Perhaps we need multiple 'Feedback' threads. One can have all the "This is great" posts; one can have all the "This sucks" posts and one can have actual feedback.
Anyway, the "random free item" so far appears to be selected from the "stuff people aren't buying" table. Today's is basically a free wakie. I don't see what else they could go with though. Giving away non-expendables probably isn't sensible and producing expendables worth making a fuss over would attract "pay to win" complaints. -
Quote:The good news there is that since all versions summon the same entity they're still stuck with controller damage. You're right about the 2 second pulse. I had read it as 0.2 (same as Ice Slick). So, my mistake there. Although I do think Masterminds with such a reliable mezz is a big mistake. Fire Controllers need to cage things, Masterminds don't. This isn't a big win for Controllers, its a big win for things that don't need Containment damage. It's better than nothing for Fire Controllers, but Ice Slick with a 50% longer duration + damage in an APP for Blasters and Masterminds.
I might be wrong. Now I'm thinking about it levitate and knockout blow are both knockup not down. I am sure I've had no end of things finish going through their get up animation while airborne. -
Quote:Bonfire only pulses every 2 seconds not 0.2. Since targets can't be knocked down after starting their get-up animation this can leave a significant, and often synchronised, period during which the targeted mob is free to act.Bonfire is autohit and has 100% chance to knockdown 5 times per seconds.
Also, this is hardly the first time an IO has dramatically changed the usability of a power. The Theft of Essence proc in Dark Regen is probably the most obvious example, but several of the ATO sets have similar effects. An FF, Cold or Sonic Defender turning a mediocre attack into a fairly reliable healing aura is set changing. The global chance for heal in the second Kheldian set and the Blaster +Mez protection IO change the viability of entire ATs. In context turning Bonfire into a semi-reliable soft control doesn't seem outside the new paradigm. -
Packs cost 80PP maximum and even assuming you got 4 insps and 3 windfalls you've got 340PP worth of stuff. You might not have anything you wanted but you can't have less than you paid for.
The problem of people selling rare items you can only get from super packs is avoided by having the cossies and wolf account locked. It's not just that it's against the EULA to sell them like in the other games referenced, it's simply not possible.
Not that such technicalities are likely to be relevant, it would be rather rare for the government to know what it was talking about prior to getting involved. -
Well it's a unique so more suited for characters with a single kb power they'd like to change than an energy/storm corruptor that rolled the combo despite hating knockback.

Click powers like Farsight don't degrade over time they use the boost at the time of casting for their entire duration. This also applies to the heal-over-times. Clarion has a 2 minute fixed recharge time though so to get optimum defence values you end up with a very slight gap between expiration of one Farsight and casting the next.

Flash from Illusion is AoE/None and is used a lot by carnie illusionists. That's the only one that comes to mind that is actually none not just special.

Actually there are several attacks without any position tag, mainly the controls used by rikti, Malaise, etc. Since they are typed psy there is relatively little that can be done about them whichever way you decide to build.

You are unlikely to softcap all positions, 33% and using a luck to softcap when necessary is perfectly possible however. If you have Parry (or equivalent) you can then keep melee at softcap any time you're in combat. On the other hand S/L catches more than any single position. S/L/E/N also covers the lower energy resists in DA and protects against the growing profusion of energy typed defence debuffs in newer content.
Softcapping one pair/position gives great protection, except when it doesn't give any. Getting high levels in the top 4 types or all 2+ positions gives a lower level of resilience but with fewer gaps. -
No, he's saying that the power granting you hide has a 10s duration and stays active even after you break hide. This prevents the proc from putting you into hide less than 10s after it last fired regardless of how much of that time was actually spent hidden. If it was merely a case of the proc not firing inside that period it would be one thing, waiting for the previous instance to expire and then applying the hide state several seconds late doesn't sound like intentional functionality.

Quote:Hopefully constructive feedback: It would be a nice perk if these tokens allowed you to change to Rogue or Vigilante if you have access to those alignments. If you want to provide more constructive feedback like "this is a great feature that i would rather get free per month as part of my VIP membership than server transfers or 400 points per month" then we're all ears.
Quote:I wonder if there would be a way to offer a choice, though; replace free server transfers with a more-inclusive "account service" token that could be used for a variety of features ... I bet the vast majority of VIPs would be okay (even thrilled) with seeing their twelve annual server transfers replaced with six annual transfers/side-switches/renames they could pick and choose as they wanted. -
I'm not seeing the ability to add 2.5 chosen ATOs to the 14 or so random ones opening those will have generated as game breaking.

Quote:Sorry, that wasn't intended as an attack on the idea; my mind took it in a different direction.I guess I wasn't overly clear. I intended my post to point out some cool NPC unique pieces that I would like to have as well as an idea for art direction. However, I must thank you for your completely useless/non-contributing post/attack on me. Speaks volumes, really
For us to have unique costume element(s) there would have to be the ability to design your own model/textures either in-game or with an upload link somewhere. Multiply that by a few dozen characters per person and a couple of hundred thousand people and the bandwidth and storage requirements literally do become mind boggling.
Kind of sad this has to be said really. But it does so... /\ This. -
Quote:Unique pieces in the costume generator of an MMO. The mind boggles.I also think some unique pieces would be kinda cool. Some NPCs are sporting some unique pieces such as most of Mother Mayhem's costume; Desdaemona has a tad unique looking going on. So maybe just giving us access to a lot of these pieces would be an alternative idea if the demand isn't high for a tights pack? Or maybe a mix of new stuff with NPC stuff?
-
Quote:Would there be any chance of getting an opaque version of the current 'painted on' with-skin tights? I'm sure Sister Psyche would appreciate Swan having something less transparent to wear around her husband. We're not taking anything away. Old painted-on look will still be available, but artistically, I think it's quite unlikely that we'd ever do a new, HD "painted-on" look.
Quote:So does that mean that any new spandex tops would have more realistic geometry?
You'd need an edged and edgeless version of each piece so people in fully gloved bodysuits don't have end edges at all the joins in the model. -

Quote:And if you use boosters to make it a level 30+5 set it's almost as good as a level 50 set anyway. Never mind, can't do that to bought sets.Should mention that the example you used, Basilisk's Gaze, despite being 10-30, a ton of people with holds use it right up to 50 for endgame, and many slot a fifth triple/quad IO from Lockdown or something to frankenslot it. Why? Because Basilisk's Gaze gives 7.5% recharge for the fourth set bonus. :3

Sets are balanced as a whole, any attempt to custom-mix them together means rebalancing every single power that exists; you can't just let balance go out the window because you've got arbitrary performance caps.
Flexible power sets are a valid concept to design into a completely new game, not one that can be implemented in this one without taking up months of development time that could be better spent creating something new or fixing problems. -

The OP is suggesting the same items be displayable as permanent way-points on the nav compass.

Of late 'Help' has turned into the go to channel for all teaming among F2P players, making it harder to actually use it to help people. A dedicated LFT channel working on the same server level unlimited access basis would be a major improvement.
