Techbot Alpha should get the news:

Part of me wishes GG would read that. The rest of me just knows she'd respond with a one liner and that damned wink.
There's another thread on this article in which you are proven correct.

For my part, I agree with the article. In The Dark Knight Returns, it seems to finally dawn on Batman '"how many innocents I've murdered - by letting you live", in reference to the Joker.

Whats harder? To let a psychopathic murderer life because you are 'better than that', to stroke your own ego and think yourself civilised? Or to shoulder that burden of blood on your hands but no one elses, and to make sure he never harms another person?
That's always been ambiguous to me. I'm pretty sure I'd snap his neck like a twig and feel guilty and wrong about it the rest of my life. But I'd still do it.
  2. I'd have to vote "no", but then, I consider how the Patron Pools are set up (and almost all of CoV, really) as a mistake in the first place, so I have a little bias.
  3. But it's so PRETTY!

I push it a little far, myself, and then just put up with the hiccups...
  4. Stryker's fairly new. I seriously doubt if he's hit the cap. In fact, if he tells us how much "money" he's talking about, there's a fair chance most of us won't consider it all that much.

And he's not trying to store inf, but transfer it to another character.

[*]It's an easy jog through Perigrine Island, if you stay on the road centerline and no one's ambush was left lying around, to get to Fire Base Zulu and buy a Raptor Pack for 10k. I do this ASAP on any toon I make. Remeber though, PI is level 45+, so don't go peeking at the giant demons, etc, in the parking lots or you'll be toast.
Do you still do this? Seems kind of pointless with cheap jetpacks available at the market (unless it's a sort of personal ritual thing, and I understand that as I've got a few of those quirks myself).
  6. Merging the market was never "impossible". It was "we don't like what we saw when we did the projections".
  7. What Red said. It seems to be common knowledge and I haven't been there in quite a while when it wasn't doing that.

Overall though I am pretty sure the swearing (bad words) make people look less intelligent than they really are and hurt their arguements.
Given the rest of your post, I think you're aware (or should be) that it's not the words, it's how they're used.
  9. Yup, it's just a "no whoopsies, do-over!" warning.
  10. You have a point, but this is clearly designed as an "Oh CRAP!" power. I'd rather they made you unable to be hit completely rather than give you the power to attack out of it.
  11. When I'm backing up, I'm backing up on purpose, eyes front for a reason.. Turning around in those situations is contraindicated. If I want to turn around, I'm fully capable of doing so on my own.
  12. Absolutely. There is a tramway between zones, marked on your map with a big T. This is called The Yellow Line. As you progress, you will encounter the Green Line (north end of Steel Canyon, south end of Skyway City) that will take you to higher level zones.
  13. True. I guess I don't see "not necessary" as "spammy". I mean, with SSK, level isn't really "necessary" either. 'Course, none of it really is, it's all just an option some of us use. Heck, if I've encountered someone's toon before, I'll probably be able to tell more about them by name than by their level or archetype.
  14. I also have no pics (we just can't follow directions, can we? ), but people have been angling for the return of the old Flip hairstyle for as long as I can remember. There's another hairstyle in that category but I can't remember what it is.

I don't actually remember those, as they changed them either before I joined or shortly after, but I do remember people requesting this over and over.
  15. Ignorance of 4chan is a blessing. Savor it.
  16. Level 6? Your best bet right now is Kings Row (5-10). Here's a handy tip I gave out just yesterday.

Go to the train and go to Kings Row. When you enter, there should be a Police contact listed as your waypoint (if not, he should be in your contact list). Go to him and he will give you access to the police radio (it will appear at the top of your contacts). Do three missions from the radio and return to the police contact. He will give you a SafeGuard mission where your goal is to stop a bank robbery. When you get into the mission, the bank will be marked with a $. Get there as quickly as possible and stop the robbery. If you do, you will receive a free jetpack called the Raptor Pack that you can use for 2 hours of actual "on" time (timer stops when you shut it off). A very valuable and helpful tool for lowbies. EDIT: Separate note...you don't have to leave the mission on mission complete. If you go out the door of the bank, you can still clean up on the mobs around, and will discover that defeating some of them will give you little "side-missions" that are fun, too. Stopping those, and stopping Vandals (this stuff will be announced in big red letters and appear on your map) gains you extra time, as well.

SafeGuards containing other special powers and tools are available the same way (sometimes you have to do more than 3 radios) every five levels, but this is the most useful/important one.

Also as far as I've been told, the game actually becomes easier than WoW, but is a bit more complex at the start.
  17. Murphy took a break from making us miss the first shot after dropping a yellow insp to go after your website. He's a busy guy.
  18. True, but I think of that part as just bonus for them. Trolls know going in what's going to get on people's nerves. It's the intent that makes a troll, not the success.

To put it another way, if no one answers, they're still a troll.

Thanks very much. Worth giving it a try for me. I'm only running 2 gigs and a bit of an old card, so it might or might not help me with my laggy spots. I don't seem to have as much of that as you do, but as said, worth a shot.
  20. Actually, the whole point of trolling is to be disruptive and irritate/anger people, whether they get responses or not. It's the Catch-22 that if you answer them, you give them attention and if you don't, their position seems to be unrefuted.

Interesting! More info on that, if you would, please?
  22. They also bear a passing resemblance to the monsters from the Alien series, as well as resembling the Brood from X-Men comics (of course, the Brood are partially based on the Alien, so that make sense), all well preceding Independence Day.
  23. Oh, sure, they're a trusted company. Inf sellers are starting out right off the bat as rule breakers, so you can be pretty sure they're not to be trusted.

If you're on Virtue, it's been an off and on problem there for quite a while. If elsewhere, I dunno. It's a much much rarer occurrence on the other servers (at least from forum reports).
