Also, player base should be anchored to the entrance you choose. thats how you go in and out. no base teleporter (its not a base, its a personal living space! , if you ahve a teleporter built in it, then make it a charged power that has to be maintained and a power that works the same as the base teleporter but single target only).
[/ QUOTE ]
I think a base teleporter is realistic for your residence, although it should only be able to take you to your base. Think of it as the Bat pole. -
Nah, I reckon if it's housing, it in one zone. Say there are 2 or 3 buildings in each zone that are housing buildings. Or maybe any door is an option so you could choose where you live.
Once you decided to purchase an appartment you can go to the zone you want to live in, find a door that currently isn't a mission door for you and click on it. This will give you the option to make that home and put a marker on your map.
Once you have a home you can furnish it and if you later decide to move then you can take your furnishings with you (essentially rechoose a door, maybe for a fee?) so you don't have to rebuild.
Then you can place a portal in your PEAR(tm) to give you access to your SG base and maybe have one at the other end to get from your SG base home.
I really don't like how the base portals are done ingame, I would prefer something more official than a force field in a random spot. -
Thanks for the link Mum, that was a good read and contains some very valid points.

Yeah, it does Autodemote, my the amount in the autodemote setting of the SG I could guess. Our SG founder is AWOL but did have the first SG leader and it's now passed to another player.

Thanks for the post, Saxtus!
Ive just checked it out the official website and noticed a problem with the Union Jack in the 7th picture... See if you can spot it.
[/ QUOTE ]
It's a common mistake really. -
But Marvel would have nothing to sue for. Stretchiness is not their property, only Mr Fantastic is. The power should fall under the remit of the previous ruling the same as claws/regen is. You can do it, just don't make it look like Wolverine.

Are you sure? I thought the vet reward was the sprint powers, which were a different pack according to the Wiki.

Simple solution, stop healing and buffing the idiots having a go at you. They'll soon come to their senses.
[/ QUOTE ]
Of course, the "let idiots die" method of Emping has been my approach since 2005
I just leave the team, and allow them to carry on without me these days, usually after I've watched them walk into a big pile of debt..
I don't think people like that really ever come to their senses, they all live with very tight ideas about how you have to play the game, similarly to the outdated (yet annoyingly returning) logic of "we need a healer!".
[/ QUOTE ]
I had a mid 30's invinc scrapper tell me not to 'waste' my heals on them as they were invicinble and didn't need them. So I stopped healing them. It took one more mission and them dying a couple of times before they apologised. He was good about it though, realised that sometimes the empath needs to heal. -
Havens, if you are wanting to find some good people to PvP with, I can put onto some SG mates who are into PvP for fun. Send me a message here, or in game @DaveNSmith

Be assured that while there are some elitism issue with a few vets, most of them are usualy grand.
Sadly Paragon City (and Rogue Isles) used to be a friendlier place (myself noticed that it's getting rougher out there).
[/ QUOTE ]
I honestly would LOVE to know where every1 keeps meeting these horrible people
All i ever seem to meet are usually fun/random people just having a good time. Was just pvpin casually in RV for roughly 2 hours and well not one bad word was said throughout it all, some people even said sorry!
Sadly with every community there will always be people who think they are "the law" or above everybody else, take them head on i say and win
[/ QUOTE ]
I have the same feeling when reading this. I (almost) never meet these people. I'm sure they exist, along with the iron man/spider-man/wolverine clones but I seem to miss them most of the time.
I agree though that the AE building should be removed from the starting zones though.
[/ QUOTE ]
I have seen a Dr Doom and a Hulk over the weekend, adding to the million or so (ok, maybe a slight exageration) Captain Americas since I13. -
Just make sure you buy the UK version, some people have managed to buy the US one by mistake.

With all the stupid invention badges and now the MA badges etc noone that didn't get on the badge badnwagon from the start years ago has absolutely NO reason to grind badges.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's a slightly odd argument. It like saying that because there are people out there with thousands of stamps, no one new will ever taking up stamp collecting. It doesn't have to be about having more than other people, does it? It can just be about having more than you had last week, or completing a set, or suceeding in a challenge.
I'm collecting Ouroboros flashback badges right now, and planning to make a start on the Invention badges on the same toon with the recipes I pick up running through arcs. So, the answer to why start now is, because it still fun for me to do, even if I'll never have the mostest.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except someone who collects stamps can buy them. Badges aren't tradable (and shouldn't be) -
Yup, from what I understand, as soon as the account expires it's bye bye levelling pact
-
Hold on, why are we arguing over whether it's European or UK English. It's English. And the other is American English. I don't see you wanting to call it European French, or European Spanish.
-
Ok, maybe it can, but sounds like a programming nightmare to me. Having the server suddenly decide to do the work client side. What about in zone, would it be every client? Or just those in the vicinity of the propel animations?
-
Ahh, except that Heyman's first post that you quoted was an ACTUAL occurence. It did happen, and from what others have said has happened a few times. My point is that if you do come across this then you should take the time to help said player out rather than just kicking them. There was nothing hypothetical in the post.

Its a bit like propel where the propeled object difers from client to client
[/ QUOTE ]
... though that wouldn't need to be the case unless there were a lot of propels happening at one time.
[/ QUOTE ]
Except the server can't suddenly decide, whoa, too many propels happening, you deal with it PC. -
The idea is OK, but stopping the XP isn't the way to go. the problem is a low level toon gets the XP assigned to the high level toon. They should really just get the equivilent XP of their level. So instead of 2000xp for that carnie minion the level 5 tank would get 20xp, while the other members of the team get their 2000xp as per normal.

I saw that, looks promising. Didn't mean for you to take it to that extreme, but good idea.Good luck with it, hope it goes well.

X : Hey i'm a level 49 scrapper is there any room in your team
Heyman : Yeah sure
*team invite sent*
X : What zone are you in?
Heyman : Peregrine Island....
X : How do i get there?
Heyman : Through Ouroborus is the quickest way
X : Whats that?
Heyman (now quite angry as it becaome obvious he mostly powerlevled in MA): Okay scrap that, go through steel canyonn and then to talos island and take the ferry.
X: Umm, how to i get to Steel?
Heyman : Have you ever left atlas park??
X: No
*X has been kicked from your team*
[/ QUOTE ]
And this is making the situation better how? This guy, who is most probably on his first toon, will not be encouraged to team outside of the MA if thats how people treat him. You would have been better to have encouraged him and shown him how to get there, explained the benefits of regular missions etc, so that he learns for his next toon and in encouraged to stick around a little. -

I hope you get the option to go rouge too

Maybe it's one of the new faces in Issue 15 -
And here I was thinking this was a suggestion for a secondary power set. :P

Isn't Protean dead?
Looks that way in issue 9 of the CoH comic book (Top Cow run) anyway.

Nah, he just built up a little XP debt. -

Guess there's probably enough placenames with odd pronunciations in the UK - but I don't notice them as much having grown up with them.

Oh, there are. The one that gets me, and most other english speakers not from Britain is Pall Mall...
Now we have call, ball, fall, tall and wall, so why do you say it Pal Mal?
