New Costume Suggestions

I've always wanted to see more costumes, especially for female toons. I'd like to see gowns (belle gowns, slit gowns, etc.) and I'd like outfits like the Sybils in Cimerora wear. I'd like to see military ranks available for Shoulders. Maybe even robes like the Circle of Thorns Guardians wear. I'd like to see long curly hairstyles. I know there's things for men I'd like to see as well, but I can't think of them right now. I'll post them later when I remember. But these are examples of costumes I'd like to use for my toons.

Am I the only one??

No, but the limitations of the game engine restrict them from going much past the knees with stuff, and there's so many "kicky" powers and animations that it would be hard to make the floor-length stuff work for everyone (a requirement of player costumes) without looking god awful (how some of the anis look with pencil skirt is bad enough).

Jay (the costume guy) has mentioned that he tried long robes and dresses, but since there are so many different animations in the game it looked like crap, so he scrapped it.

The reason CoT gets them is because they have a limited number of attacks and animations so the robes can be made to work with them.

The thing with the Sybil pieces has more to do with limited number of costume nodes, and the fact that they are basically just capes with a different attachment point. The Sybils have them because it is part of the character model, rather than a costume piece. Granite Armor and Kheldian shapeshifts actually replace your character model with a different one, the Sybil pieces would likely do the same thing.

I REALLY agree with this idea. I play male characters, and most of them wear kilts because of lack of robes or anything like such for the lower half. But the 'skirt' idea would be great. I've really been wanting something like Romulus has, as previously mentioned, "A cape with an alternate attatchment point", or as the more simple of players call them, "Buttcapes". I think it would work somewhat, seeing as trench coats were brought into the game. It could be a whole new section (much like back items and auras), which attatch cape-like pieces to the lower half of the character, prefferably connecting at the belt-line between the torso and legs.

How about creating new animation for does that want gowns or robes it would be only exclusive for gowns and robes. I think that would solve the animation problem, so when a character makes a character with gown or robe the engine will switch up the animation, because of the those certain dresses or robes. Would that be to hard to code or would it take to much time to make new animation for gowns and robes.

Recreating every single one of the animations that use the legs in ways that are awkward in the floor length stuff wouldn't be a solution, it would be a problem in and of itself. It's be a huge undertaking.
