Quote:Lol, yeah I just mixed up Apex and Tin Mage when responding to your post, my bad, I haven't slept. My point was that "Master of APEX" itself (the way it is awarded right now) is too easy. You can get it by accident without even trying for it.
On multiple runs many players were like "What?! Master of APEX? But I have died few times on last mission, how is it possible?"
These things shouldn't be called "Master of" IMO.
You're completely right about Master of Apex though. -
Quote:I am well aware of your run, I'm not sure what your point of posting it was though. Also notice how I said "Nukes, while not necessary to get the badge by some players are still pretty much needed by the average player to earn this badge."Like that? http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=247401
My friends and I think that new type of "Master of" badges cheapens "Master of" STF and RSF. We would rather have new badges renamed to "Specialist of" or something like that.
I am sure my group of regulars could do the same as you with little difficulty, the point of my post was for the average player, not myself. The badge isn't reasonable for them imho. -
Quote:This. It almost doesn't even fit in, as in the difficulty of the badge doesn't feel right for the TF.I'll agree on Midnight Dodger being the hardest part of Tin Mage so far.
Both Tin Mage and Apex as TFs are NOT hard, but theyre not mind-numbingly boring either. I've run Tin Mage and Apex about 10 times each on live give or take. Every single Apex run has been a master run, getting master on every single run without even trying is... unsatisfying. On the other hand is Tin Mage where I have gotten master twice out of about 10 runs (the other times we weren't actually trying for the badge though because it's a pain to get). The first time using the aoe immobilize strategy with my troller(which doesnt work anymore) the other time being a nuke run. Nukes, while not necessary to get the badge by some players are still pretty much needed by the average player to earn this badge. The badge shouldn't be set at a difficulty where average players are forced into using temps to earn something.
Basically the problems I see are:
Master of Apex is FAR too easy to get. It needs another challenge that can't be earned easily on every run.
Master of Tin Mage is too hard to get because of Midnight Dodger.
Nukes/Temp pets shouldnt be needed to earn badges by the average player.
Melee are near useless in the director 11 fight if the team is going for the badge without the use of nukes/temp pets.
The actual TFs themselves are perfect (outside of some possible reward tweaking). The issue is when it comes to masters. Apex needs to have more of a challenge to get masters and Tin Mage needs to lower the difficulty on achieving midnight dodger without the use of lame strategies. -
With a team make up like that did you at least get masters?
>_> -
Completed it about 10 times so far, usually in 21-25 minutes.
OP is funny. -
Quote:Just to expand on this, its alot harder to get really good numbers on a fire/fire compared to using /SD.4) You already answered your own question, "Im okay with using inspirations unlike most here on the scrapper forums". Without inspirations, the combination would generally get owned hard, though it could probably be tuned for a class of AVs, like maybe smashing/lethal ones. Also, Fire/Shield probably has similar damage output, and is easier to make survivable without inspirations. But WITH inspirations, Fire/Fire should be quite good. It's just a matter of finishing the AV before the inspirations run out, which I don't expect to be a problem most of the time with that much damage output.
You also have to use confront to keep Avs from running since fire aura doesnt get a taunt aura.
Any AV that isnt fire/smashing/lethal based will hurt alot. Energy and Ice based Avs, depending on which ones, arent too bad because most Energy and Ice attacks have a smashing or lethal component that you can hope to dodge. Psy is a no go.
Fire/Fire benefits alot from inspirations, you will get more out of reds than most other builds because of fiery embrace, and purples are nice to make fiery aura up to par on bulkyness. -
I'd like to see a personal DPS meter. For my own goals I think it would be great. Seeing others' dps though, not so much.

I have it slotted in my Corr's OG. I really only put it in there cause it was cheaper than other alternatives. I don't notice it, but it doesn't really bother me either.

Yes, I would consider having deleted over 60 lvl 50s to be a personal problem :P -

Nightwidows have great ST damage, mediocre AoE damage, easily perma-able Mind Link, and other team buffs.
Fortunatas have decent ST damage, decent AoE damage, decent control, and other team buffs, takes more effort to perma mind link. -
It really isnt hard to do.
I didn't excessively resummon, I died only once, and that was cause 6 other team mates were dead being it was their first time, I did not feel like I was contributing less than anyone else, and yes we got masters.
This is what I did on my Ninja/Dark MM:
1) Send pets into attack
2) Blue light appears under battle maiden and myself
3) Set Pets to follow
4) Move away from current position
5) use debuffs and any ranged attacks while waiting until blue patch under battle maiden clears
6) send pets back into attack
repeat this until she dies.
As for 'resummoning' it isn't a strategy it is playing your AT. lol. -

I have Super Speed and Hasten on 100% of my toons. I LOATHE the look of super speed and hasten on 100% of my toons. Why do good things have to look so bad? And for that matter why do things that look so good have to be so bad in this game? (Yes, I am looking at you dual blades, dual pistols, etc etc)
With Fitness gone it really feels like there are just too few options in power pools. Infact I think just about all my toons have the exact same Pools on them now (speed, leaping, fighting, and leadership every single time).
Customization and more options (that can fit in and compete with current ones) really should be alot higher than I am guessing it is on the priority list. -
Quote:There is no primary other than fire!Hi all, I've just finished lvling my brute and looking for my next project, and corr appeals to me, I'm def wanna go /dark but dnt know which primary? I dnt want fire as I have many fire blasters etc, so any thing else as long as it's good damage
(Sonic/Dark and Rad/Dark arent bad though) -
At a 7 second downtime, that 3 second animation /will/ hurt your dps considerably. You really want to avoid using those clickies as much as possible (this is why lolregin).
7 second downtime = every 22 seconds, 3 second animation, 25 second elapsed time between cycles. 12% of your time will be spent casting shadowmeld. (if my terrible math skills are right)
