Quote:Those are exactly right as per the novel. If the Dark Watcher rezzed anyone in the comics, it was either situational, a non-canonical flub, or both. He's definitely Ill/FF.Me and a group of friends wish to try and make a close Clone of the original Freedom Phalanx and I think iv got the main power sets figured out but I need help setting each individual guide
Statesman: Invulnerability / Super Strength / Leadership / Fitness / Tanker
Maiden Justice: Martial Arts / Super Reflexes / Fitness / Fighting / Scrapper
Vambrace: Energy / Energy / Flight / Fitness / Blaster
Elementar: Storm Summoning / Electric / Defender
The Dark Watcher: Illusion / ForceField / Teleportation / Concealment / Controller
anyway I am up for corrections on this but what I'm really after is a nice playable set of guides up to 50. preferably NOT IO slotting, just SO slotting because were all a bit on the poor side..... -

Hey, don't knock it. I know I'd rather devour fondant fancies than the living any day. At least I don't have to worry about whether or not a fondant fancy washed its hands or knows how to wipe after pooping. And of course, there's bathing, oral hygiene, unwanted body hair...oh no, not in *my* horrific gaping maw.

Quote:*runs to see if the name "Spiraltrappor" is taken*Hmmm... I think we deffo need a Swedish/viking speaking server!
That way I can moan and rant without anyone getting heltossig!
And it's not colour or color, armour or armor... It's Färg and Barbröstad! Seriously!
And not lifts or elevators... It's actually Spiraltrappor! -
Quote:He might have been mixing up the usage of "shore up" with "ensure". Of course now that I look at it, the thread title is pretty poor in terms of both grammar and spelling, so I don't know how much good dissecting it is going to do."...sure up?" Are you trying to say shore up?

It's because measuring weight in pounds would be confusing for you. And probably expensive.

Wow, I never thought I'd see the day when we got Silver Mantis spines.
[/ QUOTE ]
Were not, this may look like them but they are not Silver Mantis spines because BAB didn't think about her when he made them

True, the new spines have no curve, while Silver Mantis' do. Hers look like the midpoint between legacy Spines and the new option.
The new Spines are still awesome though. -

So then you're all basically saying the IS no weak combo, just slow ones? That's not what I wanted to hear. I wanted WEAK.
[/ QUOTE ]really no, there isnt. i have commonly heard that emp/lit defenders are weak, my third 50 is seraph blue, and i soloed her a good portion of the way. things get annoying with chain mezzers like rik mentalists, but without shivans or pets, she has soloed quite a few eb's, just have to be smart, pack your insps with foresight, and know how to split the herd. Takes a whie, but in the end, she is standing with no deaths, and they are all zapped. maybe emp dark would be weak, aim is pretty much sera's damage lifeline, and if i recall, dark lacks an aim. though the to hit debuffs might help with survivability.

What the heck is an emp/lit Defender? An Empath who plays while high? I thought that was the other thread... -

Taking Alpha =/= Herding
Taunting enemies and attacking enemies builds fury too, ya know.
I think what he meant was that one shouldn't need to herd with a Brute, but just charge on in and keep moving. Fury will build as the mission progresses because, ultimately, it shouldn't drop between groups.
A MM that is poorly played is the bane of many ATs. An AoE-centric Brute is certainly one of them, but any well played MM is perhaps one of the best things on a team...
[/ QUOTE ]
This. A Brute is not meant to be played like a Tanker.
And in fairness to the OP, I am aware that bots in particular generate a lot of knockback when they attack. If you happen to be playing with a bots Mastermind who doesn't know how to manage their KB, well that's a problem with the MM player and not the archetype.
I've played a lot of KB-heavy characters, a bots MM included, and I always make it *my* responsibility to chase down and kill mobs that I scatter. If my character attacks something and it runs from the group at large, I neither need nor want a meleer chasing after it - rest assured, I will get it. Killing everything you personally attack is, IMO, just good manners. -
People still herd? And on a Brute, no less? I've never been a huge Mastermind fan, but playing to herding strategies was always tacky to me - especially when it's redside. If you've got a Brute and a Mastermind at the same time and you're not steamrolling, you're doing it wrong.

That's been true for awhile. Were it not true, we would be awaiting SS or EM or Ninjitsu in I16 instead of the utter fail that is ElA.

I'd be even more for it if it really was "Rent-A-NPC." Available to all players for a cost, and eventually free as a veteran reward like the veteran pets we have now.
I'd love a rent-to-own "solid holographic" Captain Mako. Or a Numina. Maybe even a Hamidon. -

5. What sound or noise do you love?
The American Anthem... the sound of the flag flapping in the wind... the screams of Miss Liberty when I made her see fireworks on that one fourth of July... wait! Stop tape! Are you SURE about that editing thing?!

Dude! Miss Liberty is his daughter! -
So both the copy for the Superscience Booster and ParagonWiki say that the Super Tailor should be available at any Tailor or Facemaker location. But so far, the only Super Tailor I've found is Trina in the Pocket D Tiki Room. Where are all the other alleged Super Tailors located?
-
Personally I'd rather have new APPs than proliferate the old ones. Where's Arms Mastery so Blasters and Defenders can swing a sword, axe, or mace, or Projectile Mastery so Controllers, Tankers, and Scrappers can shoot lethal arrows and assault rifles?
Villains are harder to fix, since they're tied in to the Patrons, which arguably takes care of any and all thematic complaints: your Patron is X, so you get X-related powers. If they want to proliferate or introduce new epics/ancillaries for villains, they'd either need to get rid of the patron aspect altogether or introduce new Fire/Psychic/Energy/etc. patrons. -

With color tinting...id say others are right...Energy Manipulation will pair up nicely theme wise for Sonic and Radiation Blast)
Energy Blast goes well with Kinetics. Kinetic's even has it's own repel power.
Wind Blast = Energy Blast (as said)...don't like the idea of energy with it, pretend it's all smashing.
Electric Blast works with Kin (bio electricity), and Storm (lightning) so very well. It has a match.
Mind Control has Force Fields (telekinesis), Empathy, and with a little imagination (and maybe color tinting for you), Radiation (My ILL/RAD RP's Radiation as Telepathy...makes the enemy sick, dizzy, feel generally weaker, makes friends feel stronger than they are, makes them ignore wounds...ect...ect...)
Storm Summoning has Ice Control as a matching set.
Force Field matches up with Mind/Grav/Illusion very well.
Radiation can match up with Fire/Grav/as mention I matched it up with ILL...
Poison seems to match Necromancy rather well imo. The zombie's puke, and hey, now so do you!
Pain can go with alot of them well if you just try (you're just looking at the name now, and thinking..."Pain Domination must equal BDSM" while it could...it doesn't have to)
Ok, hugs could likely use a better match, Devices do seem a bit higher tech, but I don't know if it's a new set that will help. Especially sinse it would just be devices with new graphics.
Maybe ask for a Leadership style Buff/Debuff type of set?
Electricity already works with Earth Control (as they showed when they ported it), however that said I am not against an Electricity Control set, and figure it will come sooner or later.
Why would you have to match broadsword with anything? Hey look! I have a big huge sword! Really, it'll match with WP, Ninjitsu, or SR just fine, if you don't want to use Dark/Fire/Elec Armors.
Now I should note, you ask for all this...but you forgot Trick Archery. Which has no match up for Trollers.
And this is the one set that never made sense to me, to give Trollers.
/TA Troller *twang* Look at me! I slowed down the enemy so they can still shoot at us!
ARCHERY Blaster *twang* Look at me! I pinned them all to the wall, so they can't shoot at us! Seriously dude, break down and buy some normal arrows, you cheap-skate.
/TA Hey, these arrows are expensive! *shoots harmless arrow at Blaster*
/Archery Mine are cheap *shoots arrow into Trollers head* and effective.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've thematically matched up Trick Arrow with Plant Control (using a bendy stick to shoot wood, and grow your own) and Illusion Control (tricks and illusions - it's a super magic act!) for Controllers.
"Wind Blast" is arguably Sonic Attack, since it gusts up the environment now. -

Which comic character can I see most easily swiping at a Rikti drone and missing as it zips around him? The Thing! An SS/Inv Tanker.
[/ QUOTE ]
Cmon... if we are porting famous characters into the game then the Thing has to be a stone tank! Invuln is Supes or the Hulk maybe.
[/ QUOTE ]
The Thing doesn't really have stone skin, or skin that can turn to crystal or hardened magma. He can't turn the ground into hot mud. He has toughened, plate-like skin that makes him invulnerable. He's Inv/SS all right - his "costume" just uses the stone texture pattern. -
Maelstrom's bio

Hamidon
Hamidon raids are present in Praetoria, but no one is sure exactly what kinds of rewards he receives for completing them. Seeing Hamidon with a cape is almost worth watching him do a raid, though.
