  1. As a side note, does anyone know if there is a city of villains background (version) to the new forums, like the red version of the old blue hero forums? I always liked using that version of the old forums.
  2. Thanks for clarifying that Lazarus.

Hopefully this will be looked at in a future patch to be fixed
  3. Yeah, I have no idea what dictates whether or not it says the current day and time or a different one.

Currently it is showing the status for "Updated: 2009-07-27 13:55:02 UTC", but now and again it will flip back to the status for "2009-07-24". Very confusing.

This seems to be something recent also, as I don't recall seeing a problem with the status update page in past months *shrug*.

After months of tweaking and tuning -- I'm glad I don't do this for a living -- I finally feel comfortable presenting my completed 21-minute-long score for this arc. I should use the term "score" loosely, I guess. But still, here it is!

    <ul type="square">[*]1. Overture (5:21)
Paragon City / The Copper Legion / The Hero / March of the Legion / Counter-strike[*]2. Introductions (0:34)- Opening
Meet Dr. David Diaz -- teacher, adventurer, superhero....[*]3. The Looking Glass (2:13)- Mission 1 general theme
Dr. Diaz's assistant, Heather Glass, has gone missing. Naturally, it's up to the Hero to find and rescue her....[*]4. Praenuntius’ Legacy (1:57)- Mission 1 clue: “A Cimeroran Legend”
After her rescue, Heather tells the Hero a story about a minor Cimeroran emperor who was afraid of losing his throne. In a desperate act, he made a deal with the smith god Vulcan to obtain an army of invincible copper soldiers. But the emperor died before the army was complete, and the Copper Legion was lost....[*]5. The Circle Library (3:19)- Mission 2 general theme
By request of Dr. Diaz, the Hero investigates a lead on the last-suspected location of the Copper Legion....[*]6. Swords at Midnight (1:13)- Mission 3 general theme

"Moment of Truth" is my personal favorite, but that's just me.

Very impressive theHedoren! Listening to the scores now. That's some great music you've created. Keep up the great work, perhaps someone at NCSoft will hire you to write songs for future video game titles
  5. Hey guys,

I created an arc (#227722) a few weeks ago, and within the arc, I have many npc allies that are to be rescued. I set the captives to defensive status and set them to do 'nothing' when rescued. My goal was to make them buff you (emp/pain dom/therm/kin) and not to follow you, and thereby steal xp from you.
It worked great, up until one of the recent patches. Now, whenever the captives are rescused, they automatically follow you, without you even approaching them. I have double checked the settings for all the captives, and they are still all set to do 'nothing' when rescued, but they are still following.
Also, they no longer buff you as soon as they are rescued either, which they used to do.
The only time they will buff you now, is after they are attacked by the enemy npc's. Then they will fight back, and buff you on occasion, because of their 'defensive' attack setting.

Does anyone know how I can get these allies to buff and not follow again, or is it something that is permanently broken now with the AE editor?

    Thanks for your help

  6. hey guys,

I know this has been discussed before, but how do you get the Server Status Page to show the current day and time?
ATM it's telling me the status for "Updated: 2009-06-24 13:05:02 UTC", which is great and all, but I'm really looking for today's status so I know when the servers come back up after the bi-weekly maintenance.

    thx for your help

  7. MA changed the toilet paper to over the top instead of out the bottom.
It also made me hunt skulz

  8. Any chance of getting an energy melee/willpower brute guide? Or at least some sample builds to use as reference?
    thx
  9. hey guys,

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this. I usually play natural origin characters, and I've noticed that a few natural origin dual origin enhancements are missing from the AE vendor.
Its ones like damage resistance, hold, end mod, and a couple others, I think.
Do you guys think this was intended to be this way from the devs, or just an oversight? idk
It's nice they make enhancements available with tickets, but it'd be nice if they were all available.
Once you get to lvl 22, then all the single origin enhancements are available. I just thought it was wierd that a few DO enhancements are not available.

Have you guys seen any other origin types - magic, science, etc that are missing some DO enh?
Just wondering your thoughts on the subject.
  10. Any chance on getting an Illusion/Trick Arrow Guide or sample builds at least?
They've been mentioned before but I haven't found anything.

    Thanks in advance
  11. Hey guys,

I'm having trouble figuring out how to have bubblers in my missions continue to bubble at any diff lvl.

By bubblers I mean a sonic and force field bubbler/buffer that helps with the amount of defense or damage resistance.

When I solo on my mission (set to auto-lk to lvl 50 atm), the bubblers work great. But when I am on a team doing my mission, and am on diff lvl 3 or up, then the bubblers are a different level than I am, and they won't buff me.

So, my question is, how do I get my bubblers to buff me and my team at any diff lvl?

Is it determined by the npc that I add to the mission? Currently it is just a lvl 50-50 one that I have in there. If I put in a lvl 50-54 one, could that help?

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks for the help in advance.

  12. hey guys,

The one guide that was written has been deleted, I believe. Does anyone have some sample builds or suggestions for this power set?
I'm looking to make this my next lvl 50 toon. I'll play around with mid's hero builder, and I've read the Mental Guide - that one was very good.
I'm looking for enhancement help, sample builds, etc.

k - here's what I came up with. Any thoughts, suggestions would be great

    [ QUOTE ]
Been with my lady for over 15 years. She does come first.

But, as I have said to MANY of my gaming buddies, why on earth would you want to be with someone that actively disapproves of something you enjoy doing?

Seriously. If the person you are with dislikes one of your favorite hobbies, it really is time to find another mate, because that one is NOT accepting you for who you are, only what they think they can visualize you as in their mind's eye, or what they think they can mold you into given the chance.

None of the gaming buddies I have that have been foolish enough to end up with a game-hater are happy. Not one.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Bravo!

I am now divorced, but your explanation of gaming and relationships sure makes sense.

    Very well put
  14. Holy Cow!

This is what caught my eye from this page: :
"In addition to this new game altering dynamic, new neutral starting zones allow new players to select their Archetype (class) first, and then let their actions determine their hero, villain or rogue identities. At the high levels, rewards for these moral choices will be found in new PVP, PVE and Co-op zones. Accomplishments will lead to rewards that will significantly distinguish level 50 characters from one another. One such reward is the Universal Enhancement Slots. Ten Universal Enhancement Slots are available to be earned in the expansion, and each one has the potential of adding significant power to the character, essentially bringing them to a hypothetical "Level 60" once they have earned all ten slots."

So, in essence, they are raising the lvl cap to 60 now? I thought everyone was in agreement that that wasn't a good idea? Hmmmm.
I think some more clarification is required....

This is incredible news all around tho. I'll be glad to wipe the floor with my MM doing hero missions now.

    ftw!

  15. I'll join also.

    My arcs are 1156, 6066 and 6220.

6066 and 6220 have eb/avs in them, so I'd recommend taking non-squishy toons and playing them at diff lvl 1 (heroic/villainous).

    Thanks for your support!

Leave me a comment, and include your arc #'s in it, so I can add yours to my list - thx
  16. Imho, I've always disliked not having unlimited respecs, without having to do a long trial/sf/tf.
In the first MMO I tried, which was Auto Assault, the only thing you needed to respec your toon was a few in-game inf/currency.
Now, since I have very few hours to play per day/week, my chance to do a respec trial has diminished to almost nil. Now my only hope of getting new respecs for my toons is a drop of a respec recipe, or purchasing one on the BM/WW. I know about vet respecs and getting a new one every time a new issue/patch comes out, but I've always liked being able to respec every other day if I so desire or just want to try something new with my toon, or different enhancements/IO's or whatever. I do like the idea of respecing on the test server. I suppose that that is the only way to have unlimited respecs in this game for the moment. But that means a constant cycle of transferring toons/respecing/testing/deleting, then repeat. Oh well - c'est la vie.
I probably won't ever buy a respec with RL currency, only because I can't afford it, but I do like that ppl can have an additional option to get a respec.
I've never thought that there was anything wrong with unlimited respecs. Anyone who has access to this game and the forums can get advice and help on their builds, and perfecting their builds for PVE/PVP/farming, or however they want to spend their time with this wonderful game

    That's my 2 inf anyways

One question - I just tested my Crab VEATs 'mace blast' power, and the mace being used is still invisible. Was only the Bane version fixed in regards to this: "Arachnos Soldier / Bane Spider - Fixed Bane spider characters getting an invisible default mace when using a powers respec. " Or were both the bane and crab versions of the mace fixed so they would be visible? just wondering - I did send in a petition to inform the devs also.

Other than that, great work on the patch!

Thx - but I tried that and a couple of different weapon options at the tailor, but the mace from my ppp set 'mace blast' is still invisible.

    Here's the answer from BAB:

    From: BackAlleyBrawler

"So we just discovered that Castle didn't add the custom weapon tags to the VEAT Mace Mastery Patron powers, so none of those have visible weapons."

So, they are aware of the problem, and I'm sure it will get looked at in future patches. Not a huge problem, just something I wanted to make the devs aware of.

    Thanks for your help guys.

I would assume that he's talking about the powers in the Mace Mastery Patron Pool, given if you choose Black Scorpion as your Patron.
