  1. was looking at a defender, not sure how well they work in zone if they can do enough damage but I didn't have a build to see what the defense would be so I just threw together one really quick. I was mainly focusing on range defense but here are teh numbers
    S/L 43.2
    F/C 45.7
    E/NE 67
    Psi 42
    Melee 44.5
    AoE 49.5

    but the one I was working on mainly is

    RANGED 80.7

  2. Could someone explain tome how repel works? Does it count as knock back or is it it's own thing? If it's all on it's own does mod toons have alot of mag against repel powers or is it a least common thing?

    Also wondering if someone could explain to me how to figure up defense after being hit by dr in pvp? I've got an idea in mind but not knowing how these things work and how to figure in dr when it comes to pvp if it'll be even possible or just a bad idea all around. Even if I was able to get my defense where I wanted it in pvp with dr included is it worth it or will everyone have so much accuracy that no amount of defense will matter?

  3. Not sure if someone has already said this or not (since I didn't have enough time to read all the post), but I'm thinking IF they do kill of Statesman in WWD#5 there are going to be more twist to come in the last 2 arcs.

    Here's my thoughts on what's to come if States does die off.

    In the end you will finally see who is behind all of this, and that'll be the shocking twist that they were set out to do not who actually died since they've spoiled that part and it happened before the ending.

    With that being said, once the person behind it all steps out into sight it will be none other then Statesman himself!!!

    As said not sure if someone else had already said that but I'm thinking something bigger and more shocking then who died is going to have to come at the end. What would be a bigger shock then someone coming back from the dead (or atleast everyone thought he was dead) and the biggest heroic icon turning evil???
  4. I will, wait what server, and how many Donatello's can we have? What about Michaelangelo? Hmmm. . . . guess could go with he's been captured by Shredder and we've set out to rescue him?

    As far as my picks so far i'm debating between /SR, /WP, and /Regen. Leaning more towards regen, build for recharge, go with MoG, Shadow Meld, and I'm not sure on destiny, was thinking Barrier??? Any thoughts on that combo, haven't gotten incarnate powers on a regen yet so not sure what works well, just by looking seems like it could be hard to kill with the defense, resistance, and regen it would have.
  5. With staff melee coming to beta or atleast suppose to be coming sometime this month just curious what everyone is thinking of pairing it with. A description of attacks has already been releasedand for those who has had the time to look over it what are your thoughts on the best pairing? I'm looking forward to this set so far more then I have others. Been trying to take a toon of each AT and IO him out and been waiting for staff to use as my scrapper. If it turns out to be as fun as I'm hoping it will be then I plan on putting a bit of influ. into his build, don't think I'll go with any PvP enhan. atleast not atm, but I am planning on using purple sets and some HO's where needed. Back to the main question, what seems like it's going to have the best synergy to go with staff?

  6. I was wanting elec armor but couldn't picture it working. Now with the ideas and story line I can see it working, maybe use the stone costume set with some tweaks railroad crossing sign and elec armor. Still stuck though, to many options. Then thought maybe a stone armor brute with fury maybe he wouldn't seem as weak in granite mode. Invul was one of my first picks since with the def bonus from the attack will make it even easier to soft cap S/L. The. Then I get thinking if I go with a brute for the higher damage I would like a set with a aura that deals damage. Sigh to many decisions. I see me changing my mind alot and rolling this toon several times. I have lots of tanks already that are IO'ed out really good. Also have a stone tank and brute. Maybe I'll play around to level 20 or so and see what I like the best. Any other thoughts or ideas?

  7. With TW coming near I'm trying to figure out what to pair it with. For this toon I'm wanting to sitck with a theme type overall instead of what would work the best. Here's a little bit of info on the toon that I've got figured out so far
    1)already have the costume
    2)going to use the rail road crossing sign as weapon
    3)Name: Road Block

    What do you all think will work the best with everything in consideration. Overall a build that will do decent at the least, works with his weapon and name. What would the name seem to mean to you as a hero and/or vill to go best with a certain primary?

    With the name Road Block, I'm thinking a tank would work the best for it's better survivablity, but if you think I could get a brute or scrapper to live up to the name and expectations then feel free to suggest something for those aswell.

    (excuse the spelling and wording, just woke up and trying to get this posted before I have to take off, my fingers moves faster then my brain does this early in the morning)

  8. Posted this in the stalker forum last night, didn't mean to post it there so I copied it and reposted it here. Was trying to stay awake and just didn't realize it til this morning when I tried looking for the post,

    I have no clue on building a toon for PvP, haven't even played a stalker much for PvE either so don't know alot about them. Before you look at my build let me state, I'm looking for a cheap build that'll be able to do somewhat decent just to kinda learn and have fun with. I'm looking for any suggestions that can make my build better with out requiring alot of influence. Not sure if I've got the right powers picked and/or any power slotted right. Looking for guidance on what powers I need and how to slot them. I don't want to slot any PvP enhan., atm not wanting to slot any purples, or high dollar set enhan. This is just a quick put together build using mainly IO's, after checking out the numbers after completetion I do notice I need to swap out some of the IO's for sets to cap my HP. If there is something that makes a BIG difference in performance feel free to share even if it is a bit higher in price, I might change my mind. If I get to enjoying using this toon for PvP, then later on I will redo the build and go with something better.

    Instead of going back and fixing the problems that I'm aware of after looking over the final build I'm going to go ahead and post the "needs alot of work" build. Mainly becuase it's late and I'm trying not to fall asleep.

  10. Since you seem to enjoy doing these so much, and I have no idea how ;-p

    I've got another tanker combo that I play a bit if you want to give it a showing, it's a Fire/Dark tank, just curious how burn will affect the DPS if it'll make it better or worse. Right now I'm running pyre mastery with my tank and I don't have any of the incarnate powers on him, he's on my second account but I'm starting to like playing him more and more so I might have to roll another one on my main account, not sure how long I'll keep my second account VIP. Seen the /stone DPS, and that one of the primaries you suggested was ice. Glad you showed that, Ice/Stone is the tank I'm currently leveling now, so it'll keep me from asking when I get ready to do his final build heh.

  11. I seem to be getting back into playing my SD/SS/energy tank alot again and was wondering about a good ST chain. If you don't mind coming up with one for me here are a few things to keep in mind. I'll be using AAO and Assault for damage boost, and hopefully I'll be able to keep my double stacked rage aswell. Secondary powers doesn't matter to me, use which ever ones will work the best and if laser eyes would help feel free to include it if it won't then that's fine also. It's not a concept toon build so I'm not worried about having or not having certain powers from secondary or having laser eyes or not. Think I'm running the 75% chance for DoT atm also. Hope I didn't forget any helpful information yu might need. Thanks in advance!!!
  12. For the most part, the medicine pool for me is a waste aswell, I usually don't have the need to use it in most cases. I got it mainly because I like running +4x8 content, and solo'ing AV's to see which ones I can and can't handle alone. But other then that, yeah it's pretty much a wasted pick other then the 5% rech bonus I get from the sets.
  13. It's late and I didn't get time to look at your build to see what all enhan you have so far, but I figured I would post my build that I use in game that does very well. My defense debuff resistance is at cap, and M/R/A are all atleast soft capped with decent resistance to S/L a heal and good endurance management (had problems with end before I did a respec) Not sure if this is along the lines you are looking for but maybe it'll help give you some ideas.

  14. I'm thinking might give Dark Armor a try. It'll help with a bit of control and maybe get them packed in tight and allow to get good positioining. As long as the endurance is manageable. I checked TW out just not for long so not sure if my thoughts on control and positioning is going to really matter. Anyone else try this combo with more experience playing it then my few minutes?
  15. Third attempt, and I think it's getting better! (or atleast I hope it is)
    The reasoning behind the powers that I choose to put the purples in is simply because I know I've got most of those (some sets I have all of them) in storage. As far as the HO's, well I've got a a decent amount of them aswell, haven't checked to see which ones for sure but I'm guessing with my luck it'll be all the ones I don't need.

    This is what I've gotten so far, but afterwards another thought I had was maybe get rid of medicine pool completly, pick up manuevers as a mule for my lat LotG +rech. put another slot in strangler for dmg. as suggested and then I'll have 3 more slots to place else where.
    Any thoughts on that idea? If it seems like a good idea what other power should I get, and where should I place the left over 3 slots?

    Almost forgot, if this is the build I should go with, then what alpha and other incarnate powers should I choose. Atm I plan on getting all of them to atleast T3.

  16. Ok, so what if I went a whole new route then? Instead of going for soft capped defense how about perma hasten, for more focused offense? Here's another build that I tried to make for perma hasten.

    I have 1 to many sets for the 6.25% recharge bonus, in your opinion which set should be replaced and with what?

    Also was planning on going with Spirtual Partial Tadial Revamp with this build, good idea or no?

    Only thing I really focused on with this build was the recharge, all the other bonuses I've got just came with my main goal. Does this seem like a build that would work out well or no? Should I go back to my other build and just rework a bit of it or tweak this build some and go this route?

  17. Trying to come up with a build for level 50 play. I'll probably use him for a little bit of everything if he's going to be capable. Close to softcapped on S/L, and close to perma hasten, have capped HP. Thinking of going with the new alpha in hopes that it'll get me to soft cap S/L and perma hasten.   18. Trying to come up with a build for level 50 play. I'll probably use him for a little bit of everything if he's going to be capable. Close to softcapped on S/L, and close to perma hasten, have capped HP. Thinking of going with the new alpha in hopes that it'll get me to soft cap S/L and perma hasten. Any thoughts and suggestions on what I've gotten so far?

  20. Actually that was a good explanation. I wasn't thinking about it being a pseudo pet. I was thinking that Phlanx gave defense, but it's been a while since I've built one and I wasn't getting any defense showing up in my totals probably my error or I changed something that I shouldn't have the other day while trying to get some powers changed around in the data.

    I've done started so many StJ toons and deleted them, I'm starting to think of doing it again, wondering if I should got /SR instead of /SD now. Hmmmmmm. . . . .anyone with advice on which /SR or /SD?

When I started to put this build together I didn't plan on posting it to look for feedback, I started off wanting to see how much damage bonus I could get, then got off track and this is what I ended up with so I decided since I'm tight on time I would go ahead and post it and see what others have to say and go from there. I'm sure my endurance is going to be a BIG concern, but was thinking I might could get the destiny power to help that out a bit mixed with using conserve might work? I also was wanting to work some procs into the build, but ended up getting focused on trying to get him softcapped instead. Would like to be able to solo AV's and still be good for team play aswell. I had other concerns and thoughts that I was going to point out, but as stated I'm tight on time right now, so here's the build if you have any feedback it would be appreciated.

  22. What lvl AV is considered to be a good defeat using a tank?
    I decided to try it with my SD/SS tank and went through Infernal pretty easily, of course I had dropped the diff. down since it was my first attempt with this toon.

    Afterwards I started farming the BM map set at +4x8 hoping for some good drops (been atleast 6 months or longer since I've gotten a purple receipe, know any good missions or ways to get them?). Wasn't getting anything good to drop so I started getting curious and went after BM. Knowing there's no way I'm going to defeat her as a lvl 54, I still wanted to see how I could survive. I was able to get her HP down to 75-80% (I know that's still alot but I was surprised I even got it to that). With BM's HP bar sitting around the 75-80% mark that was pretty much all I could do. Tried for a bit longer she stayed the same and I survived everything she had to throw at me (which was the main test).

    With all that being said, does it seem possible for me to beat her at a lower level? But the main question, what level does the AV's need to be in order to make it a satisfying victory if I'm able to pull it off?

As stated I'm wanting to make a tank and try to solo AV's, I haven't tried to do it before on any of my tanks I curently have, but thinking I want to make a new tank just to build strictly for this purpose. I've got some ideas in mind, but I'm not wanting to post any builds yet because I'm wanting to wait to get some feedback from others about what they think are some good combos to use for this, and I'm going to be making a whole new toon so I might change my mind on some of my choices in the build by that time.

    With that being said, I would like to let you know what I've been considering anyways
    For primary I've been thinking Elec or Fire
    For secondary DM, StJ, or SS

    Out of those combos atm elec/dm is really sticking out to me, will the -tohit work well enough on an AV to make it helpful though?

    If you have any other suggestions feel free to let me know then and why.

    To finish it off also let me know what power pick I would need from epic/patron to be able to pull this off or atleast help make it easier.

    After I've decided, and get close to getting him finished off I'll post a build to get help on the finishing touches to make this an easier task (definetly need help on attack chain with whatever choice I go with, not sure how to find the best attack chain out) feel free to give me the formula for attack chains also if you want and have time to explain it!

  24. What would you change and why?

    Building for normal play, don't have a big goal in mind other then wanting to do good in teams or solo play with the everyday normal content, tips mission, story arcs etc. . .

    Was trying for soft capped defense and perma hasten, got pretty close not sure if I should try something else. Main concern is my damage going to be low? Looked at a few other builds and seems the damage is a bit higher then mine, although I didn't think to check to see if combat readiness was active, and if incarnate ability was turned on.

    I went with darkness mastery for the -to hit and -acc plus to slot for the +rech bonuses. By no means am I stuck on that as my epic, willing to change it, rather stay epic then patron just mainly cause I don't want to have to jump back and fourth, but if it'll make a BIG difference in getting a patron then I'm up for it.

    Also what is the best attack chain that anyone has come up with so far for SJ? Will I be able to use it in my build (or do I need to make some changes first)?

    Another question is incarnates, which alpha and other incarnate powers are most people going with using this combo?
