So CoP is coming back but the way to improve it is to remove all PvP aspects to it when that was part of its original purpose? Okay. I can live with that. 24 people? Does anyone else realize that this means for the most part this will never be done past a couple of weeks past release? 24 people...Considering the merit reward rate this probably wont give enough for people to really want to try all that hard at it. But people still do Hami so I might be wrong but I am rather cynical.
UP TO 24 people. That means it's a maximum. We have no idea what the minimum is.

So the new "Doppelgangers" what's up with that? I mean I can already make a claws/regen stalker via the Mission AE, or are they going make it so that even enhancements and such are carried over, and can we finally have EATS and VEATS in missions?
I'm not sure specifically what you're asking, but the Doppelganger function seems to be based on the tech used in the I17 missions that came out where you face a version of yourself (a version, not the exact ones...no enh and sometimes slightly different powers, depending on your build).

EDIT: Beaten out not once, not twice, but THRICE!

So, what can be done to make supergroups a useful part of the game again? I know some people will disagree with that statement, depending on the server you're on, but right now they don't serve a necessary part of the game (and some would argue they don't have to).
    Yes, I would argue that.

    Right now, I just feel supergroups are there and don't add much to the gameplay experience other than a pool of people to play with;
IMHO, that's all they should be (but, lots of the good common QoL suggestions in this thread).

No, they don't. They never have been. They're brief overviews with no details.

I never understand why people don't get this. Things are worth exactly what someone's willing to pay (and, yes, PT Barnum was correct...don't be "that guy").

    DumpleBerry warns:

Just an FYI, Devs, there is a crapload of GR stuff in your advertisement for I18. Also, the wiggle words you deliberately used to blur the line between I18 and GR are going to really piss some people off.

You knew what you were doing, and did it on purpose... But I'm just saying.
There probably will be some people angry, but (and yes, I know it's condescending and rude) I have a tendency to dismiss people that don't know how to read advertising. It's not like we're not inundated in it from near birth. I have no understanding how people don't get how it works.
  10. Sadly, you have to go to EACH and EVERY post and click the little scales to see the comments (and if there weren't any, it just tells you your current rep points). I stopped looking a while ago.

    StormSurvivor points out:

The bank thing was just a simple example; don't take my word for that.
But my guess is that the mission itself would have more than one outcome, and how you handled the missions determines how your alignment shifts. If regular players who don't purchase GR can use these tip missions, I don't see why they'd involve the alignment system at all. I'm currently just looking at them as another form of getting a mission. Just like contacts, the police radio, and ouroboros. All speculation, though.
Oh, oh, yes, I was merely talking about the "do this many of these missions to get to it" part. Yeah, the actual Alignment missions would have to be quite different than a Safeguard/Mayhem.

    Edited to add:

You could be right, but if that is the case then I don't see why regular players would be able to do these missions. They can't actually shift their alignment, so having access to the mission doesn't really make sense to me.
I'm more along the lines of this. It doesn't sound to me like the tip missions have anything to do with your alignment besides getting you to the mission that does.
  12. Activated rep on these boards is just an indicator that the mods have short memories.

It'll eventually get canned like the stars did. It's really just a stupid drama magnet.
  13. So, sort of like the Safeguards/Mayhems are set up? I think that's what I'm getting out of this.

    Dinah parses words:

You may want to reword this then: "These Tips start new mission arcs, allowing characters to face new opponents and challenges--and perhaps even change their destiny."

It implies that you will be able to change your destiny without purchasing GR.
Funny, I took the "perhaps" to mean "if you have GR". Different strokes, I suppose.
  15. They moved Silver Mantis out of the SGs (although left it there, too). I would not be the least surprised if the same thing happens here.

I certainly like the number being there rather than not being there like it used to be. Having to open your info just to see what level you are was a bit of an annoyance itself.

I'll basically always /sign any suggestion for more emotes regardless.

But if we're talking about having a different pose while not moving with Fly or Hover on then there are already a number of emotes that will "override" the basic idle stance. Ones like the 'invent' emote and the juggle emotes do a good job making you look different while just floating still.
The problem with the other is, you don't look like you're flying/floating, you look like you're standing on an invisible floor.
  20. I think the answer to about half of those is "not with this engine/it doesn't work like you think it does".
  21. Those do nothing unless you're moving, you know. Karuma's talking about the idle pose. When you're just floating there.

    Also /signed
  22. Recreating every single one of the animations that use the legs in ways that are awkward in the floor length stuff wouldn't be a solution, it would be a problem in and of itself. It's be a huge undertaking.

Yeah these temp powers are rather common. SO common that people are buying them from the market at below sell price and making money off of them. Why people sell them below their store sell price IDK, but it is happening.
I do because I like them and want them in cheap circulation so everyone can have them at a whim (including me). They've helped me flesh out several of my characters. My Batman-ish character even has a dedicated "Utility Belt" power tray full of them.
