from one place and puts it somewhere else.
For various reasons, I'm having problems with both concepts (how do you RP having problems controlling the first one? and we already have a probability controller in the SG, so I don't really want to overlap too much). Any thoughts on the RP, or other options for Kinetics? -
As a side note, sometimes the buffing priorities get thrown all wonky. The best example I can think of deals with Fortitude and Psi attacks. My /emp troller can hit Power Boost and then Fortitude, and suddenly the (whatever) tanker has a 34% defense against Psi. It doesn't suck.
Overall, I agree with this guide, though. Thanks for posting! -
This is amazing, Posi. And it came along just when I was really starting to feel the pinch on Infinity. Thanks so much for all you guys do.
And, save a little for I13, okay? =) -

Even though the people that need to read this probably aren't going to....I'd like to add something...
If you're leading a team, and looking for more members, a grayed name means that the person is on a team, thus cannot join your team.
I can't tell you how many tells I've gotten from people to join their team when I was already on a team and have completed a few missions with them. I could understand if I had just joined the team, but it's almost quite rude when you're already teaming. It's like saying "Your team sucks, and mine is better".

My personal favorite is getting tells asking me to join a team FROM THE LEADER OF THE TEAM THAT I'M ALREADY ON. Get a CLUE, people!
Yeesh. *kicks away soapbox*
To the OP: Great guide. I've been using stuff like this for a while, and it never occured to me to post any of it. Bravo! -

Great guide!
Here's a bind that I use to change target focuses on the fly:
/bind shift+4 "beginchat /bind 4 "targetcustomnext enemy alive "
So, when you hold down shift and hit 4, this pops up:
/bind4 "targetcustomnext enemy alive
Just type in whatever search term you like, close the quotes, and hit enter. Presto! -
Another thing to mention is the fact that TP Foe works like other "attack" powers in that you can target through someone else. Specifically, if someone else on your team has invisibility of some kind, he or she can get places you can't...and you can target through that person to TP the foes to you.
Just make sure that your targeter has an idea of
A. How pulls work
B. What TP Foe can and cannot affect. -
I know this guy. Seriously, like he exemplifies everything you're writing about up there.
To give you an idea, he's an empath defender.
Who can't get into a single SG.
And who can't get on a team.
That takes some doing. -
Super Group Name: Special Forces
We are a team of Defenders, all with military titles in our names. We created this group specifically to prove to ourselves and to others that there are no bad defender builds. Specifically, the four founders are a Rad/Rad, a Dark/Dark, a TA/Archery, and a Storm/Elec.
Do you ever catch yourself wishing that your O2 boost healed more than buffed? Or that maybe your Twilight Grasp was an auto-hit that healed a bit more? Or that you had a Speed-Boost arrow (or an auto-hit PVP arrow)? Then we're the team for you! Come join Special Forces and help us prove just how dangerous a group of Defenders can be.
We are oriented toward public service and we look forward to hosting costume/bio contests in the near future. We would like to do search-and-rescue operations as well as teaming within the group.
Special Forces: We're not the best, but we're here.
Please send a tell to @captain catastrophe if you're interested in joining. -
Oh I know about the Xp and content and such in the PVP zones (it's how I got my Blapper so high). I was just curious to see if there was a good in-game reward for such things. I'm not much of a PvPer, but I might take some of this guide's advice to start a character to use for experiments.
...can you tell by that last sentence that I usually play villains? -
I too am impressed with the guide in general. I have only one question:
Is there a point to PVP? What I mean is, is there an in-game reward? Or is it just about the bragging rights? -
Not always. I have teamed with a guy a couple of times who was obviously put together with a single click on the Random button ("Dressed-In-The-Dark Man!") but he was one of the better Scrappers I've teamed with.
I joined a PuG Cavern Trial for the badge of it, and it was being run by a Taxibot. Things went so well (we finished in 25 minutes and THEN destroyed the boss) that I went a rolled up a T-bot that night. Yay! -
I'm not sure if it's quite what you're looking for, but it achieves the same effect.
Created a bind like "/bind tilde "afk Insert Funny Slogan Here." Then when you start to type, hit the tilde and then Enter to type. When you hit Enter again to display the text, the afk box automatically disappears.
If there's a cooler way to do this, I'd like to know myself. -
To use the search function, either type in /search or click on the little toggle that says "Search," which you will find right next to the word "Team" on top of your chat window. This will open up the search window, wherein you can search by archetype, level, zone, origin, name, and about fifteen other criteria. This will allow you to find people with which to team.
Things of interest:
In the search window, the light blue names are the people who are not currently on a team. Grayed-out names show people who are currently teaming.
You might not be able to see all of a person's search comments, but if you hold the arrow over the start of their comments it will show the rest of them.
Most peolle don't know how to use search comments or set the flag that shows whether they are looking for a team. I know I didn't when I started. When you're not currently in a team, click on the word "Team" at the top of your chat window. This opens up a window that allows you to type in your search comments. I usually say something like "No blind invites; please send a tell." That, or "NOOOOOOOOOOO," which seems to only infuriate the spammers (which is neither here nor there). Above the search comments window, you will see a line of text that probably reads, "Not looking for a team," or something similar. If you click on that, you can select different options like "Looking for any team," or "Only looking for missions."
Hope this helps. -
Plus, you annoy people to the point of hunting you down to commit murder. No offense or anything; it's certainly not personal.
