Avengers: EMH is awesome they see the $$$$$ everyone spent on the movie and are trying to capitalize on that. We hopefully get the rest of this season of EMH. If not I will never watch another Marvel Cartoon ever again.

Quote:Just caught this Episode and I have to say the stakes just got raised. So the reason why Wally and Artemis quit was more not to tip off M'gann with a stray thought, than them needing to live a normal life.Aang must be dead, because otherwise the next Avatar wouldn't have been born to begin with.
On the YJ revelation - yeah, I actually did call it, but only during this episode itself. It seemed like everything was going wrong with Aqualad's plan, but in a way that Aqualad himself couldn't be blamed for. (Also, I was suspicious about the lack of any sort of wound in Artemis' chest, not even a tear in the outfit) -
Oh by the way for all us fans of RahXephon.
2012 is the year Tokyo gets subsumed into Mu Space to become Tokyo-Jupiter. -
Quote:Really liking this one. Also The 5th episode is interesting because the title of the episode doesn't refer to the title character in this case. Some new spring animes I've been checking out...
Dusk Maiden of Amnesia - I thought this'd be like "Another" (which I loved) but it's far more light-hearted, and far less gory. Still fun, and there's a creepy subtext to it all. Creepy in a good way. It's about a ghost girl who is trapped in a strangely large and labrynth-like school, and the "paranormal investigation" club that springs up around her.

OK just caught both Thundercats and YJ.
Thundercats: as far as the where the next stone is, everyone sing with me....
....Wings of Silver, nerves of Steel!......Silverhawks!
Partly Metal, Partly Real......Silverhawks!
Only reason I say that is in Episode 7 Legacy Leo goes full armored mode, which reminded me of Mon-Star's form. So putting 2 and 2 together.
Young Justice: So keeping Barry alive isn't enough to turn the tide. Bart's presence in the present will be interesting because he can't tell too much and his mission still isn't finished. Hoping they go with Wally becoming the Expert on the Speed Force like he eventually became in the comics. -
Quote:I do see your point. Personally I always thought Doc Ock was a Mad Scientist without the moral constraints that similar types like Reed Richards and Tony Stark follow.Because being driven insane is kind of part of Doc Ock's character (Green Goblin's too, and to a much greater extent) going all the way back to Amazing Spider-Man #4. I actually liked the character until the end of the movie when he suddenly decides he doesn't want to be a monster anymore and ends up saving Spider-Man (after learning his identity for no reason other than to unnecessarily tie the villain to both Spider-Man and Peter Parker, something that the upcoming movie seems to be following yet again with the Lizard).
I mostly avoid commenting on Spider-Man 2 because it has gotten me into long, exhausting, and ultimately pointless arguments in the past since most people inexplicably liked it, and since I haven't seen the movie in 8 years I kind of don't really care that much anymore.
I just liked it due to the fact that Peter and Otto were similar, yet each chose a different path. Unfortunately they kind of copped out on the ending (as you pointed out) that it was the Mechanical arms A.I. that was making him evil. -
Quote:You should see the Freezing stuff Funimation put up on Youtube, It's so whited out it blocks 3/4 of the screen. That use of shadowing was, I felt, appropriate and didn't exactly "feel" like censoring. Unlike say, High School of the Dead where they whited out half the screen (on Hulu despite being age-gated) for some scenes.
As for the bleeping, well, they did let the reference to the Warden's boobs through. I've also noticed that Lost Girl on Syfy gets away with a couple of s-words an episode.
Edit - And holy cow! That t-word is not censored here? -
My all time best moment in the game came from a cs. My team was doing a States TF at the time when one of the group ran ahead to Lord recluse. When the group got to the trigger point our team member was in the cs with lord recluse with the "Look Ma I'm on TV!" macro while he was monologuing. I laughed so hard i nearly fell out of the chair.

Honestly have the movie morons learned anything From Batman Forever and Spider-Man 3 ?
More isn't always better. Look at Spider-Man 2, Which imo, was the best of the 3, due to the fact that it focused on one Villain, and how similar / different Doc Ock and Spider-Man were to each other. -
Japanese Manga covers almost every genre available out there as well. There are a few translation sites that offer quite a few titles for free to read. The respectable sites will list but won't allow you to read anything that's been licensed in your area.

Quote:Same reason why DC doesn't have any married super-heroes anymore lolYou looking into it way to much. Really what it is, is them trying to cash in on the craze of groups saying such things as "Why aren't these group of people making up half the superheroes?" "Why are these characters dressed this way?"
When they should be asking "If we had it that way, would you start buying it?"
Which of course the answer is "No." -
The one that made me a collector, til recently was this one:
Probably the 1st comic I ever bought with my allowance.
And if you've read Marvel recently (up to the end of Thanos Imperative) You can understand why I don't actively collect the "Floppies" anymore.
I still collect Gold Digger from Antarctic Press and I'll keep getting it until Fred Perry stops doing it. The other books I'll wait an extra month and pay less for on comixology. -
Quote:You know I wonder if they are dredging up the old Wolfman / Perez storyline as far as Wally is concerned. (His super speed is starting to kill him) So he had to retire. Only Nightwing and Artemis would know about it, which is why she left with him.DC Nation short...meh. Wasn't paying attention. Moar Super BFFs, Teen Titans, and Animal Man plzkthx.
Wally and Artemis shacking up. Nice to see what happened to her and to find out she isn't a baddie after all.
I do think they need some changes to the artwork though. Wally, Guardian, and Roy could've been clones for all that they looked alike. -
Hmm we already have Batwoman, and since Hal and Sinestro are being replaced with a new GL, it might be him. Other than that the only logical choice would be Supergirl.

Quote:You forgot that Ms. Strong was also part of the greatest trio of Super Powered siblings made of Sugar, Spice and Everything Nice, with a dose of Chemical X thrown in for good measure. (Tara did the voice for Bubbles)Tonight I was reading through Cracked.com and stumbled across something that made me go, "Bwah?". Ok, so this is Cracked and pretty much every article has that, but this one relates to actors.
You know Josh Brolin? The guy playing Young K in MIB3? He was also Johan Hex? Guess who else he played.
Brand in The Goonies. The older brother.
Blew my mind.
Also, not related to Cracked, but Tara Strong. The voice of Twilight Sparkle in MLP: FiM. Guess what else she played.
Raven in Teen Titans, Batgirl in The New Batman Adventures, and Harley Quinn in Batman: Arkham City.
What actors have given you a similar moment? -
I'm pissed because the girl who dumped me for my best friend, died and it was the League's fault. So I'm going to go all super villain because I'm that shallow a person and actually do Villanous things.Yeah OK, I totally buy it. Even so that really disappoints me because A lad was probably the stand out character in Season 1.

Young justice was interesting, I wonder why Superboy said "She gave me no choice" when he broke off their relationship.
-
It's not totally resolved yet, mark my words Tygra will have to use the sword of Plun-Dar to save them all. Reason why this will happen: It puts him on equal footing with Lion-O and will finally resolve their whole relationship issues. My bet is that Bengali will be introduced and he'll basically be Tygra's "Good" side not corrupted by the Sword of Plun-Dar. This will also nicely lead to some relationship hiccups between Lion-O and Pumyra as Cheetara deals with what has happened to Tygra....

Quote:To bad I thought it the weakest episode of the series so far. Just from what they had to compromise to make it work from the original story. Oh and just for the record:Cool to see that the writers of The Avengers are going after some of the largest and most famous storylines. Very pleasently surprised to see The Korvac Sage make its way onto the screen!
Adam Warlock = Starhawk
Star Lord = Vance Astro
Quasar = Aleta
Groot = Charlie 27
Rocket Raccoon = Nikki -
Actually I'd have her take Coulson's place in IM3 Thor and CA2 as a replacement for Coulson. Then have her power up in Avengers 2 and be the lynchpin that helps them defeat Thanos.
-
You all know why it had to be Coulson, right? He's the only one who has been in 3 other movies and for all of us who have seen them all. We had an emotional investment in him. So he had to die for the emotional impact for the audience and for the heroes to put aside their differences and step up (with Fury's help)
-
I'd be all over an updated Terran Empire Movie. Actually raise the stakes by actually have it be an invasion from the Mirror Universe and Have Kirk and Mirror Universe Spock eventually stop the whole thing.

Quote:I would like to read that type of story too, but I totally understand why they did what they did.One of the things that I really loved about the recent JSA and Justice Society series was that they touched on the generational legacy of the "first" superheroes. I can see their point of view in trying to attract new readers by essentially taking the JSA back to being young and rebooting the entire group of characters. I just don't happen to agree with it.
I would be much more intrigued to see them really play out the long term story of the JSA, starting from the 40's. That's 70 years of time now. I would love to see them expand upon the old original Earth-2 elements. Show the children of the JSA, and their children, and their children. Generations of heroes, legacies, sidekicks growing up into heroes, and so on. The possibilities there are endless. Really take hold of it and run with it. Open it up, go crazy, and have fun.
You'd have Kryptonians (Superman and Power Girl) who don't age normally, Amazons (Wonder Woman) to play with, Nth metal and the Hawk legacy, the Helmet of Fate, a Flash (and what would be the ramifications of that being in your gene pool), a Green Lantern ring, Hourman's Miraclo (drug improvement and genetic impact), the Atom's atomic powers (and their genetic impact), the Thunderbolt, Starman's cosmic rod technology, the Bat-mantle and everything that goes along with it. The potential storylines are limitless.
You'd have some of the original heroes still around to appeal to the traditionalist, and you'd have free rein to complete recreate and reimagine the rest. Say Flash has a super-powered kid, who ends up with someone's else's super-powered kid. What would their kids be like? And so on down the line. Its an opportunity to populate a well-known existing world with an entirely new cast of characters while still respecting the legacy of the old.
That's just my take. Making everyone young and starting over just seems too simplistic. I'd like to see them really go for it. Take the names and the legacies and run wild with them. -
I understand how you feel, but this exactly what the Heroes of Earth-2 need to be honest. To me it became a terrible burden to continually link these heroes to WW2. So now they get deaged or what not and it actually hurts the characters rather than helps to bring them forward. Don't get me wrong I love the JSA, but by shedding the history, it helps introduce them in their prime and makes everyone realize why these heroes are special and distinct from their Earth-prime counterparts.
