  1. My idea would be something like:

    I13: Ragnarok
The promised Coming Storm is here, and the fate of not merely civilisation but the Earth - all the Earths - hangs in the balance. Hero, villain, humans and aliens must band together to fight a new, seemingly unstoppable threat...

    - Shivan invasions... and worse things.

    - Unified world: players can roll any class of toon and start either in Paragon or the Rogue Isles, but can travel freely between the two.

    - How people react to you is based on a "Light Side/Dark Side" meter, and uses the new branching dialogue system. Do good deeds, you get access to more Hero contacts. Do bad things, you lose access to them but gain more Villainous contacts (and the PPD start shooting at you). Also your adoring public react with shock and confusion at your switch to evil/good. Some arcs should require both to complete.

    - Rikti toons

What, you mean like the Nvidia 8800 cards and their constant crashing?

    [/ QUOTE ]

I shall ignore your mere facts and substitute my unwarranted prejudice, and stick to saying that NVidia still rules

...and at least it's only one suite of cards in the range that self destructs...

I like the case but I'm afraid it pales in comparison to the one being offered on the American Boards . I'm sure our beloved DTWT artists can pull off something just as amazing.

    Romulus!

Incidentally, "Keyser Soze" in Hungarian actually means "Lord Nemesis".

    Romulus!

    [ QUOTE ]
The Qoute "Everthing is a Nemesis plot." is also a Nemesis plot to make you think everthing is a Nemesis plot.

    Which ofcourse, everthing is.

    Or is it?

This post is a Nemesis plot, please move along.

    [/ QUOTE ]

But would Nemesis TELL you it was a Nemesis plot post or just let you think that?

    Or would he...

damn, this is too confusing for this time of night. I'd best get back to my TPS reportzzs. *bzzt* *click*

    Romulus!

Not as far as he's been written in...

    [ QUOTE ]
Once the right hand man to Imperious, Romulus turned traitor and overthrew Imperious. Now, Romulus sides with the Nictus and other more questionable forces to secure his tyrannical rule over Cimerora.

    [/ QUOTE ]

The Romulus who founded Rome was the son of the king of Alba Longa, escaped death, was raised by wolves and a kindly shepherd, killed his twin brother Remus, and abducted hundreds of women from the nearby Sabinii tribe.

...so probably not a nice chap. He was not, as far as historians have noted, able to hurl bolts of dark matter, drain the essence of both foes and friends to sustain himself, or prone to hanging out with minotaurs.

Though it could all be a Nemesis plot.

    Actors ATs.

I'm Christian Bale and I'm an MA/SR/Presence Scrapper.

I'm Christopher Lee and I'm a Gravity/Fire Dominator. Oh, and I can sing too.

I'm Christopher Walken. I just use the Presence pool.
  11. I don't think it's so much to do with that any more. Yesterday I played for nearly seven hours straight with two crashes. I've now had eight crashes in the last half hour?

EDIT: Weird thing. All 8 crashes were trying to log into Defiant toons. been happily playing a Union toon for more than an hour on same config with no issues.

    [ QUOTE ]

Now what we really need is a hero, or even a co-orp arc where we lovingly get to beat the snot out of him! Heck, if it had that at the end rather than a rare recipe, it could be a 20 hour Shadow Shard Marathon and people would still be clamouring to do it!

    [/ QUOTE ]

*thinks* Westin, despite being thoroughly, thoroughly evil, is also (a) smart enough to get everyone to do the work for him or (b) a coward, depending on your POV. Getting him to break cover, even to other villains, would be tricky.

One of the things that hasn't been mentioned about him yet is that he's not exactly a good guy to pal up with long term either - the ultimate fate of his Fortunata ally and spy should be a lesson to anyone who wants to work with him...

  18. Two crashes this morning, and I haven't touched my drivers at all

EDIT: Make that four in three hours. However, turning my sound off seems to have stabilised things for the moment.
  19. Anim fails to play on Night Widow "Slash" power since July 9 patch. That is all.

    How I missed that?!

    Thank you!

    [/ QUOTE ]

...also, have a look at Detective Junkers outside the PCPD in Founders and read his bio...

    My questions:

    - What happened with the Nemesis horse mounts seen in the Pocket D dance party grabs last year - and are there plans for letting players mount up on vehicles (with fins)?

    - Just how many bad hero movies do they have on DVD in the office?

    - Why aren't all the Rikti called John?

    - When will there be more Princess Bride references in game - particularly random ROUS attacks in sewer missions?

    - Why do they only do In'n'Out in CA?
  21. My suggestion:
    Familiar
You can summon a faithful combat pet to follow you about. You may choose one Primary and one Secondary power from any available set, providing that power does not exceed Level 6.

You may also choose one Travel Power and one other Pool Power for your pet.

Custom Pets attack at one level below yours, may not exceed two feet in height to distinguish them from players, and must be kept on a leash in non-hazard areas.

They'd have a mini-Costume Creator to play with - the only restriction being you couldn't make them look too human.

    I love CoX!

    Welcome, wilkommen, bienvenue, c'mon in.

I've been lurking around Paragon making trouble since April '05, and it's been way too much fun to quit ever since. I did wander away to play a bit of EVE for a while, but Paragon's still home to me.
  23. [ QUOTE ]
I'd imagine you'd access them through Ouroboros - and that they'd load in just like a standard mission would. Also, the creation of them would be handled just like creating a base. Nothing outside of the game itself - at least, as long as they're keeping it simple.

    *shrugs*

    [/ QUOTE ]

Nice idea, Aardy. Having the Challenge Settings on it would be cool too.

...I'm not sure about having that creepy Mender Silos around, though, he brasses me off something rotten. How about Dr. Brainstorm's Mighty Possibilty Engine?
  24. [ QUOTE ]
Well, CoH is a superhero game. "Derivative junk" is pretty much integral to the genre.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Thing is, anyone can pick up a pencil / paintbrush / Photoshop and draw a comic book, or pick up a quill / typewriter / WP programme* and write a book.

Whether they're good at it or not's irrelevant, they'll like it.

Thing is, when you give the whole world the tools, everyone'll pick 'em up. And just occasionally there'll be a Jane Austen, Dave Gibbons or JK Rowling amongst the vast reams of Dan Browns.

So there's the potential for some really good arcs that could really improve the game in there, given time, love and attention. Whether that potential is realised is another matter, but best to be glass half full about these things

*exception: no good ever came of MS Word, [i]except Aardy's potential book, which I volunteer to perform a purification ritual involving joss sticks and whalesong CDs over and port to Publisher if need be before it goes out. *hug*
  25. I doubt they'll count for XP or inf either, or at a nerfed rate. Mind you, by that theory, they won't count for debt either.

If the devs are feeling *really* nice, mind, then they may "adopt" some of the best player-created missions and arcs in new patches.
