R.A.P.I.E.R and a new SG

Right, despite my efforts, life conspired against me in various ways, including keyboard-borkage and burnout, and the R.A.P.I.E.R SG kinda went silent. Too silent.

I want to give the SG another boot up the backside again, so I could really do with some help here. I could do with not having to handle just about everything, you know. >.>

I could do with members having their say about what happens concerning the SG, which hadn't happened last time and left me doing very little for a month because I was worried about going ahead with a decision that would force most to pull out.
That's open for discussion anyway, and if in the end I do adopt a more "Like it or get out!" approach to running things it'll be your fault.

Secondly, I got the idea of setting up another SG to act as another division of Molly.EXE's company, Longstaff WarTech. Stiletto would serve as the division handling the corporation's internal affairs which, given this is Longstaff, isn't totally internal. I formed it tonight with Crash Leadfoot and will be getting Mashup in there too, but it's an idea that could work with other peoples' chars in it as well, so why not expand on it?

SO! I kinda plan on getting the following done:

1) Setting up a forum for both SGs and any future ones, which I reckon would help a great deal better then a single thread that constantly falls to page two and leaves about 2 people discussing -everything- on an ingame channel that otherwise never gets touched. Then again there'e the chance nobody will register despite constant harassment to do so, like what happened when I tried to run a Guild Wars guild.
2) Bin the Rapier channel and set up a new one to accomodate both SGs and future ones. Makes sense.
3) Attack Merrow with a cattle prod. (I kid, I kid)
4) Work on getting some new peeps in. (Because there's only like what, 3 peeps bothering at the moment?)

What d'ya reckon so far? >.>

One forum, good idea. You can have sub-sections for each group and then stuff which is free to all ((like RP conflicts and such))

Okay, that answers your questions/intentions and now for my reasons:

One reason I lost interest was that Pious disappeared. I had a couple of stories planned for him to be in and a possible future arc that we could all partake in but him 'dying' kinda screwed the pooch a bit. I'm getting it back on track and trying to merge it with something else (another dilapidated plot).

Other stuff that held me back was my PC AND laptop dying on me almost together. The only subsitute was a program for Mac that occasionally crashed on me. So I couldn't even dual-box my Rapier alt with my 50 firekin.

Issue 12 also brought slots and while my PB was created for the group I got distracted by creating even more alts (firekin on my main account, spines/dark cause I heard good things about them, main toon crossover alts, VEATs) and I found the joys of GG RP more rewarding, meeting with the regulars, getting involved a little more socailly.

So I've got some time off soon and I'll try and get on my PB a little more now my PC is back up and running.

I was having fun with Emily One, but when the SG all went down the character carried on (How do they do that? I'm not coming up with these ideas I tell you!) and is currently fairly unlikely to get along with a Corperation, especially one into making weapons.

Frankly if people don't use the in game channel, then the forums definitely not going to get used!

Really the biggest thing for this is just getting people and setting a time to do it and (As I forgot to do when I tried) what you envision the SG to be like RP style wise, then turning up!

I'd be interested, potentially. I levelled Trace to 50 so I could retire him tbh, so if I got involved it'd likely be with a different character.

R.A.P.I.E.R would remain Military-esque, Stiletto on the other hand would pretty much be more geared toward casual outfits at worst.

I did loose internet connection for about 4 months, during which members of Rapier dropped, I'm not sure how and why that happened. The Priest and Commander Pious, who was from another dimension died in RW2, before I left the game 4 months ago. But I'm back now and to be honest, I'm still just trying to grasp interest in the game again, by making a new Pious, joining a new group. Its not working. Maybe its because I have more important things on my mind, like Damsel and her pregnancy, which is going great by-the-way, baby is almost here. Anyway, I have no more ideas for Rapier, heck I'm considering migrating to the US servers, grass is always greener sorta thing. Its no big secret that I'm bored and looking for a proper, active group, and i13.

I think what Rapier is missing (and someone hit on it in the GGOOC channel) is a purpose, a driving principal that guides them. Currently it's Longstaff owned, security force and before that a US sponsored military outfit which is good but they need an enemy or rival to fight (GGOOC suggestion was a team-mate who wanted Rikti-spanking). So the two groups could be some kind of civil defense program, one of which is to help fight off Rikti but they just happen to be able to take out other threats too (although several threats are Rikti in origin anyway like the Hydra and Lost).

I might see if some of my main's groups have alts they'd like to try out for these groups, since they've got the TF thing going for them

I remember having great fun running about with Emily during the invasion, acting all cold and serious (And it was good set up for her lack of faith in the government to really protect its citizens anymore)

I tried a number of times to restart R.A.P.I.E.R, having been bizarrely given the reins, but after Pious "left" interest seemed to dry up. Like Tyger said it lacked a "Purpose".

I think I'm going to call quits on R.A.P.I.E.R now. I'm not sure how long i will be with the came longer cause' of RL and I'm not known for my patience. I'll see what the next short while brings. Thanks for trying

Had a thought.....how about Stiletto members are archers as opposed to RAPIER's army boy types?

Well, they were already going to be less 'army boy', given that the original intention was to gear it more to investigation etc.

Of course that -could- change, so we'll see.

I'm all for the fighting Rikti focus, I could go for that.

Uh *thinks* RAPIER deals focusses on the Rikti threat more while Stiletto focusses on other threats more or both focussing on the Rikti while dealing with lesser problems in the City?
