Quote:I apologize for my incorrect assumption. You hadn't made this bit clear, so I was left to question why you would go to such lengths to prove they didn't work this way. The only thing I could figure was that you expected this to work somehow. As much as I appreciate words being put in my mouth, I've already had breakfast, so I'm not hungry.
No, *I* didn't expect it to work, because pets typically don't inherit any buffs from the caster (although "patches" and pseudo-pets usually do). But on the various successful Really Hard Way runs I've been on, it was stressed to use Ultimate before summoning Lore so they get the shift.
This should put those rumors to rest.
That said, thanks for the bit of work. -
Quote:I grab HP where I can because I know the AT has a low HP, but I don't think I was factoring in the Essence Boost. I suppose I can afford to shave those out.One thing I've found about PBs over the years is that their durability can really be top notch without a huge amount of investment. I bring that up because it looks like you've gone outta your way in a few places to grab Regen and HP bonuses you won't really need.
Quote:EDIT: Also keep in mind that if Hasten isn't perma you can't count on the +Recharge it provides all the time. That caused some weird idiosyncracies in my TriForm perma LF build.
Quote:Here's mine, it sacrifices a few things, but in the end you get about 32% defense to all positions and still have perma light form. It won't work out if you're not going to use incarnate abilities, though. But....Considering you've got purples in that build I think it's a safe bet you'll incarnate it out.
Quote:Dechs, I would forget about the e/n defense and focus on just s/l. For dark armor it's good to get both, but the pb does not have the energy weakness that da does. I think by going for the e/n you are streching the build a little too much.
Quote:Why are you doing human only? I thought you were a triform guy...
Quote:Also are you limiting your budget on this, cause we can throw some more inc at it and get a few better bonuses.
Incarnate powers or no?
I will certainly get incarnate powers, but I do not like to build with them in mind because they're not always available. I want all my builds to be fully functional at level 40, which is why you'll see all my sets are capped at level 40. Likewise with Shining Shield, I'll never need it at high level, but I will use it when I exemplar below Lightform. -
Because it sure doesn't feel like it...
This is my attempt at a Peacebringer.
The blank slot in Solar Flare is for the KD IO when it comes out. I don't have Conserve Energy, but I don't think I'll miss it. Managed to perma lightform and fit 33% defense to S/L. I even end up with 20% psionic defense. Shining Shield stays so I can still exemplar.

Quote:Wait, you expected the Ultimate inspiration to benefit your pets by using it on yourself? Why?One thing I didn't try was feeding an Ultimate to the Henchmen directly via the Pet window (or drag-and-drop), which I figure should work on Mastermind and Lore pets alike.
Red inspirations don't benefit pets when you use them on yourself.
No, I think the moral of the story is: Inspirations don't work on pets the way you want them to. -
I almost exclusively use the mouse to click my powers, as opposed to the numbers of my keyboard. For some reason, pressing numbers never works well for me.
That said, I do use binds for the following keys: Q, E, C, V, G, T, ALT+Q, ALT+E, and Shift + click. No, I can't really explain how I can have 8 regular keybinds, but not like hitting the numbers. -
Quote:Really really. Welcome to City of Heroes.I'm serious. Saw the end of a conversation in game and I had to know if it was true.
I mean everyone knows an Ill/rad can, but a melee? Really?
And I'd like you to meet Johnny, the games biggest proponent of turning tanks into brutes. -
Gimp or tankmage is more determined by the player than even the powersets, but you cannot apply either term unilaterally.
All my masterminds are fantastic tankmages. -
Quote:Try Provoke.First Ward? At some point I walked in there with a Mastermind, got a mission, went to it, watched the very first spawn of Carnival of War effortlessly obliterate every single one of my pets, then left and have never, ever bothered to go back. I figured that if an ordinary spawn of the very first guys I was expected to fight could do that (such swift scrubbing doesn't even happen as a fluke everywhere else for my MMs), why bother? I'm here to have fun, not be treated once again to the mind boggling lack of consistency in CoX.

In fact, if it happens to crash while your health is less than half, it will actually heal you. Same goes for endurance.

Quote:Dark Armor Sucks.Dark Armor looks like an ideal pairing with Titan Weapons especially for someone who likes to min/max their toons. My only concern about DA are the toggles How viable is the pairing with TW if the fight goes beyond several minutes? Im sure taking energy mastery will help but will it be enough?
And on a Brute.
And my guide. -
Can't do boss farms. You need all three enemy ranks now.
-
Nobody knows what they want till they finally let it all go.

Spot on for alpha. Damage is what a stalker does.
Interface: reactive does the most damage, but everyone has that, so stacking is limited on teams. Degenerative is the next best. -
I can't look at the build on my phone, but I can offer you my MFing warshade guide. It has build advice, as well as a link to my build. Do a search for AIB's build to compare to if you get a chance. His builds fit much more defense than I care to.

Quote:Careful, that might just be a difference between the AT modifiers. It's 33%. You get an SOs worth of end reduction as long as you stay at 3 levels of Perfection. My DA/Staff tank lives in Form of the Soul. I'll be switching it up once I get my endurance consumption under control, which won't be much longer.
I don't know either way. Just saying it's something to check first. -
You're using the wrong AT.
If you want a tanking character, roll a tank.
If you want a tanking character with better damage, roll a brute.
You play your warshade if you want something with the flexibility to blast, control, tank, nuke, summon pets, shove its resistance up to the 85% cap and its damage up to the 300% cap.
If you want to hamstring the previously mentioned AT, then limit it to dwarf form. -
Half because I don't like my powers working differently just because I walked into a different zone, and the other half because of people like this guy.
