Well thats easy to recreate Use one of the atlas park outdoor maps, set it to 6 glowies you must collect [use ones that best resemble the beacons], then have GG appear to try and "reclaim" the zone. Hey presto! Theres your RV kind of event

Will make a start on this tonight out of the game [writing down ideas and such] and have an arc up and running by tuesday evening latest

    Which is best...

When i think of a person ingame, i usually tend to think of a single character of theirs that is their most powerfull. Thus i think you should concentrate on getting one awesome 1

    Or is this in AE?

    Any high level PI arc.
Faultline arcs [if you dont get the machine back, then its pratically goodbye earth]
The war of the red caps - who knows what state the world would become if our worlds/dimensions became one
Striga Island - stop the council from attacking and destroying our city!
Rikti war zone - speaks for itself.
Cimerora - to save the future, one must save the past [how we dont know, but its what we are told]
Circle of thorns - constantly trying to summon a powerfull demon into our world that'll conquer us all.
Nemesis - trying to claim the planet as his own
Nictus - Wants to destroy/enslave life
    Devouring earth - see above

Thats just off the top of my head Basically we are constantly saving a device of some kind that if left in the hands of the villains, could cause major damage to earth

    New AR/Dev trick

Full auto does it for me

Personally for an AR blaster, if you ignore full auto then i tend to go a quick double of flamethrower + buckshot + m60, that SHOULD destroy most mob groups.
  5. Completely understand where your coming from. I too do like the feeling of being the last hope and charging head first into battle without a moments hesitation for my own safety, however i do also like the feeling of helping others to make a difference and the training aspect [come to think about it, training to become super i enjoy more perhaps].

Lets take your hacking into the riktis computer example. Would you as a player object to defending the area from abushes while an ally/another player "hacks into the system"? Or would you feel that it would need a little more flavour to it to help justify a world saviour there? [sorry about my spelling by the way, very tired here]

Think we can agree though that we both have very different definitions on what we constitute as being fun/interesting though. Since i love the filler episodes, seeing what they do after they've saved the world, training for that epic battle etc while you prefer the exact opposite to me. Though we are both right obviously, having a bit of diversity in the missions couldnt hurt

Edit: Actually your right, villains do tend to have a LOT more of the filler arcs/episodes in than heroes do. Never noticed that before until you said it and one would presume that it'ld be the other way. Hmmm interesting . . . .

The game has already handed AE authors a whole toolbox full of storytelling shortcuts in the form of a fairly rich, deep game mythology to draw from- IMHO there's no need to crank the dial up to 11 on every arc you write.
That is what im getting at, in that it does feel like there is constantly some form of "end of the world" disaster on the hour, every hour.

While i do agree with you samuel that doing a mission such as saving a persons caravan wouldnt be that exciting, i personally would find training troops for a battle in the war to be very exciting / a good filler. Obviously we do need quite a few of the epic arcs to make us feel like the main guy once in a while, but bringing down a hero a peg or two surely wouldnt hurt would it?

I could be on my own in this but i do really like the arcs/filler episodes that give more depth to the world or try and show that you are indeed human also.

A PERFECT example would be a MA arc i remember playing where you are a contestant on a TV show looking to win. Cant remember the name of it, but that was perfectly implemented to the way i'ld like more arcs added.
  7. Temp powers available for MA missions. Let us be able to give the player temp powers [even limit it to one of a kind to avoid exploits] which expire when they exit the mission.
Would open up a whole lot of options to make a mission seem more viable.
  8. Played for the quest for magic arc as the following.

    AT: Scrapper
Level: 29 [60% slotted with IOs]
    Powerset: Elec/fire
    Difficulty settings: +0 x2

Only tried the first mission and i was constantly dying in it, might be that my character didnt have any KB protection and was thus being constantly thrown around. Initial response is that its a good arc so far, but i'll have to level my current character up a bit more before i attempt it better

    Heroes of EU!

Remember before MA came live we all had an idea to create an arc about some of the heroes of the EU servers? Well its about time it happened dont you think? I've got a LOT of free time monday and tuesday and decided i want to make a decent arc, so why not one of these?

Do you know a hero/heroine ingame that you'ld love to see in an arc? Then simply state their character name/AT/playstyle/costume colour combination [screenie if possible] and i'll make a giant arc with as many of the names as possible! [3 per person max please!]
  10. Now as i look over the fallen soldiers that have sacrificed their lives so the people of planet earth could live another day, i cant help but wonder . . . . . . is being the beacon of hope worth all of this? Seeing the life of their souls leave their body is an image that will haunt me forever, no other hero has the pressure of so many lives on their shoulders so why do i? Is this gift of mine really a gift? Or is it a curse designed to forever torture me . . . . .

You know, i actually had some time to play earlier and instantly went to play some arcs. However one thing hit me, nearly every single one of them involves us saving the world in some form or another. Even the random generated radio rescue missions is to stop XX enemy group getting the person to take over the world. Yes saving the world is good and all, but would it be possible to perhaps have some less epic arcs please?

Something as simple as a training programme gone wrong, securing an area for future use or even just defending your base from wild attacks. I personally feel we need more of the lesser jobs of heroes to make the epic arcs feel more epic!

Too much saving the world can make a hero think twice and possibly go rogue . . . . . . .

So what do you people think? More epic saving the world arcs? Or more of the middle stuff?

  12. Decoys was the power of choice when playing the game "bulldogs" [not sure americans know this school game?]

Stalkers always won hide and seek.

School yard cossie contests werent very varied.

A team of toddlers with rage enhanced is scarier than you'ld imagine.

Infant minders are immune to fear.

I'm not even going to comment on "learn to play," but "leave my boss spawns alone?" Go to hell! You leave MY boss spawns alone! I quite enjoyed them, before they were changed to something I DON'T enjoy. For the umpteenth time, the POINT of more options for difficulty was to have more options for difficulty. Well, I don't have more options. In fact, I LACK the one option I liked. Right now, I have NO options.

So I hope I'll be forgiven if I don't appreciate having MY favourite difficulty setting ruined so someone else can have more fun with it while I rant and curse at my screen, specifically because there was NO NEED to mess it up and, from the looks of things, it wasn't even intended.

    *takes away sams coffee*

Think you had a bit too much
  14. See i find that warshades are OVERPOWERED. Once slotted correctly and used to their playstyle, you can basically do insane ammount of damage with also capped resis.

Its just the low levels that are a killer and a slog
  15. In certain missions my scrapper [with difficulty settings of +0 x2, with bosses] would often the large majority of the maps spawns consisting of two bosses.

Now as a scrapper i LOVE this However it doesnt seem to work on radio missions, only story arcs i've noticed this on . . . . . though i like the map of bosses so i aint going to complain

  17. The thread i made that made me THE noob

Saw a patch note about origin enhancements and quickly made a thread about it getting all excited that there will now be invention enhancements specific for your origin . . . . people laughed . . . . . . . a LOT!
  18. Going Rogue means you leave all current ties associated with you and start a "new life" either in crime or heroics. Thus i'ld be VERY suprised if you did get to keep your supergroup rank/membership.

I think that the reason that folks are complaining about the maintanence is not only due to the recent frequency of required downtime, but has more to do with the timing of the maintanence, which was a change from the historic time of 9:00 a.m. eastern.
Was the primary reason for us EU players that complained yes. Big difference going from early morning to mid-day. But to be fair, our complaints were nothing compared to the Australians who were the hardest hit by it, soon as i realised that i soon went quiet
  21. Warning! The following message is to those people i know ingame/people that know me!

Been getting a few messages from people i know asking why i aint on almost 24/7 ingame lately, well truth be told im having hardly any time to play at the moment and if anything my free time looks like it'll be going less and less.

Last 2 months i've got back into contact with my biological family and so have been juggling working 40-50 hours a week and seeing them more often and now next month im moving into my first house [sooooo scared and excited!] and so therefore will need time to settle in there too and set everything up.

My account will stay active [im having that GR closed beta invite if it kills me!! ] so i'll still be on the forums posting now and then, but for the next month or two i highly doubt i'll be ingame getting on peoples nerves with my random topic chats and quickie random competitions.

So just a message to say . . . . . see you all ingame at the ski slope/GR beta! [whichever comes first]

Hmmm why is this a bug? Why would level 50 characters get double influence? They don't get any more XP.

Heck if it works like this I'm gonna have to check it out!

Promotes heroes to use features such as ouroboros more often and also to exemp down more too.

Glowie in lava = impossible to complete mission. So far its fixed [though i did only do 5 test runs]
  25. Just do what i do and talk in another language . . . . they soon leave you alone.
