I could be wrong, but Im pretty sure I read somewhere when this was first announced that if the character has not logged in for 15 days then the auto-demote will happen.

Well its at 41 days now. Auto demotion is set to 45 so I guess I'll see soon. 
I thought the top rank didn't auto-demote.
Thats what I want to find out.
The guy who is currently the leader in the SG rarely plays any more and I'm pretty much the only active player in the SG (some other people are active on other characters) but when the changes with i14 happened I was unable to login for a while by the time I'd got back in game one of his lesser played alts had the leader spot. Aa at the time I was planning on staying out of the game I didn't raise a ruckus.
Now I'm playing and he isn't I'd like control of the SG I founded, built up and earned the vast majority of the prestige for back. If the auto-demotion doesn't work for leader ranks I will appeal to GMs for assistance. I just hoped someone here would know for sure one way or another.
I seem to remember from the patch notes "super leader" doesn't auto demote and that in the event of a SL going away from the game, the CS team should be contacted to deal with it.

But... i know for a fact that SL DOES get auto demoted.
I "lost" leadership of my VG about a month ago, but got it back a few days ago (auto demote was set to 15 days).

Yeah, it does Autodemote, my the amount in the autodemote setting of the SG I could guess. Our SG founder is AWOL but did have the first SG leader and it's now passed to another player.
Leaders no longer auto demote,
Superleaders DO autodemote to leaders after the demotion time setting passes,
The next logged in leader then becomes the new Superleader,
If your SG has no leaders online then no-one gets the Superleader rank AFAIK without contacting support.

Nope.
New top rank of SG leader how long before you get auto-demoted? Is it the same as the old system or do you remain until you quite position?
