  1. Electric/Ice Melee will also provide great mitigation . Not to mention nice aoe dmg. My lvl 50 is my default incarnate tank, and it is IOed to get as much extra defense as possible, though I do not have the number on me atm.
  2. For a first troller, and SO only troller would be

    1. Earth Troller: Great visible hard controls, some to-hit and defense debuffs mixed in. (Though not the most damaging of trollers) A nice pet tank to help keep aggro of you.

    2. Plant Troller: A variety of controls including a Confuse power. More damage than the earth troller. A slightly weaker pet in the Fly Trap.

    For Secondary:

I would like to make a plug for Trick Arrow: It is dirt cheap for end purposes. Has good -res, -def, capabilities. It has a 2 extra holds. And a superb AOE damage power (Oil Slick). Make sure to start off with either Magic or Tech origin as the Origin Specific Power will be able to light the oil slick.

**** It always takes longer to lvl up a troller a little patience is necessary****

    My Trollers at 50
Ill/Storm (My first and main toon, you can try it but i wouldnt recommend it)

    Plant/TA
    Mind/Poison

    My Doms at 50
    Mind/Fire
    Grav/Energy

Many more in the lower lvl categories
  3. I would like to second /IM as a choice as I have a DP/IM/EM. I use toxic ammo as it has a -dmg component and synergizes well with Chilling Embrace. I have a high recharge rate so when Power Surge is up i am blapping when it is down I blast at a distance.
  4. Hey LSK, I have seen you on Defiant a couple of times.

To answer your question, I usually wait until level 50 to io and accolade my toons. One execption was during Rikti Raid week when i accoladed my Ice/Mace tank, who is at 28 now, with Watchman.

Also to be honest I gave in to tempatation on Freedom and did some AE +4/x8 farms. Maybe thats taboo here on the forums but oh well. Had to try it out, that stuff dosen't exist on Defiant.
  5. Yes I have now reached lvl 50 and all slots are in place. Obtained Alpha slot, but no time to slot it. First priortity now is to slot Alpha and maybe accolades later.

I decided to substitute one of the Invention Def. IOs in CJ for a Karma
    Knockback

    now I have 45,84 Def s/l/e/n

    2122 Health
    3.33 recovery
    1.07 end
    recharge 42,5
    etc,etc

[QUOTE=Finduilas;3752386]If you try to run all those powers with just four Eradication, your end bar is going to die a quick and painful death. IME, DS and DR should have at least 60% end reduction, and FA at least 40%.

DR is not an issue because I rarely have to click it. As I mentioned atm DS is only being run with CP running.

Proper slotting would help as much, or more.

I designed the build around the Alpha slot. Even without the Alpha, end is quite managable, but it requires a little more attention than an average build.

It's hard to make specific recommendations without seeing the build in Mid's, but again, with better slotting it should be possible to have your attacks fully slotted for damage and maintain the defense bonuses you want. The Kinetic Combat sets, for instance, all need another slot to have sufficient accuracy and damage. (Except Boxing if it's being used as a set mule.)

Sorry I didnt want to give the impression that I was looking for advice, I just wanted to add my 2 cents to the potential for these powersets.

    Searchlight 50 Rad/Sonic Defender
    Fear Liath 50 DA/IM

+40 lowbees on 4 different servers
  6. With my DA/IM tank at 47 I have finally IOed it up slightly over the defense soft cap for s/l/e/n. I have never used Mids so I will handwrite by build

Toggle Resistances x 4 (Tough included): 4 slotted with Reactive armor for a total of 5% to s/l/e/n. Murky Cloud has a 5th slot with Steadfast Protection Res/Def IO +3% to all Def.

Death Shroud/Dark Regen/Soul Transfer/Frozen Aura: 4 slotted with Eradication PbAOE: total 12,52 to e/n def.

Freezing Touch: 4 slotted with Basilisks Gaze and 2 slotted with Invention Damage IOs, for a total of 2,5% def to e/n

Boxing/Greater Fire Sword/Frozen Fists: 4 slotted with Kinetic Combat IOs for a total of 11,25% def to s/l

Cloak of Fear: 5 slotted with Siphon Insight for a total of 3,75% def to s/l. + 7,8% to hit debuff which is nice

Cloak of Darkness/Weave/Maneuvers: 4 slotted with LoG 1 of them global recharge

Combat Jumping: Frakenslotted (5 slotted) 2 Invention Def. IOs, 1 LoG global recharge, 1 Kismet Accuracy (To-Hit) special IO, 1 Blessing of the Zephyr +4 Knockback res.

Build Up: not slotted yet but will be with 5 Adjusted Targeting

Health: 2 Slotted with Miracle +Recovery, and Numinas +Regen/Rec

Super Speed: Dont have yet but will be 1 slotted with Blessing of the Zephyr +4 knockback res.

    Taunt(1)/Ice Patch(1)/Hasten(2)/Stamina (3)/Conserve Power (2)/Physical Perfection (3): Invention IOs

Total: 46,25% (more or less) def to s/l/e/n

    recharge global bonus of 42,5% (LoG x 4, Basilik's Gaze x1, adjusted targeting x1)

nice +health bonuses (though cant remember)

nice + end bonuses (think i am at 107)

    Recovery at 3.33 atm

Of course I wll be getting the Cardiac Alpha so I can run Death Shroud without Conserve Power.

Biggest drawback for this build is damge, sitting between 85-93% damage.
    • Server you were playing on: Defiant
    • Size of League/Team: 75% to 100% strength
    • Trial you were participating: Both (Though lambda seemed a bit more buggy)
    • Time of Day/Date/Timezone: between April 6th, 15:00 - 23:59 GMT
    • Did you join as a preformed group or did you utilize the Team Up Teleporter: Preformed group
The entire group was kicked on an average 30% of the time on the trials a little more on lambda a little less on BAF.

It does seem to happen when a group is formed and someone didn't enter the trial in time.

I also Dc'ed many times and once I got an error message about a corrupt .pigg file.
  7. Yup, was on that TF and ProtectorX really lived up to his name

I felt a little bad myself in that i couldn't keep the tank alive when facing LR as i was the Kin/Ice Def

    Funniest quote of the tf:
When the willpower/ss tank was asked why he didn't have taunt he promptly replied "My other tank has taunt"; lol

    Best Debuff Set?

The power set with the highest debuff Potential is Rad. Ease of use is a different question.

Numbers, I will use base numbers. Most of Rad's powers are enhanceable

    Debuff

    -ToHit 61.25% (RI, and Fallout)
    -Def 61.25% (RI and Fallout)
-DMG (all damages) -55% (EF and Fallout)
    -Res 80% (EF and Fallout)
    -Recharge 75% (LR)
    -Movement 75% (-runspeed 425%) (LR)
    -Regen 1500% (LR and EMP)
    -END 55% (EMP)
    __________________________________

Achilles procs can be added to fallout and RI for a potentially extra 40% -Res

    RI, Fallout, EMP are enhanceable

Rad is followed closely by Dark as Dark is superior in the -dmg and -to hit categories (we cannot forget that fluffy is a debuffer as well )

For ease of use Cold is probably best but thats up to the player.

    Grav/Nrg build

    [QUOTE=Blue_Centurion;3368466]
I am thinking of foregoing Crush, and getting teleport self later, but not sure, with stealth pool and fly, TP self is of limited use. Or I could get team teleport, but that is a vet power I have.

    Just to add a comment
As i understand it the teleport team power works differently from assemble the team vet power in that you can teleport all surrounding friendlies to a determined location f.eks you and singy can teleport into a middle of a mob. Assemble the team does what the powers says and is used as a gathering tool.
  10. I would have to agree with the prior posts. Please don't delete. DM will synergize with any added defense as its secondary effect is to-hit debuff in all its melee powers. Touch of Fear is a great power not to be skipped. You will want to strive for 50% in global recharge buff with hasten to make DP perm, or go the accolade route. You can increase your defense with the power pool or go with io sets the best being kinetic combat, and siphon insight for your power sets. The rest of the slots should be used to increase regen somehow and there are many methods.

In the end you will have a beast to recon with.

    Ice and Why?

ooops bit of a typo in my previous post:

in point 1: its relative easy to soft cap defenses S/L, E/N.

Res: Soft Cap Cold DMG at 90%
Fire Damage to around 45%, not too shabby
  12. Dr_Pathos

    Ice and Why?

    Why Ice?

    1. Fairly easy to soft cap the type defenses with IOs

    2. Since you are a defense based set the possibility to increase you Global Recharge rate is substantial, which i turn makes Perma-Hoarfrost easily obtainable

    3. Fast recharge on Energy Absorbtion means you will never run out of end.

    4. Only tank with an escape power

    5. And most importantly, and the reason why i'm focusing on my Ice tank atm is the proliferation of the patron pool to heroes and specifically Soul Mastery. Here you will have access to darkest night a to hit debuff, - damage aura, and when paired with chilling embrace makes you a very very survivable to say the least.

    6. Psi damage i your weakness and you will need to obtain the accolade Watchman (Elusive Mind) to help counteract that

In my opinion the pairing for the ice tank is dark melee or maybe kinetic melee for their to hit debuff, and - damage secondary effects.

My personal Ice tank is paired with war mace, but i am not in the mood to change him.

Bone Drake lvl 21 IA/WM. Defiant.
  13. My Ill/Storm has perm PA. Here is my quick build

    Primary

Spectral Wounds: I used decimation for 6,25 recharge bonus
Blind: Used Basilik's Gaze for 7,5 recharge bonus
Confuse: Here is a good chance to get a real cheap purple set and have 10% recharge bonus, sorry at work and can't remember the name of the set
    Flash: Once again Basilik's Gaze
Group Invis: Stacks with Steamy Mist, have Luck of The gambler Bonus here 7,5 %
PA: here we need to mix between recharge intensive pets set + Soul Bound allegiance to maximize damage and recharge enhancements: Gives 6,25% recharge bonus
Spectral Terror: good old Glimpse of the Abyss: super cheap giver 6,25 recharge
    Phantasm: Mixture like PA, 6,25

    Secondary:
Gale: Positron Blast, 6,25%. Here you have met the rule of 5's for 6,25 recharge
Snow Strom: cant remember name, not that important. Set only gives
    3,75%
Feezing Rain: Ragnarok: Expensive 10% recharge
    Steamy Mist: LOG Global 7,5%
Hurricane: to hit debuff, i think dark watchers despair, gives 5% recharge
Tornado: here i used Absolute Amazement, fairly cheap purple set for 10% recharge
Lightning Storm: my most expensive set Apocalypse for 10% recharge

    Pools
    Combat Jumping: LOG global 7,5%
    Hover: 7,5 LOG global

    Ancillary:
    Psionic:

Sorry cant remember name of the power, but the one that resists hold, and stuns. BTW it becomes permanent too . LOG Global 7,5%. LOG global hits rule of 5's with this power. Side note LOG global and 7,5 % that you recieve from Basilik's Gaze is not the same so dont worry about rules of 5.

World of Confusion: Armaghedon (sorry for spelling). A total waste, technically you can for get about this power. 10% recharge bonus.

All in All I have 312,5% total recharge on PA. 300% is required for perm.
101% on PA with enhs, and 211% from perm hasten and set bonuses.
  14. Dr_Pathos

    Global Recharge

    100% Recharge on PA
    70% Recharge with Hasten
    140% Global Recharge with Sets

    Total 310% Recharge on PA

Highly Possible with Ill/Rad, will need to do calculations with other sets

Have a build schematic if you want
