but my life IS CoH!
If you click on an NPC that starts with the letter "M", it'll tell you how many hours you've REALLY spent ingame with that particular character:

I swear the M people are broken. My 15-month old brute has more time logged than my i6 Dominator, who I play more. It doesn't make a lick of sense to me how it could ever be so.

egad.. 5000+ hours?
My main, though seldom played these days, has 1243.
But, something odd happened just now. Logged into another character, talked to an M-named person and she said I had 224 patrol hours. I checked salvage inventory in my base, went and got the new explore badges, and before logging out I checked on another M-named person. He said I had 241 patrol hours; and this within an (realtime) hour of checking previously.
edit:
Ah, N-named is "gone on patrol x times", M-named is patrol hours. I think I talked to Ngac, not Mgac (where do they get these names?) the first time.

"On Patrol" is whenever you go street-sweeping, which I guess is detected by some funky code or other. It isn't anything to do with the Day Jobs because they had the dialog before those were introduced.

"N" names are how many times you have "gone on patrol" - how many times that character has logged into the game.
"M" names are how long you have been "on patrol" - how long that character has spent logged into the game.
Neither "N" nor "M" citizens care about what or where you are doing, or not doing, whatever it is you are doing, or not doing.

@Roderick
Roderick notes: Not quite. It's because someone entered "Samantha" in the name field, and checked the box that said "Male". Whether that was correct or not is irrelevant. |
Dec out.
Wait, really? I didn't know they actually used cencus info for the people in the city. That's cool.
We've been saving Paragon City for eight and a half years. It's time to do it one more time.
(If you love this game as much as I do, please read that post.)
what the...
"You have now been logged into the game for over 25,000 hours. We appreciate your patronage but feel you need to get a life. We shall suspend your account for one week. - Paragon Studios"
.........
Yes, I'm joking. Really. I thought of this when I was logging in today, just after getting up from a night's sleep, and then I went to get breakfast.
Btw, 6 years * 12 months * 30 days (average) * 24 hours = 51,000+ hours.
