  1. Are any of the Demon pets prone to melee? I might do a /Poison if the boss pet goes into melee without being directed to.
  2. Team with people, use your controls and buff teammates with your secondary. That's one option of what to do.

    AV' enough Def ?

For Hasten vs Stealth, the answer is Hasten by a long shot.

You're going to defeat that AV by putting out more Acid Mortars and PGTs. More Seekers will help in general.
  4. I had assumed AE would not provide the traditional rewards when I first read about it. I was quite frankly shocked when I found out it would. My own "spider sense" went off right away that this would be trouble.

By no means is this a post to say "toldja so". Rather it's just to /sign this. If AE's only reward were tickets, with no change to what tickets could be exchanged for, I'd still find it worthwhile, just from a rewards perspective.
  5. What I do for this is, as mentioned previously, Moonfire, then I follow it up with the 3rd and 4th Striga arcs from the Hansens.

Moonfire, as mentioned, will get you very close to both badges, maybe even get you Silver Bullet. There are two missions by Hansen (Lars I think) that are all vamps.

Following that formula will not only get you the badge, but award merits and unlock Hess. Much more efficient than hunting greys.
  6. At the Meet and Greet I attended in Boston recently, mentioning "City of... 2" would elicit a vague "I can neither confirm nor deny" type of response from anyone I spoke to from the dev team.

To answer the OP, you won't go "wrong" with any Corr.

As has been said a few times, for the primary, Sonic and Dark may well be the most advantageous to teams. For secondaries, any team will be better when they add an average Corr. They'll be much better adding any well played one.

    Dual Box MM's

I think Traps is a great 2nd box set. I'm not a sophisticated 2-boxer, meaning I don't use the tools some use. So I need simple. That's Traps. This is what the second box does

Summon FFG when you see your Def drop dramatically
    Place Acid Mortar
    Place Poison Gas Trap

    Done!

I've actually used a /FF MM as a 2nd box a lot, but not with another MM, but rather any other AT. I would much more recommend Traps to 2nd box to another MM. Force Field's strength is in the bubbles and you'd have to bubble all 12 henchment to make it worthwhile. If you don't do that (and who would want to?) then FFG is actually better Def and then you get the other Traps goodies.

Praetoria may well open up some interesting cross-faction possibilities too with elec/ trollers, though that's a bit away right now.
  10. Heavy Burst and Suppression are cones as well. So I don't mind the shark cones since I'm lining up anyway.

There is no "tanking" on a fire/rad team. The /FF exception was made for mez protection primarily. The team TTPd around as one unit, no tanking needed.

If so I'm taking a sabattical from the game. Spawn is the worst comic book series in history.
  13. Get your vill up to 50 Bob and we'll do LRSF + STF + LGTF + ITF. That fits in your 3-hour window.

In other, yet similar new, I did my first League of Debt-centric LRSF yesterday, good times. Get your vill to 50!

Your doubt is not supported by my own experiences. I'm in a group that periodically puts together all troller STFs. "roll through" is an apt term.

To take it to the next level, I used to do all fire/rad STFs with a crew that would finish them in 40ish minutes waaaay before that became a cool thing to do.

    Ambushed!

You can count on a lvl 30ish ambush in Mercy during the Renault SF.
  16. Capital Grille and Legal Seafood? Sounds like someone had a nice expense budget.

War Witch you did things in a weekend that I haven't done in 15 years living in Boston. All the touristy things one only tends to even consider when someone visits from out of town.

Sadly I didn't get a chance to chat with WW. At least I have that to look forward to next time.
  17. It's definitely NOT Granite or bust for the big spider guy.

I'm not a tank fan and I don't build new ones. Having said that, my first character (and 50) is an Inv/ that is soft capped to s/l and I think energy as well, with 1 foe in range. I'll bring him on an STF when my SG teams really need one. With an Emp babysitter it's always been a trivial encounter. Without that, it's time to raid the bin in my base for Tier 3 insps. One purple T3 covers the To-Hit buff. Then 3 oranges (to cap energy resistance) at a time until the red tower is down. Devote 2 columns to green T3s just in case. A column of blues helps as well for his end draining Channel Gun.

Lastly, pray your teammates can take the towers can quickly.
  18. The downside of farming -1 is that you get set recipes (not purple) at lvl 49. It's my observation that there's a pretty decent markup from 49 to 50. Maybe the math works out that the chance for purples roll faster making it worthwhile. I doubt it.
  19. I have a love/hate relationship farming carnies. I love the way many of them go squish to lethal. I hate the debuffs (Mask of vitiation, the Dark debuffs) and the phasing. The phasing slows down farming and there's just nothing you can do. Additionally, enough Illusionists (especially when summoned by an MI) in a spawn can break through scrapper/brute mez protection.

That's one advantage to vill side. Carnies from 35-40 don't have nearly as much of the downside of that faction.
  20. Sorry about the weather, visitors to Boston. Should have had this event last weekend, it was perfect here... blue sky, 70ish degrees. This morning on my commute: SNOW!

It's looking like I won't make the event at Jillians. I'll be making reparations to indigenous Americans via $25 bets at a time at their casinos in CT.

    No to Taunt

The taunt sets have some nice bonuses (for a bargain price), I don't mind slotting Challenge/Provoke with 4-6 slots.

I'm sure Challenge/Provoke is nice for any MM, but I do agree that sets that have otherwise good control effects (Dark, Traps, Storm, maybe TA) can keep henchmen alive without it. Those without those effects (Thermal, Pain) really benefit from it, especially since they have an easy self heal. Not sure where to put in FF. Maybe taking Presence on FF will keep the suicidal henchman (arsonist, medic) alive 20% longer.
  22. Me likey!

More for my /SD and /SR guys for Hasten and click mez protection. My one perma dom will be adopting this too.
  23. How about the Trials:

    Abandoned Sewers
    Cavern of Transcendence
    Eden
    Respec 1
    Respec 2
    Respec 3
    ?

Just a quick testimonial. My first char was a Invul/SS Tank and I did Sewers right around lvl 40ish, about 3 and 1/2 years ago. All the psi damage WRECKED my guy. I've since built up his Psi Def to what I think is a respectable 26% with IOs. I did the trial again with this tank with his bonuses, also on the team was an Emp who kept me perma-Forted. Wow what a difference. Soft capped to Psi the whole time, there weren't even any interesting moments.

Really? The "sploiters and noobs" caused the development staff to take action to fix bugs that the development staff ONLY is responsible for causing. Where I work that's called fixing what you broke. I can't imagine blaming one of my customers for finding a bug created by one of our developers.
