I'd rather be Alan Moore, but I'm actually closer to being Kurt Busiek.
Minus the writing talent, of course. -

Primal has a preference:
I thought, "On the one hand that's an interesting idea, but on the other it'd have to hugely impressive for me to even consider replacing good ol' Lara-in-action". -

Primal should forgive us:
Not ONE Dan Brown joke?
My favorite review of "The Da Vinci Code" was my old roommate's, "THIS is what passes for a best-seller these days????" -
I'm in for Arabian, Egyptian or Victorian (not just regular clothes, but stuff that looks like it's out of Gotham By Gaslight, right?). Also Western (cowboy).
Anime? Eh, I wouldn't buy it, but it'd probably sell like crazy. -
And there's always the parallel to the Avengers' Rage, who was a 13 year old kid who, as part of getting his powers, looked like an adult.

This is me having too much to drink:

Well, to be fair, we don't have a huge homeless problem here. I'm sure that has much to do with our weather. People want to leave Michigan winters and head to warmer climes...like Richmond VA.
-
I dunno about in the Lumiverse, but around here most of the homeless end up at the Mission, with places to sleep and even when there's not room, there's always food available. You see them on the street because the Mission doesn't allow them to stay during the day.

GreenFIame gets my generic screed:
Aren't games fun to play, I mean i seen people get tick off getting Neg reping over dumb things. -
Quote:True, I always forget the mod presence is a little lower here than I'm used to. Most of the places I frequent, each board has two or three mods, usually in different time zones or on different schedules so most spam doesn't last more than an hour or two. But those are not "official" places and all the mods are volunteers, so I'm not sure how that might cause problems mentioned earlier in the thread here.
Zikar notes:
It's not like they'll just make a new account or anything. And then their site gets to be advertised on the forum for hours on end each time while we wait for a mod. -
Quote:From orbit. It's the only way.
Forbin_Project pulls out the big guns:
Detonating nuclear warheads in the atmosphere above them and let the EMP shut them down. -
Quote:I'm certainly on board with such an idea. It would help the Ocho enjoy his holiday weekend better.
Zikar goes local:
Maybe restrict trials to trials forums? Have a number of trusted community members mods those forums (and only those forums) to remove spam (and only spam).
Thus, new players can ask questions and get help, but the spam is contained, plus there'll be more mods to deal with it in those sections. -
Quote:The bolded part, along with account banning, is the solution. It just makes it neverwas.
VileTerror self-explains:
After noticing the tags in a recent unsolicited advertisement post for an Inf "trading" website, I realize we probably shouldn't be having the discussion on how to solve the problem in that thread. That post is just going to get mod-deleted (and hopefully soon).
So, let's see if we can't come up with some solutions to this problem. -
Quote:Yeah, you just keep telling yourself she doesn't know.
falloutsurvivor wears blinders:
GG your post scare me.
I hope you never get in a position of power.
You're evil without knowing it. -
Quote:How does "homeless" = "starving"?
NobleFox confuses me:
So are you saying the Rikti magically generated these homeless persons from thin air in order to use previously nonexistent starving homeless persons to infiltrate our society from the bottom up by... uhh I don't even get where your logic is coming from here.
How can homeless people tempted by Rikti into becoming Rikti servants not count as homeless people?
If the Lost aren't "real" homeless people lured into working for the Rikti, then why does the canon plot insist they are? -
Be warned, the pre-pay cards generally charge you for getting it, and charge you for putting money on it. Almost any Credit Union in the U.S. will give you a free debit card if you open a checking account (assuming you are from the U.S. and over 18...elsewhere, I have no idea how it works).

Quote:True, but this is the U.S, which has a great deal of people and a great deal of them are a little strange.
Roderick notes:
Not quite. It's because someone entered "Samantha" in the name field, and checked the box that said "Male". Whether that was correct or not is irrelevant.Chances of it being true at least once during the times we've taken the census is astronomically high.

Quote:That's probably the most accurate explanation of English I've ever seen.
Futurias nails it:
English is flexible. It has to be to mug all those other languages for such interesting words its likes.

Nanotech might as well be "magic" in fiction. Even the most hard of science fiction pushes their uses well beyond theoretical limits. It became a little annoying for a while when nanobots became the panacea/deus ex machina du jour for a ton of fiction for a while.
He says, while having a character that's full of alien nanobots that don't conform to science and might as well be magic, too. -
Quote:Heh, 1972 is hardly "these days".
GreenFIame waves his cane:

I'm the same age as BAB! Huh. -
Quote:Agreed, you just have to keep her reins tight.
Tyrrano has the method:
I usually manage to do this mission as written. Kill her spawn, back up a bit to get away from the next group. Destroy some ambushes as they come in. Then move on. I always pull the next spawn to me - Jane never seems to run off ahead when I do it that way. -
One would hope.
I do remember suffering under "Decorum." for a couple of years until they made name changing possible (and coincidentally the "real" name had become available on Victory again). But several of my characters are hyphenated, a couple of them for no more reason than I thought it looked better that way. -
Before Transfer was available, it took me filling up all 12 (at the time) slots on Victory and wanting more toons (although I did remake even one of those later). Now, with all these slots and Transfer, I never delete any.
I have deleted a couple below level 5 for the sole reason that I misspelled their name, but I immediately remade them with the correct one.
EDIT: Oops, misread the "not" in the OP. Same reasons, different wording. -
