In fact, when I logged onto Pocket D on Monday on Defiant on 11am GMT there was only 5 there, myself included!

Maybe your problem right there. -

What kind of person needs to be told to eat their meat?!
Veges yes, but meat is so darn good.... Mmmmm Minted Lamb.
[/ QUOTE ]If you don't eat yer meat, you can't have any pudding! How can you have any pudding if you don't eat yer meat?!

You, yes you behind the bike sheds... Stand still laddie! -
They added the button in I13 I think, it's there and turns the mission red as if you had entered it. Then the mission TP should work fine.

I thought we discussed this already, Minted Lamb must bow down to the awesomeness that is Gammon and Pineapple

Now thats just elitist! -

The TP is superb - I'd prefer it to be an hour, instead of 2 hours, but nonetheless, it's really great if a mission is across zones, or tricky to get to
[/ QUOTE ]
Superb, until it parks you in totally the wrong place
[/ QUOTE ]
You need to make sure you use the select mission button, so the mission is red, not yellow. -
It's especially annoying when you want to use the mission TP to get to the zone. I've quit a team and got them to select the mission before inviting me again so I can get there quickly.

Actually, thats not what I said at all. I said we have a good CORE of people. I meant 3 or 4 which leaves 4 spaces open for others. Also I usually end up in a PUG 2 or 3 times a week, and in fact the team I had over the weekend was one of the most enjoyable teams I have been part of, destroying all before us while hurling good natured banter about. Needless to say I added the 2 leaders to the globals list.

[ QUOTE ]
If you are tired of that kinda players use Global ignore, if you like a player use Global friend to keep them near you. For forums just stay away from dangerous topics and the ones includes the people who you think as elitists.
[/ QUOTE ]
Fortunatly we have used Global Friends for Aurealis's friend and also our SG. We now have a tight core of people who team regularly together which makes the game fun. It's all about finding your niche. -
[ QUOTE ]
I recall it was possible to use recall friend and put people into the cages and they were unable to get out.
[/ QUOTE ]
Hahaha, that would be brilliant! -
/signed, on both counts. I will be instigating this immediatly.

As a matter of fact. Use the Teleport pad from your SG to travel to Port Oakes and voila you end up in front of the correct door. Very handy.

Tip of the day! -
I tend to use it when I first join a team, especially if they are across multiple zones. I have quit a team so they can select the mission before reinviting me just to save 5 mins travelling.

Lastly, I want to bring up another more difficult point about builds. I remember my first toon, and building it pretty chaotically. Some helpful chap politely pointed out "Get Stamina as soon as possible".
And Im very glad he did.
[/ QUOTE ]
I still don't know who told me this, but if I find you I will kiss you. This is one of those little things that people need to be told. And there is a way to do it, especially if someone is saying how their end sucks, then suggest it.
Pick your audience and target. If someone is asking questions you should feel free to dispense advice. -
[ QUOTE ]
Perhaps the few people that do give that elitist attitude that you're talking about make all of the forums seem like that because they're a) so prolific and b) tend to stick out above the humdrum because of that? I think it's human nature that we tend to notice bad stuff more than we notice good stuff.

I remember once we were in a team and someone i invited didn't like the way i was using Hurricane. They were a tank, so they decided to aggro everything on the map, get everyone killed and leave the team. I know it's not a common occurrence but it's exactly that sort of 'i know better than you' attitude that i'm starting to see more of lately.
[/ QUOTE ]
That really was one of my favourite team wipes ever. It really was.
I must have hit it lucky in game, mostly I've had good people giving me advice, and I've tried to pass on what I have learnt to others (even though I am not quite a 6 month vet) However the elitism isn't related only to time in game, because I have had someone with less miles on the clock than me tell me what to respec out on my first trial. Then a few weeks later tell me what powers to take on my new blaster, both times without prompting. -
Yup, just noticed this too. While talking to you funnily enough.

if this is what they are spanking my tax money on, I want it back!
[/ QUOTE ]
Hahahaha! WHAT!? You don't want the government spending tax money on making sure paedophiles don't work with children?
You and Techbot have just taken the mighty leap from "didn't bother thinking this through" to "outright disgusting". I can't wait until I can have a son of my own one day, as an aside I'm hoping he'll be like a kind of Mini Me, and I'd quite happily flat out take away the voting rights of people like you, because you obviously shouldn't be allowed the responsibility.
[/ QUOTE ]
^This. Seriously, there is no real down side to this, and it just helps keep our kids safe. -
Yeah, but if you are using time cards it is possible for you account to lapse for a day or so before you get back to it. Sounds a bit rough to me to penalise them for that. Maybe the account needs to be inactive for a month, and then the XP is awarded to the other character.

No you would be mistaken, i do think that developers are better at developing games than non developers, Its called an opinion.
[/ QUOTE ]
This is most probably true, however has no bearing on how good a story they can write. As Praf rightly pointed out(and I can't believe I'm agreeing with him) users are more able to spend more time on a story and getting it just right because they aren't working to deadlines. This isn't to bag the Devs, who do a pretty good job, but just that there will be members of the community who will do work that will surpass that of the Devs.
Say what you want about using other games as an analogy but fan based content has extended the life of many games, in a wide range of genres. Using NWN is a fair comparison.
The only unknown is whether the MA will allow enough freedom for the community to achieve this. If it does I think you will be quickly proven wrong. -

Ahh, swearing, so many views, so personal. I was talking with a friend about this today as we decided as New Zealanders we swear more than the English do. Or at least find it less offensive.
I'm not sure I can have a conversation with my friends without swearing. It's not gratuitious, it's just some of the best adjectives are swearwords. They are so very versitile.
In game, I tend to reserve swearing for those F*** Me! occasions. If I'm in a team of friends I may swear a little more, but I tend not to swear when typing. -

And, add to the mix (untested, theorycraft)....
- Acquire the Mac Pack.
- Keep the final door mission in Outbreak/Breakout on your mission list.
- Pact up to another character. Have that character leave the tutorial normally and level up to 5 or so.
- On the Tutorial Character, use the Pocket D or SG Base Teleporter to exit Outbreak/Breakout
- Head to Kings Row/Port Oakes and start paper missions to get on the regular contact paths.
You should then be able to level normally (with a single mission slot taken up) and use the Mac Mission Teleporter to return to the Tutorial whenever you need.

Except they fixed that bug with the latest patch apparently. (haven't had a chance to test it, but it was in the patch notes) -
