RPing Kinetics
He's a quantum mechanic. He "tunes up" a person's quantum energy state by energizing their quarks and muons while boosting or reducing the gain on their strangeness and charm and ensuring that their up/down is properly aligned with their top/bottom. In radical cases, of course, a certain amount of spin control is neccesary. Just be careful when it comes time to replace a worn out part. You can't buy hadrons at the local Schucks! You definitely don't want used. No telling where it's been...

Yeah, I have a Kin myself. I choose it because I wanted to have a speedster and I figured the self speed buff would stack with ss. lol
So the way I RP him is he is a mutant with the ability to control and alter the essense of speed. Imagine if the Flash was able to manipulate the Speed Force, not just in himself, but in all things around him.
So my character doesnt just make himself run fast, he can slow everyone around him down, or speed them up aswell.
In situations like a woman being shot at. He uses his powers to slow the entire scene, or just the bullets or run real quick and get her out of the way or any number of different variables.
I think this fits with it pretty well since some of the powers slow people down and some of the speed them up.
As for others ideas with it... Magic spells is one I was thinking about, blessings and curses/hexes.
I also had the idea of a Gung Fu master and his use of Chi. He would use Chi or Ki strikes, not to do physical harm but to slow/block others Chi and speed up the flow of others Chi.
Whether or not I'd rp it that he has to be within melee range or has mastered it so he can do it from affair, i havnt choosen yet.
I also used to RP some of the kin powers as sound powers before sonic came out. You could still have it sorta be that, especially when you see the heals and how they radiate how. Reminds me ripples in water and sound waves.

Well, there are perfectly legitimate real-world martial arts which use a certain amount of kinetic energy manipulation to throw or block opponents. One possibility for RPing a kineticist is an extension of these arts.
Another possibility is someone who is, essentially, an energokinetic, and anipulates all sorts of energies (gravity, kinetic, potential, plastic and elastic). Sure, it's a stretch in terms of physics, but then, so is throwing fire.

Another possibility (aside from just going 'screw physics' and saying they manipulate kinetic energy ) is time manipulation- speeding people up or slowing them down by mucking about with local time... although I'm not sure how it would deal with things like Increased Density and whatever the superjump power is >.>

My Kin on Pinnacle's powers are derived from the fact that he is a Mathematician specializing in Chaos Theory as well as Game Theory.
Altering probability is just a side-effect.
I use "nanites." It's kind of like the instructions for Power Armor in Fallout 3, just relax and let the little, itty-bitty robots do the work for you.

Red Dwarf had a funny episode in which the crew encountered a dead space station where they had discovered that there were positive viruses. Luck, charm, virility. You ever have one of those days where you felt wonderful and you could do no wrong? You caught a case of Good Luck. *heh*
Your kineticist could be a virologist who is infecting everyone around him with positive viruses. Unfortunately, the body tends to produce anti-bodies against them pretty quickly, or the human body is a hostile enviroment for the virus so it tends to die off quickly.
Imagine how thrilled your supergroup members will be to learn that you're "buffing" them by infecting them with experimental micro-organisms!
I just started a Grav/Kin Controller, and I'm calling it an energy transference ability, covering kinetic, lifeforce, gravity, things like that.

MA Arc ID 8121: Rapp'Mas'Ta's War. The Rikti are trying to incorporate sonic effects into their weapons? THAT can't be good. Maybe we should ask them to stop.
My Kin mutant's got it defined as 'Metabolic Transfer'. She can move certain traits like muscle tone, reflexes, healing rate and so forth, from one creature to another. (For non-organics, she uses telekinesis to pick up the slack.)
My Fire/Kin Corr explained it as taking and manipulating souls for raw energy potential. It was quirky, but it worked.

So I'm thinking about running a kinetics defender (okay, kin/archery) in an RP SG. My question is...how would you RP a person having kinetics powers?
I've come up with two possibles that would fit:
1. He encourages people. But his mutant power is to make those encouragements actually WORK. "Go team! Come on guys, I know you can jump that high!" and the like. Yes, I plan for him to be semi-annoying.
2. He alters probabilities. That is, he steals luck from one place and puts it somewhere else.
For various reasons, I'm having problems with both concepts (how do you RP having problems controlling the first one? and we already have a probability controller in the SG, so I don't really want to overlap too much). Any thoughts on the RP, or other options for Kinetics?
I'm not the droid I'm looking for.
