And remember, children, joining is mandatory.

Then you've got a massive cloud of dust blanketing Paragon City...
I'm not sure which is better. -
I was a bit peeved when I noticed you couldn't have Cyborg legs on Monstrous as well.

Robes are a bit problematic for animation though, what if you chose CoT or Lich robes on an MA/ Scrapper? Imagine the clipping when you use a kicking power...
But yeah, good pack idea. I'd buy it, definately.

As Unions biggest "transhumanist fiend" as Omy likes to put it I must get involved
[/ QUOTE ]
That was me who said that, not Omy :O
But yeah, good luck with the VG. I might join on one of my characters, seeing as I have a few cyborgs... -
Astounding work. Keep it up, and don't keep us waiting!
-
Good proliferation ideas. Not too sure about the MM set though. >_>

Yes...only he used The ice based demons, but fire based attacks

Lies. I only did that for the first minions. -
I'd vouch for Alpha! If vouching were possible in this sorta thing.
Anyway. I was wondering, would it be all right if I made an article for an alien species? Naturally, it's the species of a character's of mine. If y'all reckon it's unnessecary, I could cram any important details about the species into the character's up and coming article. -
This reminds me of a similar Arachnos Mace-based Dom primary/secondary concept I was thinking of a while back. (this was before VEATs were announced, mind)
But forget about me! This is a better idea than I could ever come up with! EATs aside, doms are the only AT without a weapons set. They could certainly do with one. My only qualm is about the T9, simply because I think Spider drones are too Arachnos-esque. Maybe something like the Devices T9 would be better.
Definately liking the proliferated Assault Rifle set as well.

... aaaand why the hell is Sorudo going on about DBZ? -
What? Hordelings are ice-based? U SRS?!
Seriously. I didn't know that. Probably because I can't remember ever actually fighting Hordelings.
Oh well.
@Xemulas: COT demons are the only demons in the game. Also, all MM attacks (Robots and Thugs sets excluded) are cut-pastes from Blaster and Corruptor primaries. I don't see why fire would be any worse. -
This was inspired by a brief conversation with a few people in my VG yesterday about Mastermind sets. Here goes.
-Fire Blast: Sends a Blast of Fire at the targeted foe and sets the target on fire for a short period of time. Moderate damage(fire), fast recharge.
-Hordeling Berserker: Summons forth a murderous Hordeling Berserker from the Inferno. This creature moves quickly and attacks powerfully, but is quite fragile to prolonged attacks. You may only have three Hordelings under your control at any one time.
Hordelings have Scorch and Swipe to start off with. They gain Flares and Char when Empower Demon is used on them, and Fire Blast and Cremate when Infuse Demon is used.
-Fire Breath: You can spew out a torrent of fire that burns all foes within its narrow cone. Moderate damage (Fire), slow recharge.
-Empower Demon: Empower Demon will bestow new powers and abilities to your demonic minions. The powers gained are dependant on the henchman empowered.
-Rain of Fire: Summons a Rain of Fire over a targeted location, burning foes within a large area. Moderate damage (fire), slow recharge.
-Behemoth: You can call upon the might of a Behemoth to fight at your side. Behemoths possesses Super Strength attacks, can use fiery magics and can Super Leap. You can only control two Behemoths at any given time.
Behemoths start off with Punch, Fire Sword and Fire Shield. When Empower Demon is used, they gain Fire Sword Circle and Haymaker. When Infuse Demon is used, they gain Blazing Aura and Fire Blast.
-Bind Soul: You can bind the soul of a powerful demonic entity to one of your already-summoned minions, increasing its ability to take and deal damage and granting it several new abilities. You can only bind a soul to one of your demons at a time.
-Behemoth Overlord: You can summon a Behemoth Overlord and bind him to your will. The Behemoth Overlord is a vicious, powerful fighter, able to use Fiery melee attacks and control powers. You can only summon one Overlord at a time.
Behemoths start off with Cremate, Combustion and Ring of Fire. When Empower Demon is used, they gain Fire Sword and Bonfire. When Infuse Demon is used, they gain Heat Exhaustion, Char and Greater Fire Sword.
-Infuse Demon: You can infuse your demonic minions with the essense of Chaos itself, enhancing their abilities tremendously and granting them new powers simultaneously.
Criticism? Suggestions? Suggestions to change one of the minions around with a Succubus? (NO YOU HORNY DEVILS!) Comment away. -
Character taking part: Boneblade
Level: 37, will presumably rise between now and then. May need an SK, though.
Times available: On a week day, I can be on at 5PM and stay on until about 11PM. On weekends (specifically Saturday) I can be on at just about any time between 2PM and 2AM. -
You might want to take the Stealth power from the Concealment pool at 6. It makes you slightly transparent (a la Shivan goo), so should help.
-
Designing your own AV for a mish (as in, using char creator for the model then selecting powers) would be excellent, but unlikely.

((*Puts his writing cap on*))
The grey, reptillian figure of Iron Alligator stood amidst the panicky streets of Port Recluse, Sharkhead Isle. Men, women and children were rushing around no more than a couple of metres away, trying to escape the noise and the hustle, and the ever-looming shapes of Rikti craft above...
Gator looked behind him. Beings of all shapes and sizes were now congregating in one place, all anticipating the sound which had become all too familiar to the denizens of the Rogue Isles and Paragon City over the past week. It seemed that the villains of the Isles had stopped fighting eachother to combat a greater threat. Whether they were putting aside their differences to defend their home or just thought that Rikti made good punching bags wasn't something that he let puzzle him - though, personally, he was more inclined towards the latter.
Then it came. That ear-splitting, shrieking noise of the teleporters which meant that death had descended upon the streets, that the first warriors had arrived, that hope and happiness was gone until the skies became blue again. This, Gator imagined, was how it was in Paragon. Here, the united cries of delight from the gathered Villains was almost louder. Countless projectiles of both lead and energy came from both sides. Gator threw a devastating haymaker towards one of the aliens, denting its helmet and quite possibly caving in its skull, as might have been evidenced when it dropped like a cinderblock in a lake. He made sure with a vicious stomp from a clawed foot before laying into the next unlucky invader.
He fought long and with ferocity paralleled only by the next savage villain who was tearing apart the invaders (and there were quite a few of them here). He laughed like a scaley hyena as he dismembered his foes with his claws, his strength and their own weapons. Their mentalists were providing a bit of trouble for the crocodillian mutant, but they were quickly dealt with by those they couldn't affect. He'd lost himself in the euphoric carnage, the sheer amount of damage he was dealing towards the aliens registering with his senses like a tasty meal. Rikti were a tasty meal, after all. A few seconds ago he'd bitten through a helmetless Rikti's face. At least, he thought so. Mmm, alien...
After a while which seemed like a wonderfull lifetime of joy to Gator, the numbers were thinning out. Grinning ferociously, his teeth dripping with Rikti blood, he turned towards a small group of Conscripts and raised his voice to a vicious shout.
"GET THE #### OFF MY PLANET!"
With some gentle persuasion, the aliens were happy to oblige; straight to hell, he thought... -
Standard stuff really. Godmoding, improper grammar (though I do occasionally miss a full stop at the end of what I'm typing, slyly
) text and internet speak, TOOLS *brandishes power drill threateningly*, repetitive mispelling beyond a random typo...
People ignoring or being oblivious to what's going on around them and the canon seriously annoy me. I brought up the subject of the Second Rikti War with someone and they were confused IC and OOC. This person, if I recall, had 21+ month veteran rewards and was playing a level 20-something character. If all news of this somehow escaped their minds, I'd understand that (vaguely), but if you simply blank out the events of the world I'll flip. Raaaaaaaaaaawr!
As was touched upon earlier in the thread, I'm annoyed by end of the world plots slightly because, unless you have a really, REALLY good excuse for being able to destroy the world without anyone paying attention and nothing happening to them anyway (E.G. it was all a parallel dimension which you destroyed in the end!) then the tables are always tilted in favor of the heroes. Predetermining a plot is something that I don't think should ever be done, unless the GM kept a lid on it for plot twists and such. Makes it boring, to be honest.
And although it doesn't annoy me as much as it upsets me, people (who are actually smart, respectable people to my knowledge, I think) telling me outright to delete my characters seriously gets me down. Yes, that has actually happened to me recently. Pretty sure it wasn't a joke, either. I was honestly speechless for a moment when I saw somebody who I've done nothing wrong to say it. Regardless, I'm above naming names, so I'll stop whinging and shut up.[/emo]
On another note, I hate pets. Apart my lurvely fat ginger terrier. The rest of them can burn in hell. Burn I say! -
Back! Back, foul creatures! *eaten by undead threads* Curse you, thread necromancy!
Anyway, it's a pretty good idea. It fits with Ghost Widow, naturally, so it's technically the closest thing to an Auxilliary Power Pool that Domis have because it slightly matches the sets... if this became reality, that is.
Which it should. This rocks.

(This article and similar ones would have appeared in several Skyway City newspapers on April 1st)
PUNCHLINE!
In the early hours of this morning a green flash erupted and vaporised a Talos Island apartment block and an adjacent convinience store. Approximately 47 people have been confirmed dead with 2 others missing and 1 survivor, currently in critical condition in hospital.
An anonymous tipoff was sent out to several heroes at approximately 00:52AM, April 1st 2008, calling them all to meet in an alleyway behind the Soy Green apartment block in New Sparta, Talos Island. Once all the heroes were present, what is believed to have been a stolen Rikti UXB bomb was detonated, destroying several buildings. When police arrived at the scene, various Freakshow tags were found scrawled across an opposite Chinese restaurant, along with the words "APRIL FOOLS!" in red on the sidewalk.
As of now the only confirmed survivor is the hero Boneblade of the Hyperion Watchmen, who was recently involved in defending the Terra Volta reactor against invading Sky Raiders alongside the rest of his superteam. He is expected to make a full recovery due to his regenerative abilities.
Police suspect the Freakshow gangster known as 13374G3 masterminded the trap. 13374G3 (reportedly pronounced "Leetage") recently masterminded several robberies in the New Sparta and New Thebes areas.
An anonymous witness described "I was on the corner like every night, minding my own business when I saw these capes go into this alleyway. A few minutes later there was just this massive green flash and then the whole apartment block was gone. Then all these Freakshow types came running out from behind a store and started tagging the walls across the road from the flash."
Police are appealing for anyone with information to come forward. (Full story on page 7)
((And that, kids, is why @Doctor Bolt isn't going to be in-game for a few weeks. *kicks his computer feebly*)) -
I've got some experience playing "dumb" characters, myself (not that that says anything about me IRL... no really! It doesn't! Hoooneeeest!)
Most notably, I've got Iron Alligator, who has been utterly detatched from modern society since his teens. As such he is very much a child in an adult's body (well, more of a mutant super-strong lizard's body). He gets confused quite easilly and has some very childish tendencies such as disregard for consequences, charging headfirst into fights overconfidently and an unhealthy fascination with fire and explosions. He also doesn't know how to interpret certain social situations, bless the poor croc.
The fact I'm also playing Spiderslice in the same VG as Jane is in should be another definate sign that I RP some seriously dumb toons. xD
Anyway, the only way you can really RP as "dumb" is trying to figure out just how intelligent (or equally unintelligent) she is. If you don't want your character seeming immature or anything, then just have her clueless on certain subjects. RP her taking a while to get her head round certain jokes (and as mentioned above, sarcasm), concepts, or generally complicated stuff. That's the best way to describe it. To be frank, you can only really properly understand how to be dumb if you are dumb.
And that's why my description should probably be good enough. -
That's what happens when you roleplay a transvestite elf. Transvestite elves have a deep-set craving to rob lingerie for their own twisted ends.
We, however, roleplay superheroes, so we're gonna run around the town center in spandex punching muggers in the face. 's all good. -
((Pity the function can't be used after six hours have passed since you posted it, then
Anyway, good stuff mate. Keep it coming!
(...oh wait, it was within six hours anyway. YOU DOLT! xD))) -
If I remember correctly, GoodGuy is taking a break from the game as well, for his own reasons.
...bugger -
Sorry to see you go mate. Real loss to the Union RP community, IMO. I'll still fondly remember Gator and Game's explosive exploits... *Sniffles*
Good luck wherever you end up, and hope to see you back IG soon! ^^ -

Since I've decided that my steam-robot-armoured-Tanker-guy won't fit the "unique" feel of the rest of the team, my altitis has rustled me up something that might fit in:
Name: The Drae'Kul
Reason: He is an alien who only just arrived on Earth and doesn't trust baseline humanity just yet. However the Bushido-esque warrior code his race follows compels him to help those in need.
Profile: Still being drafted in MSWord. Will put it up in a few day's time or so
Appearance: A 7'6, bulky reptillian humanoid creature with several small horns or otherwise natural "spikes" on his face, and brownish-bronze scales. He wears black and grey armour. (Enforcer Tucked in pants, boots, gloves, belt, and chest detail over reptillian skin)
Powers: ((Claws/Invuln scrapper)) His gauntlets originally could project energy blasts and blades (I'll RP them being "fixed" when I get Focus, and Talsorian blades) but were damaged. He has since fitted them with a small extendable blade mechanism. He is also naturally hardy and armour and minor forcefield technology only assists that.
Contact: Drae'Kul is currently living in a small cave in the Hollows, scared and alone, fighting off Trolls and occasionally venturing out to salvage what he can of his ship which was scattered over Grendel's Gulch. ((@Doctor Bolt, will be OOCly leveling elsewhere quite a lot))
I only made him last night and he's level 8 now. Hope the concept fits.
[/ QUOTE ]
I've been thinking this over, and I'd prefer that new characters weren't created solely for the team. The tanker guy will definately fit. Just because there's another like him doesn't make him useless, the point of this SG is to RP characters that you'd really like to RP but haven't fitted anywhere else yet.
Frankly I think it'd be awesome if you have a duo of Steam-Powered super heroes. =D
[/ QUOTE ]
Hate to be awkward, but I deleted the tanker guy the other night mostly because I seriously despise tankers and couldn't see myself leveling him at all.
Drae'Kul is a concept I've had in my head for yonks, and the main thing which stopped me from getting him "down onto paper" per se was the mild phobia of human contact I'd pictured him having, which would inhibit my ability to play ICly on him since he'd sooner run away screaming than help a group of heroes raid a Troll-infested building, or be scared of that horribly repetitive music than go and socialise in PD. The Nomads just seemed to provide me with an opportunity to implement him in-game and RP him in a concievable way.
Although, if you insist, I'll remake the tanker. Just don't expect me to level much. xD -
